New 5.7inch Tecno A2 aka Phantom F8: Pros and Cons
First of all, I am disappointed at the latest phone or phablet unveiled by Tecno, called The Tecno A2 aka Phantom F8.



Is this a new line of smartphone? Perhaps it is considering the screen size of the device which is 5.7in almost 6 inches. Devices having this screen size are usually referred to as Phablet. Examples are Samsung Galaxy Note

Perhaps you might ask why I believe that this new smartphone is a disappointment, I will like to present you with its features and specifications.

TECNO A2 AKA F8

Operating System: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Processor: MT6589 quad core 1.2GHz processor with embedded GPU

RAM: 1GB with 4GB internal memory with expandable MicroSD slot to 32GB

Camera: 13 mega pixel back camera and 8 mega pixel front camera. It also has a flash light for taking pictures in low light situation
Video recording capability and image size 720 x 1280.


Display: screen size is 5.7 inch with 720 x 1280 resolution. This means a HD screen.

Connectivity: WiFi and WiFi Hotspot, coupled with Bluetooth 3.0, GPS navigation, USB port and 3.5mm earphone port.

Sensors: this device is embedded with G sensor, Light sensor and proximity sensor

Network: 3.75G/3G/2G with bands GSM900/1800MHz/WCDMA2100MHz. Dual SIM standby with SIM 1 capable of 3G/2G data connectivity while the SIM 2 can only transfer data in 2G band.

Battery capacity: battery is 2630mAh capable of giving 17.3hrs of talk time and 280hrs of standby time.

Other features: FM Radio, Voice recording, eBook reader, supports popular audio, picture and video format by default.
Size: 106 x 82 x 8.9 mm and available in black and white build.

Now you have seen the specifications and you may begin to understand why I believe that I was disappointed with the specs of the device. This I will point out in pros and cons.




Cons
Firstly, the RAM of this device is too low. Most of the device in this product category which "phablet" comed with a RAM of at least 2GB.
Why can't Tecno make this device in 2GB. This would even set it apart from the newly released Infinix Alpha aka Ultimate force.


Secondly, the processor frequency is low. Expected processing frequency was 2GHz and at least 1.7GHz. This being said, this device didn't deliver in this department.

Finally, internal memory shouldn't be less than 8GB considering the camera is 13 mega pixel. Enough space should have been provided to accommodate the image size of photos taken.

Pros
First, a camera size of 13 mega pixel is good. And its a plus for this device. Furthermore, an operating system (OS) of 4.2 is great considering that inifinx offered a lower OS 4.1.2


Finally, the resolution isn't too bad but could have been better so as to compensate for the huge screen size.

Verdict
personally, I will score this device a 6/10 due to the aforementioned cons which are key and germane to a excellent phablet.

F14 go get 2gb ram and all d spec of E6. Maybe them go sell am @14k so it won't be over priced.

If TECNO came up same specification like GIONEE then they are not creative enough to produce theirs, we should be expecting something quite different from high end GIONEE and HTC, something like: 2GB RAM, 2.HZ, 15MP back, 8MP front, 5000MAH Battery, 5.0 inch LCD display, Gorila 3 screen etc, Gesture features on gallary, music and APP, auto command play ( music ) etc .this is how to make or standout from others and make sales.

Htc one came with ultral pixel that we know and 2100mah and so on, Gionee has what no phone ever created.

According to GIONEE they E6 would lunch this August ending, now someone should tell me Gionee e6 and HTC one which one should we look to as something worth going for.

At present Android is at its peak. With new day we are seeing lots of new ROMs for various Android devices. These custom ROMs allows you to taste the latest version of Android OS on your old devices. With the help of Android rooting you can enjoy all the features of latest ROM even if your phone comes with older versions. Android rooting is although an easy process where you only have to follow some pre-defined steps but ask those who are doing it for the first time. They would have found it one of the most challenging and very tough task. So here I have decided to come with one general guide which you can use to root and update any device.


Changes

This guide will remain same for all the devices except following elements:
• ROM Package

• GApps (although it is same but in case if some new advanced version is available then you must go with that)

• Procedure to boot to recovery



How to install latest Android ROMs on any Android device

1. First download the ROM and other (if any) Packages to your computer.

2. Now take the original USB cable and connect your device with the computer.

3. Move the downloaded ROM and other packages to SD card of your device. One done, remove the USB cable and turn your device OFF.

4. Now boot it to recovery mode (procedure varies with devices).

5. Once entered to recovery mode, perform Nandroid Backup. To do this, follow this path in recovery mode: Backup and Restore>Backup option.
It will take some time.

6. Now perform a data wipe operation by sing this path wipe data/factory reset.

7. Once done, select install zip from sd card>choose zip from sd card option and choose the downloaded ROM file. Once the file is selected it will take some time (around 4-5) minutes for complete flashing.

8. Flash all other packages (if any are given) in the same manner. Here you will not have to repeat step 6 and step 7.

9. Once done, select ++++go back++++ and reboot system now options. It will boot your system to normal mode (with latest ROM).

Congrats! You have successfully installed latest ROM on your device. In case if you have any doubts or confusions, then please ask by commenting below.

I got this smart from ABA last week Saturday to be very very since with you enjoyed it more than techno F7 that got stollen, the battery last more than techno and picture quality boom and above all OTA upgrade soon to 4.3 hmmmmm I no fit shout. Up GIONEE
