Sure you can. Though it might have to be an apartment shared with fellow Nigerians (they will understand) and possibly too with a landlord that understands. Oyibo's can be funny most times. Advice: Network well in your search for accommodation. Don't know site your using, try kijiji.ca it might help. All the best.
Khalesi:
If I may say, this thread is badly being derailed with all these admission questions and TRV yarns. Let's be more civilised and adhere to the topic. One comes in here to read up survival scopes and some peep are here asking can I be admitted with 2:2. It's soo annoying a beg! You guys should take your admission and TRV questions to the other tread and have them tackled promptly.

Please let's keep the survival talk going. Where to buy cheap stuff, affordable accommodation, how to manage finances, how to network with better people for the future.

So my own question is I hope to get in for winter session in Uottawa. I will be accompanied by my toddler and need if possible a single bedroom apartment (which isn't common from the sites I've checked). Is it possible to share say a 3bed apartment with other students alongside my toddler? Has anyone seen such practice?

Thanks Bonushadow, yes you are right. I am still in Nigeria but just trying to plan ahead hoping things will go as planned. My Sait application is still in process. How long did it take u to get your Sait admission offer?

Thanks. Are you a student there?
GboyegaD:

I would advise you find a place online before coming or make arrangement of staying with someone for a few days while you find yourself a place of your own.

Good day all,
I recently applied to study in SAIT, Alberta. but
I might only be able to pay for the first semester tuition and probably two months house rent.

My question and fear now, "Is it possible to get a job while studying to be able to pay subsequent semesters, feeding, rent, etc.

Please i need sincere responses urgently

Sound like your still working on your TRV down in Nigeria?
Doing all that you mentioned is step in good direction.

If my 1st statement is right I will advice you put more of your energy in ensuring your SP/TRV seal through/approved and worry less of SAIT or calgary work opportunities.

Following your last question, I doubt you getting a job that big as a student anywhere in Canny that will offset out rightly your tuition , rents etc

Al the best.

TheBae:
Only if English is not your first language so it doesn't apply to Nigerians in most cases. If they ask, tell them that your Bachelors degree was taught in English. You can get a letter from your university if they keep asking. You can also scan your WAEC/NECO certificate or get a scratch card so that the can see that you had at least a C6 in English but they most likely will not ask.
@Godynm. Adding up to what @TheBea has said.
They won't have reasons to ask for the proof if you follow suit. FYI NAIT & SAIT I Gz have similar application steps.(usually ask for Eng. proficiency proof).
So long as have mInimum Eng. C6 in your WAEC/or NECO.
To prove that to them,ff steps
*if your doing paper route application; include a WAEC/or NECO scratch card in your application envelop.( Un-scratched o!)
*if Online route; snap the scratch card side bearing the pin 1st(fig. 1), before scratching it to unveil the pin(now showing the pin) then make another snap showing the pin (fig 2).
Upload both afterwards.(Point: both pic's shows evidence of authenticity). Such worked for a friend.
Thou. I will also advice you call the admission office to aline this *online route step to them.
All the best.

@Graviton2 I hope the worst doesn't happen. In the mean time, you could consider pretending you didn't see the "dispatch" message and go ahead and call VFS to identify what document(s) they are requesting.
@thesoj, nice advice. @graviton2, act as instructed on the mail while delay? What was requested might be sth you wil present to collect ur awaiting trv grin (do i hear u shout that Big Amen? cry good ).
Act fast Bro! Ur trv is waiting 4ur collection.

Hello gud people,

I submitted my application late july nd my skull is resuming middle of september...centennial college

Now my question :s looking at the time range in which application are processed I are it deffers, the fastest have read hre I tink is 3weeks nd some dayz..

Is it advisable I go for upfronth medical examination? or I should wait a mail frm a CIC? as my app will be two weeks this friday ..

when I tracked it says still processing @vfs office lagos ...what do u suggest I do?

As I already have plans mailing the international dept I would likely resume late...but all depends on CIC shebi?

whats ur suggestion people?
Bro! I assume u did paper route?
Emulate @hayqinsFx faith. Having seen the faith of trv hopefuls in here (such that can make a blind to see embarassed ) it will be wise for you to mail the international centre asking for extension as to when to join not minding the outcome of the expected mail from cic. Putting the ff into consideration;
1). Your yet to be called for Medicals, which might come anytime soon.
2) from the thread, to chop ur trv takes likely 2weeks from date Medicals was done (I lay down to be corrected o! undecided )

Lastly, don't think it's admissible to do upfront now since u already have applied.
Now is time for high hopes & prayers.
It's well with us, we will surely have our testimonies.....

not been able to download a form has been delaying you 4 two weeks..... Maybe you have to take it serious, it might be a problem with your browser, you can always try other computers, use a public cafe, borrow an android phone ..and if u still can't download it.. CALL YOUR PASTOR
;Dlol.... Or babalawo if not a Xtain.
Ensure ur device has strong internet signal to download the link.
Look out for error mssg. that might pop-up indicating y ur not able to download. It might be that u need to download an app to enable such.
Or better still run to cafe & save time.

I applied to SAIT and I have submitted my transcript and i got a mail that it has already been forwarded for evaluation but my application status still read missing document . For pple that have successfully applied to SAIT and admitted pls wat next? Wat shuld I do with application status showing missing document? and wat abt the english proficiency requirements wat shuld I do meet the requirement as my undergraduate degree was in English language? Did chemical engineering going for Applied bachelor degree un petroleum engineering
Hey! Buddie, fellow SAIT prospect.
Ignore the missing doc. that is showing on ur MySAIT portal, it will change by the time the evaluation communitte has decided on ur admission.
As for the English proficiency, state to them that ur country NG is English speaking (whc de already know)&u were taught in English altru ur secondary,UG stages. As much as u made ur Eng. course on ur WAEC. In that regards u will pass. Sussex!
That was how I handled it. Am going for IT course.
Status: tru hopeful now
