I am really thinking that there could be hope for this country after all. What we really need is someone who will act as a symbol of our hopes.

The truth is that for Nigeria to move forward, we need people and leaders who will rise above ethnic and religious biases and make Nigeria and its prosperity their tribe and religion.

Like an Obama, we need someone who will NOT deny his blackness BUT who will not view life from his blackness or run for office on the basis of being black.

If young people in Nigeria will begin to come together to dicsuss ideas and TAKE ACTIONS that will help build Nigeria, we will be great again.

It will not happen in one day but if we work hard, we may one day find a leader in Aso Rock and in the various state government houses who can use emails, research on the internet and deliver the dividends of good leadership.

This generation needs to rid itself of ethnic and religious stereotypes. Why should you believe a Hausa man ,you've never even heard before, is dull and dumb just because he's hausa or believe that any Emeka will steal your money just because he's Igbo?

Yes, every ethnic group may have its own common positives, idiosyncracies and maladies BUT there will always be those who have not been tainted.

I like this Lamido guy NOT because he's perfect or anything BUT because he can identify with where he comes from and YET can also see things differently from where HE comes from.

If we stop the ethnic and religious biases in Nigeria, we will be able to praise a good man no matter where he comes from and shout "crucify him" at a bad guy even if he's from your hamlet in the village.

That said, I personally think Yar'adua was an unwilling leader selected by an insecure predecessor. Check out Obasanjo's history. He did not hand over power to a strong leader in 1979 but to the weakly Shagari. Maybe it's his own way of saying "I must beta pass the person wey dey come after me". So Yar'adua CANNOT perform because he never really wanted to be president in the first place. Everytime you curse Yar'adua, please reserve 2 curses for OBJ for punishing Nigerians with Yar'adua because we did not give him 3rd term.

Wow. I just went through every line of the speech/lecture by Sanusi and I must say that this guy has depth. As a student of politics I find his views very analytical, insightful and even forward-looking.

If you read this article without any spectacles of ethnic coloration, you will agree that alot of what he said makes historical, political and academic sense. Granted that the article may have some "color" based on Sanusi's background, but you will agree that total and absolute objectivity is NOT possible in the realm of the social sciences

I have done business with Viperman before and I can attest to the fact that the guy is 100% legit and has integrity. He'd rather lose money than soil his name or spoil his reputation.

As much as I appreciate the order LASTMA has brought to Lagos, I still think the bulk of their officials are nothing but glorified touts.
