Here's my humble take on all these Ibori/Ribadu saga:

Is James Ibori a thief? Legally, we would say "No" because he has not been labelled so by a court. But from what we know as citizens of Nigeria, it is clear that Ibori, like most governors, stole billions from Delta State's coffers.And if the Yar'adua govt is sincere, Ibori should probably be in jail now after conviction by a court. I hope this happens so that people can learn that governance doesn't equal thievery

Is Ribadu a corruption-fighting patriot? On the surface, we would say "Yes". After all, corrupt politicians hate him and villify him.
But I need us to think. Are you a good man just because a thief hates u? The fact that a man is persecuted for his actions does not mean that he is a good man. We need to know why he did what he did.
Let's remember recent history. Is it not this same Ribadu that refused to investigate Andy Uba(one of OBJ's henchmen) during Obasanjo's regime for money laundering activities? Is it not the same Ribadu that refused to prosecute Bode George  for the contract scams in the NPA? Ribadu was just a political puppet that did the bidding of his master OBJ.

Did he catch some thieves Yes he did. But did he intentionally let other Obasanjo friendly thieves off the hook? Yes he did.

My submission is that as much as Ibori stole, it does not mean that all he is saying are lies. There may be some truth when he says that Ribadu's issues with him are personal and not because he (Ribadu) hates corruption.

However, Ibori should shut up and stop talking about anybody hounding him because he stands for resource control. That's rubbish.

In the same vein, Ribadu should continue to go after Ibori but tell us the truth that he's doing this because they both have personal issues. As long as Ribadu thinks OBJ was not a thief (He has said so several times) even when Atiku gave us clear proof of OBJ's pilfering and misappropriation of PTDF funds, He (Ribadu) is also a joker.

Ribadu and Ibori should settle their personal differences and stop deceiving us.

May God punish Mike Aondokaa (our compromised AG). And I mean that. If he was doing his job, Ribadu's noise won't mean a thing. It's his corruption-aiding ineptitude that's making an insincere person like Ribadu relevant.
