Digbick: I think the reason why he and someone like me applied to Japan is because of the ban on US non immigrant visa from Nigeria. I got 329 too in GRE and I applied to a university in Japan also, we can call Japan a re-japa country. Exactly.. I was given a $100,000 dean scholarship by Olin, the embassy refused to allow me to go. It's well sha |

Gerrard59: Why a master's since you have work experience? A Master's isn't advisable for accounting grads unless they want to go into academia. With your solid GRE score (honestly, that's a terrific score and the reason I had to comment), you're better off applying to the MBA program at Hitotsubashi University, which is also a national university - standardised tuition fees. Another good school is Doshisha University. If you cannot get into any of those universities, which I really doubt, considering your GRE, just focus on any national university in Tokyo or Kanagawa. You need to be where the jobs are.
P.S. To improve your chances, you need to know Japanese at a certain level, especially as immigration rules have been changed to mandate Japanese proficiency in job placements. Lastly, why Japan? Nigerians who score so high in GRE don't opt for Japan, and certainly not social sciences grads.
p.s. Hitotsubashi, because if you score above 300 in the GRE or its equivalent in the GMAT, you get a half scholarship, and since yours is 2 marks away from a perfect score, the admission committee would be stunned and elated to have you. So a full scholarship is very possible. Hitotsubashi is acclaimed for its social science programs, even more so than the University of Tokyo. Also, check Keio University and Waseda University. You need to utilise your first class and GRE score to the fullest. So apply to strictly the top 1% of Japanese universities. don't dull o. Honestly, in my opinion, if none of the universities I listed here offers you a full scholarship with living allowances, attend Lagos Business School of the business school attached to the University of Cape Town. Waoh..... this is detailed. Thanks so much. I really appreciate this. Do you suggest I look into a different country? |

Digbick: For MBA, no need contacting a professor but for others I think you might need to secure a professor first before applying which will also boost your scholarship stand as the professor might recommend you to some scholarship you can benefit from. All the best. Thanks so much |

Alapereketu: With a first-class degree and a high 338 GRE score, you are a strong candidate for top Japanese business schools. For research-focused Master’s in Accounting, contacting a professor is essential, but for professional MBA programs (like IUJ), it is rarely required. Ok.... thank you so much. Let me do my research on good national/public university offering mba with good funding. Please any recommended scholarship to target? |

Greetings all.
I came across this tread few days ago. I am planning to seek a masters in Accounting or MBA admission in Japan this year (or next year, if this year is not feasible anymore, especially for the sake of scholarship)
Going through the tread, i saw people mentioning searching for a professor in the department and putting oneself under his/her wing before applying. Does this apply to MBA or masters in accounting too?
I have a first class degree in Accounting from OAU. A GRE score of 338 and years of work experience.
Any guidance will be appreciated on how to go about this, as i am ready to go this route now.
Scholarship recommendations will also be appreciated. I am already target the IUJ japan scholarship against 2027. |

Good evening everyone
I’m new to this Canada express entry, and I would appreciate any help I can receive, as I wish to do it myself
I am 27 years old, with three years of work experience. Currently an ABO in bank.
I have a B.Sc in Accounting, ND in Accounting, and also in my Professional ICAN stage
Please am I good enough to start the journey (I could see something like CRS score)?
Also how many degree does that amount to after doing WES evaluation?
Thanks |
