Wow.The number of stolen food images from the web is shocking. I've spotted some of these pics, and it's clear as day they're not theirs. What's the point of doing that? 10 Likes 1 Share |

Science/Technology / Re: 1,800-Year-Old Roman Camp Unearthed At 'Armageddon' In Israel (Photos) by Botragelad: 6:32am On Feb 19 |
Kobojunkie:Yeah, it is true that the Assyrians wiped out the ancient kingdom of Israel in 720 BCE, and many of its people were scattered to other places, it makes no sense to say that "Israel stopped being a nation." The destruction of the kingdom of Israel by the Assyrians did not in any way end their national identity. In fact, the Jewish people carried on as a distinct group with a shared history, etc. Then around 539 BCE, the Persian Empire took over the Babylonian Empire and the Persian Empire let the Jews go back to Judea and rebuild Jerusalem. This period is known as the Second Temple period, and it lasted until the Romans knocked down the Second Temple in 70 CE. During this time, the Jews kept their distinct identity and culture, and were not just swallowed up by the bigger empires that ruled over them. Even after the destruction of the Second Temple, the Jewish people carried on as a distinct group with a shared history and identity, eventually leading to the creation of the modern state of Israel in 1948. The statement that "Israel stopped being a nation" is a huge oversimplification on your end. All I'm saying is the destruction of the ancient kingdom of Israel did not mean the end of the Jewish people as a nation or culture. Got it? 4 Likes |
Politics / Re: Kebbi Partners Qatar Foundation To Construct 100 Mosques, Boreholes by Botragelad: 6:44pm On Feb 18 |
I can't fathom how anyone reckons this is a sensible thing to do. While Nigeria, especially the north, is in dire straits, their leaders are still hell-bent on building more places of worship rather than finding a way to create more jobs or ease the people's misery. So can anyone tell me what good these 100 mosques is for? Borehole they say. Ha ha. They are more bothered about religion than anything else. No attempt to better themselves. It's a shame, really! How can anyone cling to religion that you start to lose your common sense. And you lot expect Nigeria to get ahead with this sort of carry-on? Huh. |

Politics / Re: Hardship: People Turn To 'Throw-away' Rice For Food In Nigeria - BBC by Botragelad: 8:27am On Feb 15 |
nairalanda1:Well, let's kick off by tackling the main point here. The idea that more population is good for an economy is not always true. Sure, there are some perks to having a large population, like a bigger potential workforce and a bigger consumer base. But, there are also drawbacks, let's say more competition for resources and more strain on infrastructure and public services. You should also think about the quality of life for people in the population, and whether the benefits of a large population are distributed fairly. I reckon there are problems with the current tax system and government spending that need to be sorted out in Nigeria. Even if these problems are sorted out, it's not necessarily true that a large population would automatically lead to a stronger economy. Actually, research has shown that countries with lower population growth rates tend to have higher GDP per capita, and a better standard of living overall. Remember that larger population puts more stress on natural resources and increases the demand for stuff like food etc. For your info, there are many complicated factors to consider when looking at the relationship between population and economic growth, and it's not as simple as more population equals more economic growth. a4cube:t seems you lot have a problem understanding. Now, if you know the country is in a bad way and you only manage to scrape by, why have kids you can't look after in the long run in case of emergency? Unlike the one who has few or no kids compared to the one with loads of kids, who do you think is gonna suffer the most from the rubbish economy?` 4 Likes |

gratiaeo:Mate, how can you be in dire poverty and keep having kids you can't look after. Isn't that being daft. It's more of a vicious circle that keeps the parents and the children in pain and trouble. It's pointless to have more kids than you can care for, as it only makes things worse and harder. It would be more wise and responsible to have fewer kids, or none at all, until you are ready and able to give them a proper and respectable life. 19 Likes 3 Shares |

Tell these people to stop having too many kids. You keep popping out kids you can't look after then you moan about it. Why wouldn't there be a rise in poverty and crime when the kids lose hope and resort to other ways to survive. 32 Likes 4 Shares |
Politics / Re: 14 Yr Old Palestinian Boy Shot Dead Over Attempted Stabbing In Israel (photos). by Botragelad: 3:45am On Feb 14 |
Seun:He whipped out a knife and tried to stab an officer. You're curious why the Israeli officer didn't use pepper spray or a rubber bullet instead of a deadly bullet. That's what they do in civilised countries like the UK, you say. Well, there are things you should know about the situation in ISRAEL. First, Israel is facing a constant threat of terrorism and violence from these nutters, especially from Hamas, the Islamist group that controls the Gaza Strip and has been firing rockets and flaming balloons at Israeli towns and cities. There have also been several stabbing and ramming attacks by lone-wolf attackers, targeting Israeli civilians and security forces. The force are trained to deal with high-risk situations and hostile environments. They are authorised to use lethal force in self-defence or to prevent a serious threat to life, according to the rules of engagement. Also, pepper spray and rubber bullets are not always effective or suitable in such situations. Both pepper spray and rubber bullets can also fail to stop a determined attacker, especially if they are on drugs or adrenaline. The Israeli officer who shot the Palestinian boy did not use pepper spray or a rubber bullet because he probably thought that they would not be enough to stop the imminent threat of a stabbing attack. It's called following the rules of engagement and the training he received, which are based on the reality and the challenges in Israel. He might have also feared for his life or the lives of his mates, as he faced a knife-wielding assailant who had already tried to stab him. Got it? |

lurdraay:I think the email you got is a confirmation that your application for a residence permit has been received and registered by the UDI. Your reference number (DUF-number) that you need to use if you want to contact the UDI or the police about your case. Well, this email does not mean or say that your application has been processed or approved yet. It just means that it has been entered into the system and is waiting to be assigned to a case officer. The processing time for your kind of application depend on the type of permit, the documents you submitted, etc. If I'm right, you can and should probably check the estimated waiting time for your kind of application on the UDI website. I think it is updated regularly and shows the average time it takes for the UDI to make a decision in similar cases. If your case takes longer than 30 days, the UDI will send you another email to inform you of the status of your case. You get? |

You have to hand it to Israel when it comes to intelligence. They've been able to infiltrate Hamas and weaken their power. Israel carried out some airstrike on Hamas position in rafah even when Egypt said it would cause some tension. Most people were against operation in rafah because of the civilians there. No surprise, it's just another terrorist nest. And look how they rescued these hostages. This is a lesson to all Israel bashers. Your views and moaning don't matter. Israel will do whatever it takes to defend itself from Invaders. All Hamas members will be wiped out to the last man. Enjoy the show!` 128 Likes 13 Shares
