What then happens if a candidate wins all the 36 States but can't get 25% from FCT? A rerun? How? So the whole country will start election all over again in all the 36 States because of the failure of getting 25% from FCT? The law must be insane to have such interpretation. If rerun is declared from court, that means a popular candidate from FCT can contest tomorrow for the position of president just to cause stalemate in the election. As long as he can win 80% votes from Abuja, it's certain the first election will be cancelled and rerun declared every time such case repeats itself in the future. There is no logic in that.

Comparing this to WAEC exam instruction also cannot work. It is stated clearly by the examination and admission bodies that English and Mathematics are more important subjects to all students unlike this election case. There is no where in Nigeria Constitution that states FCT is more important than other states of the federation. No amendment attaches priority or preference to FCT.

I am very sure this point cannot fly in court. It is just unnecessary political "misyarn" from the concerned parties.

Well… I did come out to vote and I can tell you my PU scanty die. I’m armed obviously with a concealed carry but it’s been peaceful so far. I won’t blame anyone that decided to stay home. Naija is not worth it.
