winsomelady: Hi Boyejo123. I want to say something upfront. I have very high regards for your intelligence and the spirit of sharing your knowledge. That is comendable. Please put it at the back of your mind that we are NOT competing. Here, we should learn from one another.
Having said that, I know they are the same thing, but one is more straightforward and simpler than the on other one. For example this is what you gave: sin30=√1/√4 √1 = 1 and √4 = 2. Essentially you are saying that Sin 30 = 1/2 and that tallies with what I gave. The important thing, however, one is much simpler, isn't it?. If you read my post, I said you were complicating things. I never said you were wrong.
Furthermore I gave Sin 45 = 1/√2 but is it not the same as sin45=√2/√4 which you gave? And you gave sin60=√3/√4 but it is the same as √3/2.
Those 'special angles' are those that can be given as direct fractions. Other angles cannot be be given as fractions except only as decimals ok ma drop your number |

winsomelady: With all humility, I think Boyejo123 is unnenessarily complicating simple matter. The original question is how to solve without using tables. For angles 30, 45, and 60, it is much easier to use the fraction equivalent rather than using decimal. Let's start with angle 30 Sin 30 = 1/2 (half) Cos 30 = √3/2 Tan 30 = 1/√3
Angle 45 Sin 45 = 1/√2 Cos 45 = 1/√2 Tan 45 = 1
Angle 60 Sin 60 = √3/2 Cos 60 = 1/2 Tan 60 = √3
To illustrate, consider the following Find the height of a tree which throws a shadow 42 m long on the level ground when the altitude of the sun is 30o BRB its same thing ask the guy,we had a chat on whatsapp, and we did the same thing, though he asked for how to find those of 29,54,87 etc and i told him I can only solve the important angles like,0,30,45,60,90. I never used decimal moreover, you didn't show how you got yours, so I could learn too, am here to learn

LukeSkywalker78: Please help a UTME and PUTME aspirant
First Choice Course= Medicine and Surgery
Second Choice Course= Pharmaceuticals
First University Choice= University Of Ibadan
Second University Choice= University Of Lagos
Subject Combination= English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Please what will be my jamb cut off mark to both universities involving both courses ?? nothing like first or second choice, you can. only have one federal university and one state as more preferred, one poly or college and one institute. so medicine and surgery in UI will require at least 270 in jamb,so as to boost your score when calculating total aggregates, because 270 is 33% and the cut off for this year is 71% and you'll need at least 76 mark in post UTME, if you have less than 270 in jamb you'll need to score above 76 in the post ume remember the higher your jamb score the higher your chance, vice versa. choose the best you think you can perform best. |

winsomelady: The correct answer is d (Damage). Why? Damage can be used in different ways; as a verb (he damaged my car). It can also be used as a noun. The noun can be singular or plural. It is used in plural form as amount of money that court orders one to may for damage or destruction. We use the singular (damage) for the physical destruction done to something. For example, if your car is bashed in many places, you talk about the damage (not damages) done to it. So in the question above, the driver did a lot of destruction, but it is uncountable noun. As I said earlier, the amount of money a court will order somebody to pay for the damagetfhjgf done is damages your view is right, but i oppose it, money has different forms, like premium, bride price, toll fee, import duties, bill, fine, etched damages is a fee being paid for any destruction. its quite different from damage. so the driver paid damages as compensation |

DrBESTJC: PHYSICS. This is live Jamb question...No joking.....abeg somebody who knows his onions in physics should help out.....
1) When a resistance R is across a cell, the voltage across the terminals of the cell is reduced to two-thirds of its nominal value. The internal resistance of the cell is (A) One-third R (B) Half R*ANS*** (C) Two-third R (D) R
Please I need full explanations.... v=IR E=I(R+r)cause of internal resistance (r) so v has been reduced to two-third its value. I.e IR=⅔I(R+r) IR is the original value,and the other is reduced. IR=⅔*IR*Ir IR=2IR+2Ir/3 cross multiply 3IR=2IR+2Ir 3IR-2IR=2Ir IR=2Ir make r subject of formula r=IR/2I I divides I,remaining r=R/2. |
