Mr President is not the one that says "oh let us trade-in one of the jets", that's not how it is done. It is those who are responsible for the maintenance of these jets that in their expertise and knowledge will put forward the proposal and make the president see why it has to be done. however the image being portrayed is that the President just sits in his office and comes up with ideas on how to spend money on frivolities.

In your mind u think someone like buhari will allow a free n fair election if he's a president? What obj did on elections in his time would b child's play, u don't know who buhari is! people that understood governance when he was president for 2 yrs n know the powers of d president as stipulated in d constitution wouldn't want an old general there.
I seriously believe from the way people reason had it been abacha was still alive they would have clamoured for him to contest for president after all he had d meanest anticorruption stance- singlehandedly ended 419 in Nigeria.
Let's leave all this generals that helped cripple this country go rest n look for younger vibrant leaders, if APC does that many wouldn't mind voting them in 2019 (that's bc posterity wouldn't allow buhari rule this country again).

The Nigerian Air Force currently maintains a Boeing Business Jet (737) as a means of transport for the President of Nigeria. The plane is also known as "Eagle One" and is marked NAF-001. The national colors of the Nigerian Flag (Green, White, Green), are painted in long horizontal stripes along the base of the white fuselage, the words "NIGERIAN AIR FORCE" are tagged on the top, and the Seal of the President of Nigeria is embossed on the tail. In addition, there is a Gulfstream V-SP, a Gulfstream 550, two Falcon 7Xs, a Do228-200, and 3 A139 choppers. The Falcon 900s (two), a GIV-SP, and G II were all sold. A Citation Bravo and Hawker 800 were returned to the Air Force.

Other questions u should ask yourself is who purchased this fleet n who sold some of them?
Give GEJ a break blame d constitution that abacha promulgated. When GEJ in his early tenure proposed a cut in money allocated to d president office n other political office holders NASS inclusive, d NASS outrageously kicked against it. If he's actually asked for a trade in of this aircraft I'm definitely sure its to reduce cost. You'll b amazed to know how much people in government use to maintain some cars for a year- its an avenue to loot, u would even advice they trade it in for new ones

WHY is it difficult for us to raise fresh blood, with fresh and dynamic ideas to steer the affairs of this country? I do not know. We have the Fasholas, Oshiomholes, Amaechis, Ribadus before he switched over to the PDP and so many other vibrant fellows in the APC party, yet, they have again, chosen to go the recycled route by bringing in Mohammadu Buhari as their presidential candidate. Is Mohammadu Buhari the real deal?
Going through the book “ MKO ABIOLA-TO MAKE WHOLE AGAIN” by Abimbola Awofeso, published by Update Communications Limited 1990, from pages 15 to 24, you will find an assessment of Mohammadu Buhari’s administration. By the way, Awofeso is also a nephew to the great sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. The chapter is titled; “All-Round Misery: Retrenchment, Roll-Back….”
I quote from page 18 “….since the Buhari administration came to power, its policy on public sector spending has resulted in all round misery: retrenchment of public sector workers, roll back in social services, particularly in the area of health care, the re-introduction of school fees, the closure of educational institutions, the re-imposition of certain obnoxious taxes and levies and the suspension of new capital projects.
All these have negative implications for the country’s long range development….with such deflationary policies as has been put in place by the Buhari regime, shows that we are headed for unmitigated disaster. As for the planned privatization, this is no more than a camouflage for concentrating the nation’s wealth in ever fewer hands……still, it cannot be said that its attempt at streamlining import licensing and foreign exchange disbursement procedure has been a roaring success. Racketeering persists and those who have no business having import licenses still do so.
The government’s performance in the area of debt management is even poorer. Apart from the questionable wisdom of using over 40 per cent of the country’s export earnings to service debts, it is open to question whether the government has fully investigated and verified all the outstanding debt obligations it is now attempting to settle……In the area of inflation and distribution, the government successes, if any, have been limited. Officially estimated at about 40 percent the rate of inflation is still debilitating to the generality of Nigerians whose incomes, under the income policy guidelines, are not expected to increase substantially (especially for those in paid employment).
As for distributive trade, the major actors of old appear to have been back in business; the Lebanese and Levantine merchandisers still control that business with the result that prices are still high and scarcities persist…….If there is any area of public policy in which the present government has been most inactive, that area has to do with the problem of unemployment…..It is a sad commentary on government’s commitment to tackling unemployment that although it set up a committee sometime last year to study the matter, as at this moment, the report of that committee is yet to be made public, let alone implemented..”
The above was the assessment of Buhari’s administration as highlighted in the above quoted book. There is more but due to space constraintone cannot highlight more which accounts the very little sympathies and resistance when he was overthrown from government.
That is the man our present day progressives are trumpeting as the messiah that will bring the much needed change for this country. Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo once stated publicly that: “You cannot change a man in old age”, in reference to the late Adedibu’s excesses.
The big challenge for this country is producing the right leadership, not, a has been, with very obvious and questionable credentials. What this country needs now, is a radical departure from the normal. We need a youthful, focused, detribalised, enlightened, idea filled and go-getter leader who is able to ‘walk his talk.’
Recycling is bad. It is even worse when the individual we are promoting has passed his prime. That was how Obasanjo was brought in, the result of his actions and inactions are still reverberating till date. Incidentally, people are still running to him for directions. Every fault of Jonathan is rooted in Obasanjo; he planned, masterminded and executed the ascension of Jonathan to power. He also trained him in government, the PDP way, the platform Obasanjo instituted, which is the one the PDP is religiously using till date.
We are very forgetful in this country and lazy at recollecting the past. Our leaders are always leading us on the path of perdition, for their own selfish purpose(s), not for the general interest of the people. That is the choice the APC has made with Buhari as their presidential candidate. One can only wish them good luck.

When Goodluck contested in 2011 he didn't give all this bogus promises but immediately got our telecommunication satellite launched that same year giving us improved internet services.
Today we assemble cars n one can afford a brand new car with 1.8m + d job opportunities created
There's been massive employment especially in d education sector of our universities n new universities established with job employments.
Farmers are massively supported n electricity is worked on n has improved in some places like were I am presently.
Buhari's slogan is stopping corruption but I c nothing good he'll bring to d table; he's semi-literate if u heard some of his interviews n d speech after d APC presidential primary- couldn't even read fluently n couldn't
pronounce many words written for him.
We need people with ideas preferably a young n vibrant president, I would have preferred kwakwaso to did buhari of a thing. If, God forbid, he gets there he'll reverse must of GEJ policies n throw thousands out of work like he did when he bc military ruler. He should go back n rest at his age, people at that age retrogress intellectually.

A chunk of d 30 trillion was used to pay salaries of federal civil servants, or maybe civil servants have not been paid for 6 yrs

Boko haram started in yaradua's time, its d north invention. Having preached hate for Christians over d years their product of hate-their extremist children took up guns n bombs to kill Christians n now they've turned on the Moslems that are against their cause, book haram is an insurgency n it takes time to deal with it. How many kidnappings of white men n bombing of oil pipelines that are used to feed your stomach have u heard of in his time? That's part of dealing with insurgency in nigeria- south-south, dealing with that of the north is work in progress n its yielding results now bc d locals have decided to co-perate with d govt.

Op I can't ascertain some of the things in your list but some things are missing in the state were I am.
In Akwa Ibom State the federal roads have been worked on, learnt d state governors in d south-south were told to get the the federal roads fixed n after the money will be refunded to them. Governor Godswill Akpabio did a good job on the roads; itu-calabar road ( akwa ibom part), ikot ekpene road in abak leading to ikot ekpene n many others I don't have a name to.
Besides power has improved compared to obj times

-deprived many of their fundamental human rights more than any ruler in Nigeria has ever done.
- showed outright ethnic bias in delivering justice
-executed people by applying d law in retrospect amidst d cry of d world at large against it.
-made thousand loss their job
-overthrew a democratically elected government n didn't place structures to return to democracy
-d naira made a 107% devaluation

A man who as a civilian
-served in abacha's regime n claimed abacha stole nothing from d country
-hasn't accounted for billions of ptdf funds
-despised a reconciliation panel when called upon

Let him finish what he's started railway scheme, power generation etc. Buhari is surely not going to bring the change we desire just as good luck didn't bring the change we desire BC of the thieves that installed them there. If good luck fails by 2019 then I'll not only vote against PDP but rig against them. GMB, I'll vote u in 2019
