Hi everyone, pls am trying to apply to rhein waal university(Msc summer). Is it compulsory to take english language test.

you must show a standardized language test score such as toefl 80 or ielts 6.0 both for bsc and ielts 6.5 or toefl 100 all minimum scores. no waivers for us.

Your waec certificate is a biograpraphically old doc (assuming you're going for msc) . As for the certificate , they've didn't request for it from the last couple of peeps that did their interviews of recent .
It's safe to say you're good to go .

Oga, to add to the comments above, pls and pls, make sure you get to the embassy on or before 7am cos anytime from 7am, you may be denied entry. during my blocked accout opening, the man bounced alot of people from 7am. infact, he gave us a list around 6:55am to start filling. so anyone who's name is not found would be sent back. I got there around 6:20am

pls everyone should take note.

i want to thank everybody on this thread on their useful contributions so far. i received letters of admission from fh kaiserslautern and hs rhinewaal to study msc mechanical engineering on the 4th and today respectively.also was issued a leave for some weeks today in my place of work. i will like to know the current amount to be paid at the embassy for the db account opening, secondly i want somebody to give me a detailed description on how to get to the german embassy from iyana paja as i will be staying with a friend there. my enrolment deadline for the both schools is 21oct and 15nov respectively. once again i thank you all,hope to get ur response asap

They probably asked for letters of recommendation in lieu of the essays (last year's guideline)
For TU Hamburg, if you have checked and it wasn't required then you can send at your discretion. If it doesn't form part of the basis for their admission decision, they will simply set it aside, no harm done.

try and check d requirement from course website u will be applying for in tum.@eke I am about applying for computational mechanics at tum notin like essay was asked;but they asked for letter of motivation. a programme I applied for at tu hamburg did not include letter of motivation as part of their requirement; do u tink I should apply without it; or should include it despite the fact that it was not asked.

No fear, motivation letters come in different formats. Its not compulsory...Even more times than not, school addresses are not included. Google had given you a clue already.

some schools tuition no too high; but if ur pocket fit cover d expenses I go advise u make u try; if not follow d German train where tuition na zero for most schools except for block account wen be 8050euros or there about. if u no get d money try find some one in Germany wen go sponsor u; but he go at least 1500euro every month; d person no go get debt profile sha. like me I no know anybody for Germany; I be done deal hussle some moni so as I see dis Germany thread I come reason say dere is no better way to invest did mini than to run go Germany by God's grace go study. I no get moni for cana tins unless I hussle more . and my oga at the top here wan use work kill my enemy and he no dey pay higher. @eke and other gurus. abeg when writing a letter of motivation do I need to include d address of the school. cos some have submitted so far; I did not include any address. just followed the format I saw on Google; my co worker here has placed me on serious tension; he said I should have included the school address. abeg make una enlighten me on this; so DAT if an mistake make I know.d format I followed showed why I want to study d programme; wat qualifies me; what interest/knowledge I have to successfully complete d prog. though I started with dear sir/ madam. make una no laugh me sha.

bro what was d reason for d refusal, it seems getting admission into german unis is a tug of war, considering ur cgpa and ur high toefl score i taught u would have got it. anyway i wish u success in other applications.@eke abeg my oga, is it possible for someone to learn german in one month and pass german proficiency exam level A1.the person will be going to a lang sch during d period

Like it wasn't signed at all ?? It doesn't have his name written anywhere he could sign against ?? Is it at least drafted on the School's letterhead ? It would look unofficial if it wasn't signed at all. You'll have to try asking him to sign it.

the letter head was written in d sch and dept name. anyway i will find time to see him today so as to clarify dis issue. anyway tanks bro

I think you might be right. I remember I once did a course search on daad.de and I didn't find anything on it but when I googled, I found about 8 of it listed but most of them were taught in german courses. Not so sure as to why so but your comment has got me thinking that's possible but on the other hand, EKE might be right too. He mentioned 90% which means that courses that are not listed on daad.de might exist too

bro i collected a recommendation letter from a lecturer in my school today, i decided to open it and check but to my suprise it was neither stamped nor signed. just want to know if this is d standard procedure,cos others i posted i did not check.

I have been silently following this thread and have read most of thread 1 and of course up to date on thread 2.

I have applied to a couple of universities (online) and only need to send my documents which is being delayed because I want to send a recent transcript instead of the one i have which is dated a couple of years ago.

I would really like anyone with experience in the admission process of Uni of Stuttgart to enlighten me because after applying online (Info Tech, MSc), I was contacted that I scaled the first phase and that I only send a pdf copy of my transcript which i did (CGPA 3.71). I was then emailed that a decision report will be sent on or around March 1, 2015 which will indicate qualification to the next stage or disqualification. I did send them a mail today to try and figure out if the decision will mean admittance pending documentation and others or if it is simply to qualify to another evaluation stage. This is why i need anyone that is familiar with their process to shine more light.

I also did ask if they have gotten my TOEFL (scored 107) report from ETS but they just left out that part because I am hoping that my TOEFL will also add more butter to my bread at their end.

I am married and will be hoping to have my family (wife (B.Sc Bus. Admin) and toddler son) tag along because 2 years is too long a time to be away from them ooo. From responses to Sekinat's questions, I see that a total of 16,100euros is needed in block account (correct or not?) to cover for all Dependants.My question is that if I can provide the money, is it doable to have my family come along with me (if all goes as plan by God's grace)?

I submitted to Stuttgart, Offenburg, TUM and Hamburg for now. I would also like a bit of analysis on the four and what my chances are at first glance.

i applied to tu hamburg for msc production management programme. after applying online, i wastold to submit d hard copies of d required documents, which i have not sent because of ielts. got it now hope to send by next week, which of d programmes did u apply for at tuhh.

i used ielts buddy. go to ielts buddy site and download the materials online, for both the written and speaking test

apply for the ielts academic. just checked my result online this morning got band6.5. i thank God because i did not prepare well because of my work.

Which msc programme are u applying to?

Did u satisfy the basic requirement for d programme?

Is admission for the programme restricted, I mean the admission quota, restricted class size ?

Hope you MLetter matched ur interests, previous knowledge and future plans?

With a cgpa of 4.2, u should get admission, I am sure something is fundamentally wrong with ur application.?

b.eng in production engineering. i will be applying for production management at tuhh , computational mechanics at tum,to mention a few. last year i applied to tu cotbus for environmental and resource management and fh sudwestfalen systems engineering and engineering management. got rejects for both app. i will say i met d requirement since uni assist forwarded both app. during my 300L in school i had 7 carry overs due to some challenges i was facing then, i rewrote them and passed with good grades though it lead to my spill over and i still graduated with a cgpa of 4.2. i dont know if this is d cause of d rejection letters i got. d motivation letter was not part d requirement though i added it to my app. it was not stated if admission to d both programmes where restricted or open.

Sorry about the refusal bro, you don't have to give up on admission to Winter 2015 as application is still going on till earliest March 31st. You may also need to consider the relevance of your Bsc with the desired Msc course during subsequent applications. Cheers

i believe u mean SS2015,Thought deadline for most school is jan15.pls let me know d school whose deadline is march 31, de school dat rejected me said dat my bsc course is not in conformity with d masters dat i applied for. d second school did not give any reason but said i should reapply for WS2016

i applied to 2 german universities, one during ws2015 and the other durin SS2015. unfortunately i had rejects 4 both, though i graduated with a cgpa of 4.22, i dont know if it is because i had some carry overs in my third year which lead to a spillover. i will be writing ielts on sat 7 jan 2015. dis time i will be needing d help of d gurus in d house during app 4 WS2016. thanks to all d guys dat have been contributing useful info here.
