Annalise: Bruh.. Banks are not ponzi schemes. They are incorporated companies who have board of directors and shareholders that vote. These are the ways a bank makes money apart from interest: Equity ( shareholders and increase in share prices which increases goodwill and capitalisation), assets like receivables and cash. Sale and leaseback of fixed assets, finance and mortgage transactions, treasury bills and discounted securities, government grants, foreign exchange gains, etc. These are ways that banks are different from ponzi schemes. A ponzi scheme can't create a balance sheet because there are no assets. No liabilities. No equity. The asset is the same as the liability and also the same as the capital. If a bank goes under due to liquidity problems, you look at its assets and start selling them off to pay back investors. You start with the creditors and the shareholders are usually the last because they bare the most risk. If a ponzi scheme goes under, that's the end. No assets to sell, no identifiable creditors. I have never heard of a bank going under and not being able to settle at least, it's creditors. If this happens, then there is extensive fraud in the financial statements and someone usually ends up in prison. Well said. |

Mujtahida: But I didn't insult you or anybody naw my brother. Please do your research. I was responding to the comment of someone who is in the know. Have you heard of federal reserve bank, do you know how central banks came to be, have you heard about the running battles several American presidents have waged against the banksters-Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Lincoln, Mckinley etc? Do you know the history of money or what money is? Do you know who caused several wars and economic depressions in the world? Have you heard about social credit? Why are you so quick to spew insult. Do you have self respect? Be careful. Sincere apologies for the insult. But I feel it's not right to mention banks in the same sentence as Ponzi schemes. In as much as we know that banks have been reaping people off since inception, they have never promised anyone outrageous returns on their investments which is the major characteristic of Ponzi schemes. Yes, banks borrowing from Peter to lend to Paul is somehow similar to the mode of Ponzi schemes but they do not promise Peter any outrageous returns (savings accounts attract meagre 3% and current accounts 0%) Banks incomes even go beyond borrowing alone, though it's a considerable chunk of their revenue but it's not the only source. |

chemashie: I don't think so, some of us can still sell even at 500/$ comfortably. You only need to get your coins from the source not from resellers. I will soon sell my profits at 500/$ after trading for a while today. *sobs* don't sell at 500 please. |

Mujtahida: My brother it's pathetic how ignorant people are as regards the fact that banks create money out of thin air through fiat money and fractional reserve banking, lend that same money and charge interest on it and on and on like that relying basically on human ignorance and faith. People do not realise that the banks are ponzi schemes of giant proportions. That banisters have repeatedly caused economic meltdowns, financial hardships to people than any fraudster or group of thieves. MMM might crash but I applaud the principle. Banks are Ponzi schemes? You are an ignorant buffoon sir. Go and read up on the characteristics of Ponzi schemes and compare with the functions of a bank. |
