Lol. Animal activists on nairaland are just very funny.
You wont see them on threads where those animals brutalize small kids or even adults. Its a shame.
I dont support unnecessary killing of animals too but the wild ones should be in the bush.

Oga, if Judas did not get the money across to the chief priests, would the land have been bought?

I expected you to ask yourself this question.

If your answer to the question is "no", then I don't know what else you're saying, because it is obvious to every thinking being that the mere act of funding of the purchase qualifies Judas to be labelled as the buyer.
He is not here to learn(if thats the right word to use) but to argue endlessly. Its very obvious.

A statement that is contradictory to "Judas bought the field" is "Judas did not buy the field"

The chief priests bought the field, but it was Judas who funded the buying. Thus, Judas can be said to have bought the field.
Nice one sir!!

its like saying the Catholics or Amish or AMORC speak for Christianity as a whole

My dear friend, your analogy of your magically built house seems premised on a flawed understanding of atheism. You have kindda mixed atheism with the big bang theory and have gone further with an erroneous idea of what the big bang is about.

Let's educate you, if you will be open enough to learn new viewpoints.

Atheism's main crux is the idea that all gods are man made and thus unreal. Not a far fetched idea for religious people to grasp, after all Christians feel Buddha is fake while Muslims also see the Holy Spirit as unreal...and so on for all religions.

Atheists reject all theories of creation as fake, obviously as all gods are seen as fake. Further reason is that every religion and culture have their creation stories and not one has ever resembled the other. So which of these is true? Another reason is that all creation stories retain the same faulty bronze age assumptions about the cosmos; that the world is 6,000 years old or less, that the gods reside in the sky, that creation started in the backyard of whatever culture is telling the story, that the sun, moon and stars are within our atmosphere, that all fauna and flora are today as they have been from day 1 without evolution, that Earth is the centre of the cosmos. These are fallacious ideas with what now know and you'd expect the creator to know so and not "reveal" terribly wrong ideas to his prophets.

Atheists are not propounders of the big bang theory. The big bang theory is a scientific theory to explain a possible beginning of the world. Scientists are atheists, religious folks etc and big bang is from that faculty and thus not necessarily an atheist dogma. By its very definition, atheism has no dogma, no congregation and no "leaders".

Big bang is what it is, a theory. Any half a penny student of science understands that there is observation, hypothesis, theory and law and these represent different levels of authenticity. No sane scientist will propound the big bang as a law thus it remains a hypothesis to explain what is, pending further understanding of the cosmos.
So sir, how do you think the universe started? Since the "Big Bang" is just a theory/hypothesis and you believe atheists dont subscribe to the idea.

When done, ensure to read the books attached
Following are according to Tim O'Neill.
"There are no contemporary accounts or mentions of Jesus. There should be, so clearly no Jesus existed."
This seems a good argument to many, since modern people tend to leave behind them a lot of evidence they existed (birth certificates, financial documents, school records, etc.) and prominent modern people have their lives documented by the media almost daily. So it sounds suspicious to people that there are no contemporary records at all detailing or even mentioning Jesus.
But our sources for anyone in the ancient world are scarce and rarely are they contemporaneous—they are usually written decades or even centuries after the fact. Worse still, the more obscure and humble in origin the person is, the less likely that there will be any documentation about them or even a fleeting reference to them at all.
For example, few people in the ancient world were as prominent, influential, significant and famous as the Carthaginian general Hannibal. He came close to crushing the Roman Republic, was one of the greatest generals of all time and was famed throughout the ancient world for centuries after his death down to today. Yet how many contemporary mentions of Hannibal do we have? Zero. We have none. So if someone as famous and significant as Hannibal has no surviving contemporary references to him in our sources, does it really make sense to base an argument about the existence or non-existence of a Galilean peasant preacher on the lack of contemporary references to him? Clearly it does not.
So while this seems like a good argument, a better knowledge of the ancient world and the nature of our evidence and sources shows that it's actually extremely weak.
NB: I posted the above stance because of your words in the link you provided. "Jesus didn't exist at all because there is no record and it is very unusual for Romans not to keep a record of something that almost destroyed their empire; they recorded national embarrassments like Nordic invasion, Hannibal and even Spartacus. Just like Moses, the tales of Jesus were made out of nowhere."

His existence is not historically certain.
CNN did a program this month to prove his existence, it still didn't completely convince.
His crucifixion was accepted based on the fact that Christians won't invent an embarrassing death for their God. Read up on the criteria of embarrassment.

Read the gospel of Pseudo Matthew Chapter 18 for the dragon story.
Im sorry but i failed to catch what you are really driving at.
What proof do you have to sustain your argument?

Right... he makes a good point.

OK... The problem with most Christians is that they think that becoming a Christian and following God means no more problems, no more issues. everything is OK.

Well, the early Christians did not have that luxury .A good number of them died for believing in God..... despite all the promises of blessings.

But why does God allow bad things happen to good people?

Recently on BBC, the daughter of a missionaries told her parents story. Her father was a missionary and a good man who died in the course of the job....killed by the idol worshippers he was trying to reach (no offense to my pagan brothers and sisters). What did his wife do? His wife went and took his place.... ministering to the people who killed her husband along with another widow..... and many were converted.... Including the men who killed her husband.

Now... If the woman had given up on the faith, and said that Jesus is a failure for not protecting her husband, would the souls of her husband's killers be saved.

Jesus said that we are the light of the world. Sometimes that means shining when we don't feel like it, when all hope is lost, when we are personally hurt. But we have to shine..... because somewhere among the people who hurt us is a Saul who will bring light to more millions.

Let us talk about saul/paul. He persecuted Christians. He took part in the death of a good man called Stephen. But Saul was converted by Jesus on the road to Damascus. The job was completed by Ananias and Barnabas..... members of the same church that he was prosecuting. Now what if Ananias had said that Jesus failed...since he could not protect Stephen.? What if Barnabas had left the faith? Where would Paul be?

Jesus gave you a mission as Christians.... gave us a mission.... to be a little light in a dark world. It is not comfortable business being a light. You may have to forgive, have to love, have to forget hurts done to you. Because you have a mission as a Christian... to help reconcile an evil world to the Lord. Not to sit back and expect your blessing for doing God a favour by following him.

The problem with the ex Christian the OP quoted is that he was following God for favors. That is not the kind of follower God wants.

I wish i could like this comment a million times.

Atheism is also the LACK of belief in Gods.. Early men lacked beliefs in Gods, so they are atheists!
Can you please elaborate how "Early Men" lacked belief in Gods? You mean they were pagans or something? How did you arrive at that?

Lol, the way u pounced out, I actually thought u have something to say.

No one knows how humans got here, no one knows how the world started.
If u say it's was Gods making, it still does not answer anything... Because it implies there was already a world where God lived before he stated designing earth and creating humans.
Stop asking dumb questions pls

Why atheists are perturbed each time GOD is mentioned seriously wonders me! You guys show inordinate hypertensive obsession for any matter that concerns GOD'S undeniable existence, supremacy and eternity. Stop worrying about others' belief in GOD! You, like most atheists, will certainly cry for GOD'S mercy at your final moments on this earth.
Exactly my thought brother!. I wonder how scared an atheist would be when he finds himself at the point of death. Questions like "what if the supernatural exists after all" will be all over his mind.
My opinion anyway is that if atheists are right about God being inexistent, they have absolutely nothing to lose. Also, if Christians are right about the existence of God, they have absolutely nothing to lose too. We shall all die to find out the truth, no one lives forever.
I have no problem whatsoever with atheists, I don't expect a negative quote.
