Health / British Man Might Be First In The World To Be Cured Of HIV by bondingman: 1:07pm On Dec 07, 2016
A 44-year-old British man may have become the first person in the world to be cured of HIV .
Tests showed the virus had become undetectable in the blood of the previously HIV-positive man, after he was treated with a pioneering new therapy designed to eradicate the virus.
Researchers have cautioned that it is too early to tell if the treatment has really worked but said the man, a social worker, had made "remarkable progress".
The patient was the first of 50 people to complete a trial of the ambitious treatment which launches a two-stage “kick and kill” attack on the virus.
The new therapy is unique in that it tracks down and destroy HIV in every part of the body —including in the dormant cells that evade current treatments.
“This is one of the first serious attempts at a full cure for HIV,” Mark Samuels of Britain's National Institute for Health Research told The Sunday Times.
”This is a huge challenge and it's still early days, but the progress has been remarkable," he said.
The clinical trials, which are being paid for by the NHS, are the result of a collaboration between doctors and scientists at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, University College London and King's College London.
HIV in numbers
The man, who has not been named, said he participated in the trial to help others with the disease.
HIV, which stands for ”human immunodeficiency virus,“ is mainly transmitted through sexual acts or by using infected needles. The virus weakens a person's immune system by destroying T-cells which are crucial to fighting disease and infection.
About 36.7 million people are living with HIV worldwide, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Antiretroviral therapies target and suppress active infected cells but they leave millions of dormant infected T-cells lying in wait throughout the body. This means existing treatments can effectively control HIV but do not cure the disease.
 Preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS
The new treatment, however, would both suppress infections and kill the reservoir of dormant cells, The Sunday Times reported.
Sarah Fidler, a consultant physician and professor at Imperial College London, said medical tests of the potentially breakthrough therapy would continue for the next five years.
”It has worked in the laboratory and there is good evidence it will work in humans too,“ Ms Fidler said. ”But we must stress that we are still a long way from any actual therapy." http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/british-man-hiv-aids-medical-trial-breakthrough-cured-a7341801.html
Health / After Countless Years Of Study, HIV/AIDS Now Has A Cure! by bondingman: 12:59pm On Dec 07, 2016
HIV/AIDS are first observed in the United States in the year 1981. The usual cases are from injection drug users, gay men with no known cause of impaired immunity, which shows symptoms of a rare opportunistic infection that occurs in a much compromised immune system.
Most of the people carrying the disease are not aware that they are infected with the virus. Sexual intercourse is the usual reason and the mode in transmitting HIV. It is present in the seminal fluid which is passed from male to female.
There are two types of HIV, HIV-1, and HIV-2 . The first one is very infective that causes the majority of the infections globally. Studies show that HIV-2 is considered as the less infective one.
After many years of studies and finding a cure, a drug has been discovered and will be given to the patients by NHS England . It is said to have trials on over 10,000 people, most at risk of acquiring HIV. It will also serve as a way for them to figure out the duration in taking the drug, for them to get the right people and how popular it would be.
Pre-exposure prophylaxis or PreP is a medicine that should be taken daily which helps in reducing HIV. Aside from it saves money, it also helps to stop the infection from spreading in the body. It reduces the high risk of getting the disease from sex and can be lower with the use of condoms and methods for prevention.
According to the chairman of NHS England's Group, Dr. Ian Williams, "This announcement demonstrates NHS England's commitment to fund Prep and provides the chance to best prepare England for optimal roll-out following this large-scale clinical trial." This is another big step in the history of medicine and in fighting HIV.

Buhari
He took over from a Nigeria of fastest growing economy in Africa and 3rd fastest growing economy in the world
and under one year, Nigeria is not even among the 15 fastest growing economy in Africa and already in recession.

On Buhari’s return in May 2015, he has within this short period, turned Africa’s biggest and fastest growing economy to a shrinking one. Crashing the GDP from about 7.0% to 2.4%, Inflation jumping to 11.6% from 9%, over 2 million Nigerians losing their jobs, FDI dropped by over 85%, Maternal and Infant mortality is at all time high as result of poverty, malnutrition and diseases.

The life of a cow is far more important than 10 human lives to a Fulani nomad.
Buhari is a Fulani that owns herds of cows and definitely has same notions as the many nomads that kill innocent lives because of their cows.
Just live with it, COWS are more important than humans in this regime.

Politics / REVEALED | Real Reasons Why Buhari Aborted Trip To Ogoniland by bondingman: 8:29pm On Jun 12, 2016
Reports are now coming out on why President Muhammadu Buhari aborted his trip
to Ogoniland. A top -placed security source in the presidency has opined that if it
was not for the security report of the US government, Nigerians would have woken
up to a new story.
The source added that though militants had threatened to carry out their “threat to
assassinate the president”, it was the reports from the U.S, which advised him
against the proposed visit to Ogoniland , that made him to abort the trip.
The Niger Delta Avengers had threatened to attack Buhari , who was to flag off the
cleaning of Ogoniland but changed his plans at the last minute by sending his
deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to represent him at the event.
When queried on the supposed superiority of the militants’ weapons to that of the
president ’s security apparatus , the source said, though Buhari might have escaped
unhurt, there would still have been many casualties due to the exchange of firepower
. “It was actually the US government that said we should not go there and we later
realised that it was a good advice.
They made us to understand that from their intelligence report, those guys were
going to act as planned. Even the DSS agreed with them that we should not go.
When the matter was tabled, and we were confronted with evidences , we all realised
that those guys were not joking at all. “It is not that they will over power the
presidential guard , no , far from it, the security of any president is not a child’s play
. It is just that those militants would have wanted to make a point and there would
have been serious casualties.
When our correspondent probed further on the veracity of the claim, and sought to
know how the intelligence report was relayed to Buhari , he simply said there were
normal channels of communication between both countries. “There are ways the two
countries share intelligence reports . The security people frequently exchange such
reports and there is a way they go about it.
On our side , we know when they are telling the truth, this is one of such times .
“You know there are times we don ’t take them serious but when you see facts that
are incontrovertible , it is better to heed than regret later ,” he said.
Avengers give condition for ceasefire Giving the Federal Government a condition to
cease hostilities , the militants wrote: “we are calling on the international community
, to come and support the restoration of our right to peaceful self determination from
this tragedy of 1914 that has expired since 2014 . “ We want our resources back to
restore the essence of human life in our region for generations to come because
Nigeria has failed to do that . The world should not wait until we go the Sudan ways
. Enough is enough . ”

Ur statistics are correct.
But GEJ and his silly Cordinating Minister of the Economy had already set us on the wrong cause and we were bound to end here no matter who was in charge. Just acknowledge it and forgo malice.
GEJ and NOI set us on the path this government is tasking to reduce recurrent expenditure and block leakages viz. IPPIS and TSA.
We would never have been here if someone like NOI was still in charge of the economy but no need to go there bc she's not in charge.

U really are a deliberate liar or have no idea what u are talking about.
Let me educate u.
To start with I'll never mention crude oil as an excuse because it still baffles me how we got stuck in this mess with successive government repeating the same mistake. But since u want to use it as a platform for lying, let talk a bit further...In 20yrs Nigeria lost its position as Africa's number crude oil export to Angola for just one day...that was Friday last week and Angola beat Nigeria by just around 200,000 barrels and the following day we took over and has never stopped despite the ND Avengers follies.
I'll accept ur statistics on the economy because its the truth.

Now come with more lies. I'm waiting.
Ironically the govt. is not telling us the truth of the extent the NDA's have made on our crude production.
With the number of pipelines bombed, one should decipher that there's a drastic drop in production therefore what been reported is most likely true.
10 days ago this is where we were on production http://nigeria.shafaqna.com/EN/NG/2593031
More pipelines been bombed after that and its dropped further.

Now tell me which country is Afirca's fastest growing economy.

By the way, food (staple) prices boomeranged all over the world. There were signs of it in GEJ's time because I remember Bismack Rilwan warning Okonjo-Iweala on her policies.
Coted'voire is presently the fastest growing economy in Africa, followed by Tanzania.
Nigeria is not even among the 15 fastest growing economy in Africa, not even 15!! from 1st in Africa, 3rd in world.
If that's not failure what is it.
Let me not hear you say crude price, Nigeria is not the only country that depends on crude in Africa but its the worst hit because of government policies.

GEJ left Nigeria with crude production of 2.2 million barrels/day
Bubu has dropped it to about 680,000 barrels/day.
Tell me one thing that's right in this buhari's government?

Which vibrant economy?
Granting rice weaver when we already have rice plants?
Imporrting toothpicks that where already banned by Yar'Adua?
Or officially devaluing the Naira?

Just how vibrant was Nigeria's economy when GEJ left? Enlighten me.
In GEJ era,
Nigeria was the fastest growing economy in Africa and
3rd fastest growing economy in the world.
The agriculture sector had a boom; compare the price of food in his time to that in buharis time for a lay man.
from NBS data more than 2 million people have lost their job in buhari's 1year stay, these are people that were working during GEJ's time; more that 2 million off job, do u know what that does to the economy of a nation? that's like 2 small African countries in population losing job.

six Missiles simultaneously against some targeted areas. But this was waved aside as a
result of appeals made to us through email by the Federal Government and some

So the Nigerian government sent e-mail to them begging them not to launch the said missiles!
How I wish they will publish those e-mails and shame this fraud of a government.
