FashionAso-ebi Styles From Over The Weekend by Bperfectionist(op): 3:51pm On May 15, 2016
Happy Pentecost Sunday to the Catholics and happy Sunday to the none Catholics. The Pentecost Sunday is a feast in the Catholic Church celebrating the decent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles.

Apart from Coco's(Davido's sister) wedding that took place on Thursday,  there weren't lots of Owambes that took place this weekend.

But we still caught a few ladies slaying their Aso-ebi here and there.

Christianity EtcThe Little Things Of Easter by Bperfectionist(op): 4:27pm On Mar 27, 2016
The Little Things of Easter

Have you ever sat down to wonder about the little things of Easter? Or the liberation story everyone talks about with no significance added into their life. Easter is one of the major significance of our very existence, after the mistake of our first parents Adam and Eve.

In that sense,

‘‘what is Easter?’‘

Easter is more spiritual, than it is physical. It represents so much than we can imagine.

One betrayal that ended a man
and gave liberation to many.

As a Nigerian child born in the nineties, there is this feeling that comes with celebrations- the rice and stew with chicken or goat meat that was going to grace my plate that afternoon or the happiness you have realizing that you were not going to school for a couple of days and mum probably won’t bother you to wash your socks or the feeling that comes when you see your extended family and everyone in their ‘Easter clothes’ like we called it. We loved the celebration not Easter!

While growing up, I managed to understand Easter to an extent, although I still considered the physical celebration more significant than the in-depth spirituality that comes with Easter. I still waited patiently every Easter to get my Easter dress sewn and the upgrading of the Easter meal to fried rice and chicken. I counted down days to hours, hours to minutes and finally seconds when I could finally have my fried rice and chicken. As Catholics, we had the obligation of attending the Easter Vigil that had long readings and was sequence filled. I didn’t like the spirituality in it, but I loved the physical celebration!

As a young adult, I’ve tried to understand Easter ….. And although I might not be able to you all there is to know about Easter here’s what I know,

Easter represents victory, that we have been liberated from sickness and diseases, sin, poverty, weakness, and everything that weighs us down.

Easter means that through the blood of Jesus Christ our Savior, we were liberated and we have powers over the malicious plans of the evil ones.

Easter means that your sins have been forgiven.

Easter means that God has not forgotten us and he never will!

Have a wonderful Easter and keep my Easter chicken!

FashionFor The Fashion Lovers......slay In Street Style This Friday by Bperfectionist(op): 10:43pm On Mar 10, 2016
I know I’ve said it lots of times, but Friday is just my favorite day.
why?
Because it’s one day, I can go Street Style and not feel guilty.
Street Style is ageless, and if outfits are paired correctly, can give an illusion of a youthful appearance and also the best thing about street style is that if properly combined it can be worn to almost anywhere.
Here are some of my favorite street style trends…..

FashionHow To Style Palazzo Pants by Bperfectionist(op): 1:06am On Feb 10, 2016
Folake Huntoon Inspired: How To Style the Palazzo Pants
If you were born in the 60’s or 70’s you’ll probably have known this wide legged pants called palazzo’s. After seeing a lot of people rock this piece, I’ve become quite a fan….
For all the looks I’ve come across, Folake Huntoon popularly known as ‘style pantry’ has slayed the look in every way possible.
Palazzo pants are stylish, comfortable and most importantly versatile. The loose cut which allows the leg to swirl around you as you walk and gives a graceful flare to your figure.
Everyone can pull off this piece-whether tall or short, fat or slim, and curvy or not…with the right pieces. A shorter or curvier figure should opt for palazzo pants that aren’t too loose, or you can easily look overwhelmed especially if you’re pairing bright pieces to the outfit. Taller women can wear loose palazzo pants with confidence.

FashionNot Sure Of What To Wear For Valentine's Day Let's Help You Out by Bperfectionist(op): 2:21am On Feb 09, 2016
It’s almost Valentine, and as usual malls and shops are full of ladies trying to get the perfect outfit for that special day.
As usual, most of us would go for the normal Valentines day hue(which is red).
Monotony could make a fabulous outfit look just normal, and no one wants their partner staring at another lady, at a diner.
So, my point is kicking it up an inch, by trying other hues for Valentine, and not just the same old red.
Totally sexy and chic hues to try out for Valentines Day

RomanceSecrets Women Keep From Their Man by Bperfectionist(op): 7:35am On Jan 28, 2016
Although the men are more known to keep secrets and tell their women what they want to hear, we do that too. We don’t say what we mean; we hear what men don’t say, and above all have the inexplicable ability to get what we want. Some of these secrets that women hide, might hurt their partner, that’s why they prefer to hide it.

1. We aren’t Football fans

Sincerely, we don’t see the point of grown men running around the field for a ball…... the annoying part is when some guys go to some weird extent to watch football and some eventually end up getting caught up in fights and breaking their heads over the superiority of teams, who wins or who loses; I mean at the end of the day whether the team wins or loses they’ll still get paid…….. I don’t remember Bale sharing his pay with your broken head.
But if we act interested we get extra cash to hangout or go shopping. It’s a win win.

2. You don’t help out at all

Some guys can be so lazy to the point they need you to clean their asses. There are 24 hours in a day and we aren’t your personal maids. We don’t get paid to cook and clean up after you. So do your part and help without us having to ask you. We really would love and appreciate you more. *wink**wink*

3. While most men will lie that they don’t fancy a curvier physique, bigger behind and bigger oranges. Lol, but here’s a secret from us we also love a man with a bigger, fuller, stronger and masculine physique that makes us feel like we’re protected when we’re in their arms.

4. We think about our ex-boyfriends and sometimes compare you to them.
Silence.

5. We’ve discovered you love porn and frequently visit porn sites:
although most men might say they don’t watch porn, it’s okay we understand, if we were in your shoes we’ll also deny it, because we think that things that turns you on is hilarious.

6. You’ve made her cry more times than you’ll ever know:
if a girl truly loves you, she’ll be sensitive to everything you say, do , even how you kiss her and while she tries to treat you like a king….. PLEASE TREAT HER LIKE A QUEEN OR SOMEBODY ELSE WILL.

7. We want you to talk a little dirty
You heard us! Learn!

8. She’s constantly testing you: call us the best judges, because we analyze, judge every action, word, gesture, email, and facial expression.
When we ask you if you’ll love to have a party (we know it’s one of your dreams), sincerely we don’t mean it… the best answer you would give in this situation is “why would I want to sleep with another woman when I have you?”
That just settles the case.

9. She loves it when you get a little jealous

10. She starts fight with you because she feels ignored.
Just give her what she wants.
Some men are imagining different things…. And it’s absolutely not what you’re thinking; let me help you with that…..
“Young man” in Pete Edochie’s voice “Give her attention, and you’ll end the battle before the war starts.”
We understand that we’re a complicated

…..That’s why you have two hands.

CelebritiesThings You Should Learn From Rihanna by Bperfectionist(op): 2:57am On Jan 27, 2016
Rihanna is known for many things, a songstress, an influential woman, and the list goes on.

We’ll be focusing on the
‘Things You Should Totally Learn From Rihanna ‘

1) Work Hard

‘What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.’
-Friedrich Nietzsche

There’s one thing that is so common to almost all the mega stars-

They all worked hard.

I can remember watching an interview, where she admitted she had locked herself in the studio for three days, and she had no phone signal or connection to the outside world.

Three days!!! That’s 72hours of not Facebooking, Pinging, Tweeting, or even peeping through your instagram account even for 60 seconds. If you were in that position, that’ll be hell for you right?
But Riri survived it.

You could decide to idolize other people’s success on social media platforms, or become your own idol.

2) Be a Sexy Rebel
Rihanna has successfully broken almost all the rules of fashion.

Like who wears a Stella McCartney tuxedo to the British Fashion Awards, which showed cleavage and legs……
But you still love her, don’t you?

The best thing about breaking the rules, is that, it makes you stand out, Everyone would want to know who that sexy rebel is.

3) Do what you love
Most times we’re too cut-up, in what people will say, when doing things that makes us happy. Which limits us to being a puppet(someone becomes in control of what and where you can be.)

We all need a little Riri’s attitude of doing what makes us happy, regardless of what they think.
If they’re not happy on your boat, they can swim along.

Feel free to add yours, in the comments box below.

FashionSandal Heels We Absolutely Love by Bperfectionist(op): 11:50pm On Jan 18, 2016
“Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world”
-Marilyn Monroe

I love shoes! From the security it gives when I put an outfit together, to the illusion it creates of a tall and slim figure. It is absolutely amazing the power of shoes!

Taking a look at some of the shoes that graced the red carpet we couldn’t help but love the sandal heels.

Here are some of our favorite sandal heels, that we believe would make a statement on both the shoe rack and when you’re out and about.

FamilyHow To Conquer The Monday Blues by Bperfectionist(op): 1:56am On Jan 18, 2016
Although we all hope that one day we’ll wake up and we won’t have Monday’s again, and it’ll only be an extension of Sunday, that would be wonderful right?
While we can’t do absolutely anything to change the very existence of Monday, we can only adopt strategies to overcome the Monday Blues!
1) Procrastination is a No!! No!!
Try not to procrastinate throughout the week! You put something off until tomorrow and then push it to the day after that and then pile everything onto your weekend to-do list. Thus, you end up spoiling your weekend even before it even starts. It is not at all fair to your tirelessly working body and soul, since it deserves rest and refreshment after a busy work week!
2) Plan you week
” I don’t have enough time.”
Think about that phrase for a second, how often do you say it?
Days? Weeks? Months? Years?
There is no killer of dreams than those five words.
But have you noticed that the most busy and accomplished people never seem to say them.
Why?
Because they have a strategy and most of us do not.
Here’s a simple way to plan your week.
On Sunday night, in the comfort of your bedroom or wherever works best for you as long as its quiet enough.
Play a relaxing music of your choice (mine is usually classical songs from Adrea bocelli or motivational talks from T.D.Jakes) but whatever works for you is beautiful too.
i) Make a list of reasonable tasks that you can achieve during the week.
ii) Connect and visualize the big picture. ( your big lifetime goals and dreams)
iii) Reflect on last week and major lessons learnt.
iv) Schedule everything – from what time you’ll wake to what time you’ll shut your eyes.
Leave few gabs for uncertainties, and time to finish off last-minute stuffs that matter.
v) Know you won’t get it all done. It’s okay to leave a little for next week, it gives you something to look forward to, anyway.
3) Talk to God
This is the most important aspect to help you conquer the Monday Blues.
Bible verses like Jeremiah 29:11
Which says
“For I know the plans I have for you, ” declares the Lord
“ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
It not only motivates you, but makes you feel like you have a three-man walking behind you.

Have a lovely week!

XOXO

Nina
