Foreign Affairs › US Overtakes Saudi Arabia And Russia As Top Oil Exporter by Botragelad(op): 6:09am On Jun 12 |
The United States has become the world leader in oil exports, stretching a long-standing order that was previously dominated by Saudi Arabia and Russia. This shift strengthens the position of American companies on global energy markets amid the conflict with Iran, which is reshaping global energy trade.
This turning point was a significant shift for a country that for decades depended on oil supplies from the Middle East and endured the 1973 oil embargo in response to support for Israel. Over the years, the United States began to dominate both gas and oil production thanks to the development of shale production, first rising to the top of the global gas sector, and later to the top of global oil production.
The order shifted with events of 2026: the war between the United States and Iran disrupted Saudi oil exports since February 2026, and reductions in Russian oil supplies due to Ukraine’s actions and international sanctions intensified pressure on the global market. As a result, the United States became the leader in oil and petroleum products exports.
In May, crude oil and fuel exports from the United States rose to about 10.5 million barrels per day thanks to high production and the use of strategic reserves, which allowed the leading position to be maintained for the third consecutive month. According to specialized vessel-tracking services, Russia imported about 7 million barrels per day, while Saudi Arabia imported about 5.9 million barrels per day.
Compared with 2025, Saudi Arabia exported about 8.1 million barrels per day, while the United States shipped to world markets 6.6 million barrels per day, and Russia about 5.8 million barrels per day.
The new dominance could weaken the traditional influence of OPEC and its allies on fuel prices. For a long time, the United States has been criticized for market manipulation and oil-supply policy. Also in 2022–2026, the United Arab Emirates emerged as one of the key players that had previously remained within OPEC but later recalibrated their participation in the cooperation.
In many aspects this resembles the role that OPEC and Saudi Arabia played with production reserves, but it is more of a market mechanism than a strategic instrument.
Additionally, there is an expectation that the United States will be able to exert some influence over partners because of their dependence on American supplies. This concerns, in particular, European countries, which initially perceived increases in energy efficiency from the United States as an alternative to Russian and Middle Eastern supplies, but at the same time stressed the risks of excessive dependence on a single source.
Now it is clear what leverage the United States has over some countries, because they depend on the United States when it comes to their oil or gas.
Europe has also faced pressure from the United States on trade-regulatory issues and regional policy, underscoring the interdependence between energy security and economic decisions. Moscow, meanwhile, expresses disappointment with the new energy reality in which the United States has again become a major player on world markets.
Overall, global energy is undergoing fundamental changes: U.S. crude oil and liquid fuels production since 2000 has nearly tripled and reaches about 22 million barrels per day. At the same time, Saudi Arabia fluctuates within 10–12 million barrels per day depending on OPEC quotas, and Russia has consistently held around 10 million barrels per day since the 2020s. World oil demand rose from about 87 million barrels per day in 2010 to around 104 million barrels per day last year, with a significant share of the growth coming from the American oil boom.
In 2015 the United States lifted the 40-year ban on oil exports, opening the door to a global oil supply chain. Today, growth to significant export volumes is mainly based on the private sector and market incentives, not on government-led plans.
In the future, the United States’ hybrid approach to production and exports may leave levers of influence on global prices: when oil prices rise, companies expand production, pushing prices down; when prices weaken, they cut production, supporting prices higher. These processes highlight the market’s role but also emphasize the geopolitical weight of global energy flows.
Europe and Asia continue to increase their dependence on American supplies. Europe’s share of total U.S. exports this year stood at about 47%, while Asia’s share approached 46% in May, signaling a global realignment in the world oil trade.
Thus, the shift in the United States’ status as the largest exporter of oil is changing not only the country’s economy but also the global energy architecture, influencing policy, trade, and the balance of power in the world. Source: https://mezha.net/eng/bukvy/9995209b_us_overtakes_saudi/

Foreign Affairs › Rumors Intensify: IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi Eliminated by Botragelad(op): 12:53pm On Jun 08 |
It's not the first time these rumors have circulated, but this time it looks more likely that Ahmad Vahidi, leader of IRGC, has finally been eliminated.
Social media and Iranian opposition channels are buzzing with unverified claims that Maj. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi, commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in overnight Israeli airstrikes on the Iranian capital.
As of Monday, June 8, 2026, there is no official confirmation from Iranian state media, the IRGC, Israeli officials, or major international news organizations.
What We Know So Far
Rumors surfaced early Monday claiming Vahidi was targeted after reportedly issuing fresh threats against Israel. Opposition-linked accounts and some social media users posted images and messages mourning him as a “martyr,” but these have not been substantiated. Israeli strikes on Tehran were reported overnight, with explosions heard in the city, but no specific details on high-value targets have been released by either side.
Vahidi, a hardline IRGC veteran, was appointed IRGC commander-in-chief on March 1, 2026, following the deaths of his predecessors in earlier rounds of the conflict.
He previously served as:
Commander of the Quds Force (1988–1998) Iran’s Defense Minister and Interior Minister A key figure accused by Argentina of involvement in the 1994 AMIA bombing in Buenos Aires (85 killed; Interpol red notice issued) His rapid rise came amid heavy losses in the IRGC leadership during the 2025–2026 war with Israel and the US.
This claim emerges against a backdrop of repeated high-level assassinations in Iran. If confirmed, Vahidi’s death would represent another significant blow to the IRGC command structure. Source:https://www.jfeed.com/news-world/ahmad-vahidi-irgc-commander

Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Strikes Iran In Retaliation For Iranian Attacks by Botragelad(op): 7:11am On Jun 08 |
What even goes on in the heads of Iran’s rulers? They launch barrages of missiles at Israel, Israel intercepted, without hitting any meaningful targets. Did they seriously think they could attack Israel and not get hit back? Or were they banking on Trump and the U.S. to stop Bibi from retaliating?
Then Israel strikes back and hits multiple targets and facilities deep inside Iran with ease. The difference is obvious. If Israel started firing missiles blindly into Iran the way Iran does toward Israel, the destruction could be huge. Iranian cities and infrastructure could be devastated. Yet Israel shows restraint and targets military and strategic sites instead of just unleashing everything it has.
Iran will throw the first punch, Israel hits back harder, and ordinary Iranians end up paying the price for the regime’s decisions. |

No surprise nobody here is talking about this. If it were negative news about the US, you’d already see Writterng and God1000 flooding the place with propaganda.
A group of confused juntas staged a coup, grabbed power, and now the country is falling apart. Attackers are closing in, and there’s no real plan in sight. That’s what happens when you seize control without knowing what you’re doing, then lean on Russia, a country that’s struggled for years to even handle its own backyard.
Now Russia will likely pull back, leaving Mali to deal with the mess alone, like Syria, Venezuela, etc. And watch the same fake pan-Africanists will somehow twist this to blame the US.
Coups just breed more chaos, more violence, and more failure. Welcome to the reality of Mali under military rule. Let’s see how it plays out.

In a statement on Saturday the military said "fighting is ongoing", adding "our defence and security forces are currently engaged in repelling the attackers".
Witnesses have told the Reuters news agency of explosions and gunfire around the Kati military base, a major installation outside the capital. Soldiers have been deployed to block off roads in the area.
There are also reports of attacks in Gao and Kidal in the north and Sevare in central Mali, in what an analyst describes as the largest jihadist attack in years.
One resident, who was travelling back to Bamako from Ethiopia, told the BBC that all flights into the city were cancelled early on Saturday. It is not yet clear whether the reported attacks have affected the airport.
The UK's foreign office has advised against all travel to Mali following the attacks, adding that Bamako International Airport is temporarily closed. Meanwhile, the US Embassy there has told citizens to shelter in place and avoid travel, citing explosions and gunfire around the airport and near Kati.
While some residents describe calm in most parts of Bamako, there are ongoing reports of gunfire in some areas. Checkpoints have been established on roads leading to the airport and vehicles are being searched, reports say.
Ulf Laessing, head of the Sahel Programme at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Mali, told the BBC the incident appears to be the "largest coordinated jihadist attack on Mali for years".
Mali's military said it is fighting unidentified "terrorist groups" and the situation was under control, but unconfirmed reports suggest fighting continues. Videos circulating on social media suggest involvement of the jihadist group Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) and Tuareg Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) rebels.
Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadane, a spokesperson for the FLA, said on social media that its forces had taken control of several positions in Gao and Kidal. He also urged neighbouring countries Burkina Faso and Niger not to intervene. The BBC has not been able to verify these claims.
Armed members pictured in Kidal Mali is currently ruled by a military junta led by Gen Assimi Goïta, who first seized power in a coup in 2020, promising to restore security and push back armed groups.
The junta had popular support when it took power, promising to deal with the long-running security crisis prompted by a separatist rebellion in the north by ethnic Tuaregs, which was then hijacked by Islamist militants.
The UN peacekeeping mission and French forces had been deployed in 2013 to deal with the escalating insurgency.
Both have left since the junta took over, and the military government has hired Russian mercenaries to tackle the insecurity.
However, the jihadist insurgency has continued and large parts of the north and east of the country remain outside government control.
Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso recently left the West African bloc Ecowas to form the Alliance of Sahel States. The bloc aims to share resources, build infrastructure, create a common market and currency and allow free movement of people, with the long-term goal of deeper integration.
All three countries are currently led by military governments following a series of coups. Source:https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clyx7nnrkqdo

Foreign Affairs › Magyar Follows Orbán's Lead And Invites Netanyahu To Visit Hungary by Botragelad(op): 11:01pm On Apr 15 |
HUNGARY’S NEW PRIME minister-elect, Peter Magyar, has had a “warm” conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and invited him to visit in spite of an international warrant for his arrest for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Netanyahu’s office said the two leaders spoke over the phone today in an introductory call, during which Magyar “stated his intention to maintain a close relationship” between the two countries.
Magyar won a stunning electoral victory over Viktor Orbán last weekend in Hungary’s general election, bringing the longtime Netanyahu ally’s 16 years in power to an end.
Magyar has signalled his intention to bring Hungary back in line with European Union policy, particularly in terms of support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s invasion.
But today’s announcement by Netanyahu’s office signals that Magyar plans to continue where Orbán left off in terms of relations with Israel.
Orbán hosted Netanyahu during a state visit in April last year, despite the Israeli premier being wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the genocide in Gaza, Palestine.
As a member of the ICC, Hungary was obliged to arrest Netanyahu, but Orbán announced at the time he would be withdrawing his country’s membership of the court.
The warrant has curtailed Netanyahu’s ability to travel to other countries that are signatories to the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the ICC.
He has made visits to the United States, which is not a signatory, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz invited him in the build-up to the last German elections, despite Germany being an ICC member.
Netanyahu’s office said today that Magyar invited the prime minister to take part in a ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Uprising, an attempted revolt against the Soviet-controlled Hungarian government in 1956.
Netanyahu has in turn invited Magyar to visit Jerusalem, his office said.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed his confidence that the warm relations shared with outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán would continue during the term of Prime Minister-elect Magyar,” the statement said, adding that the foreign ministers of both countries would meet soon.
Magyar, whose opposition won a resounding victory that made headlines around the world this week, said today that Hungary’s parliament would reconvene and formally elect him as premier early next month. Source: https://www.thejournal.ie/magyar-invites-netanyahu-hungary-7014040-Apr2026/

Foreign Affairs › Iran Proposes Suspending Nuclear Activities For Up To Five Years by Botragelad(op): 6:46am On Apr 14 |
According to a report from the New York Times (NYT), Iranian officials had proposed suspending its uranium enrichment for up to five years in its weekend talks with the United States (US) in Pakistan.
The report also states that the US Vice President (VP) JD Vance-led team rejected the five-year offer and insisted for 20-year suspension.
However, US VP Vance didn't discuss the same in his interview with Fox News, earlier in the day. Vance clarified in the interview that Iran giving up its nuclear ambitions and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz are non-negotiable terms. Foreign Affairs › Remember Pearl Harbor? by Botragelad(op): 3:51pm On Apr 12 |
If the Islamic regime terrorists are reckless enough to blow up U.S. naval vessels in the Strait of Hormuz while carrying out Trump’s orders, they should remember exactly what happened to Japan after Pearl Harbor.
Japan launched a surprise attack on December 7, 1941, thinking it would cripple America and force a quick peace. Instead, it woke the sleeping giant. The U.S. went all in total war, industrial mobilization on a scale never seen, island-hopping campaigns that crushed the Japanese navy, firebombing of Tokyo and dozens of other cities, and finally two atomic bombs that wiped out Hiroshima and Nagasaki in seconds. Japan surrendered unconditionally in 1945, its empire gone, its homeland occupied by American forces for years.
That’s the history. Direct attack on U.S. warships doesn’t end with a win for the attacker. It ends with the attacker destroyed. Remember. Shalom! Nlfpmod nlfpmod Fergie001 |

The U.S. has reportedly attacked military targets on Kharg Island as President Donald Trump's deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz approached.
Trump has said all of Iran could be "taken out in one night" if the deadline of 8 p.m. ET Tuesday isn't met.
Media reports also said electricity supply was disrupted in parts of Iran's Kharg Island after projectiles struck transmission lines.
Washington has hit dozens of military targets on the island, Fox News reported, citing U.S. officials.
In March, Trump said he could “take the oil in Iran” and potentially seize the country’s Kharg Island export hub.
Regional countries’ efforts, led by Pakistan, for a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran reportedly have reached a dead end. Last week, mediators told the Wall Street Journal that Iran has informed them that the U.S. demands are unacceptable and that it is not willing to meet the U.S. officials in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, in the coming days.
A regional official from Iran involved in the talks said efforts had not collapsed. “We are still talking to both sides,” he said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss closed-door diplomacy.
On an Israeli TV station, Channel 13, the evening newscast showed a large digital clock counting down the hours and minutes to Tuesday’s deadline.
