Unfortunately as of today Fubara has taking the poison chalice. He presented to 4 lawmakers who had a fake mace with them. Only inec can declare seats vacant and with Professor Mahmood you know that is almost impossible. The budget Fubara signed did not follow due process.
Fubara still has a case at the Supreme court. A court that declared Lawan senate candidate even though Lawan did not contest.
Loosing 15 commissioners is loosing power. The optics is bad. He's been weakened. Those commissioners are power bases in their own right.
If the courts recognise those 27 lawmakers which I think they will Fubara will be impeached The commissioners who will be replaced within the twinkle of an eye. Most commissioners have absolutely nothing to offer politically. Their commissionership or otherwise is at whim of the Governor. |
