This time his interview with MTVBase Africa about himself, has got people talking, as the singer claimed that ever since he did remarkable things in the UK, other African artistes have followed his footstep and done the same.

A court clerk in Uganda been suspended for 2 weeks after reportedly dressing in a seductive way to her workplace.

The lady, identified simply as Rosemary, drew the ire of judicial authorities after appearing before them in a seductive dress.

According to reports, she was subsequently suspended for two weeks without salary for her indisciplined way of dressing.

This was made known in a letter signed by the Ugandan Permanent Secretary to the Judiciary, Ms Josephine Mawunge, who explained that her intermission from work was due to her wearing of “a very short and tight dress”.



Part of the statement read;

“This is to inform you that on the 21st September, 2017, while you were invited to the Permanent Secretary of the judiciary for an explanation regarding the nonpayment of your salary and allowances, for the month of July 2017, you turned up dressed in a manner that does not portray the good image of the judiciary and the public at large.

“In particular, you were dressed in a very short and tight dress which by description does not fall within the generally acceptable standards of the establishment notice.”

Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has responded to claims by a Togolese activist, Farida Nabourema, that she allegedly perpetuating the political oppression of the people of Togo.

In case you missed, Farida Nabourema had during an interview with Sahara Reporters, talked about how African celebrities unlike their counterparts from another part of the world, use their position to endorse political oppression from dictators.

She then went on to blast Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade and famous footballer Emmanuel Adebayor, for endorsing Togo president, Faure Gnassingbe, who has been in power since 2005, after the death of his father, Gnassingbe Eyadema, who ruled for 38 years.
Nabourema went on to say she used to love Yemi Alade until she listened to her singing in support of “one of the most brutal dictators in Togo because they paid her a couple of hundreds of thousands of dollars,”..

Now, Yemi Alade has through her manager Taiye Aliyu, responded to the allegations..

Taiye told Pulse;

"It was like a normal show you go for in the country. It was a festival they normally do. It wasn't a political thing at all. Yemi Alade just went there to perform."

The management of llorin Muslim Cemetery, on Friday, rejected the corpse of a 47-year-old civil servant, Mr. Salami Adekunle, who was killed by lightening in Oro, lrepodun Local Government Area of Kwara. Dr. Abubakar Aliagan, the Coordinator in charge of the cemetery, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in llorin.

According to him, the cemetery management unanimously rejected the burial of the deceased following an instruction that the corpse should not undergo the normal Islamic prayers and bath. Aliagan said while the deceased was described as a practising Muslim during his life time, Muslims in his vicinity refused to accept that his death was an act of God.

He said the performance of traditional rituals on Adekunle’s corpse after his death was unacceptable to the management of the cemetery, adding that the burial of the deceased in the Muslim Cemetery must also be in line with Islamic tenets.

“If the late Salami will sleep in our Muslim cemetery, we have to do it in line with lslamic rites,’’ Aliagan said. Adekunle was on Thursday struck to death by lightening during a downpour. The deceased who hails from lnisa in Osun was, until his death, a staff of the Registry Department at the Kwara College of Education, Oro. The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Adesola Adewoye, said the family of the deceased would meet and decide on the next line of action to take on the burial arrangement.

A 24 year old man, has been handed a four-year prison sentence after being convicted of rape and indecent assault.

The 24-year-old man from Melbourne had raped his girlfriend’s twin sister and claimed it happened after he mistook her for her sibling.

According to Herald Sun, he told the police his victim was a liar and claimed she had sexually assaulted him, but the court heard he had previously fantasised about having sex with her.

Victorian County Court judge Felicity Hampel accused the man of taking the “cowardly way out” by accusing his partner’s sister of lying at trial.

She said;

“Instead of owning up and taking responsibility and trying to make amends, you denied it,”

“You reduced her reputation, attacked her honesty, blamed her and ruined her relationship with her twin.”

The victim had been staying with her sister and was sleeping in the spare bedroom when the man entered her room to speak to her.

He then sexually assaulted the victim.

The man then told the police the the rape occurred because his partner and the victim looked identical.

Ms Hampel told him this was a “bizarre” claim considering he had been “talking to [the victim] about her, and her issues, for over an hour.”

The victim has reportedly become estranged from her sister following the attack and has attempted suicide several times.

“All I ever wanted was for him to say 'sorry' and admit what he had done to me,” she said.

A Nigerian man has taken to Facebook to reveal how yesterday,Sunday, September 17, he saved a young man accused of stealing from being subjected to jungle justice, by an angry mob ready to burn him to death.

According to the Facebook user, identified as Felix 'umache' Ekpoudom, the thief was caught stealing car batteries but would have been killed if not for his timely intervention.

The Facebook user, who was also identified as a Senior Officer at Nigeria Police Force, wrote;

“#AbortedJungleJustice… I just save life this #ForgivingSunday Morning… This young boy was caught by area boys stealing car batteries and other items in a mechanic workshop, they tighten the boy like he-goat pour petrol on him, about to set fire on him to burn to ashes…

As God may have it I stepped into the scene, introduced myself and ordered all of them to stand down their actions else everybody will go in for it….

Though wasn’t easy for them to obey me, I immediately call Police for backup, to also take away the boy for proper investigations….

Controversial Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has caused yet another controversy after his speech during a peace meeting..

According to the Kaduna state governor, while taking a swipe at former President, Goodluck Jonathan and his former late boss, Yar ‘Adua, Yar ‘Adua died and ended up in the grave after he fought him..

The Governor who also talked about his fight with Goodluck Jonathan, said he ended up in his village, Otueke.

Nasir El-Rufai who warned his political opponents not to fight him, said;

“I had fought with two presidents,” Mr El-Rufai said at the Kaduna APC stakeholders meeting held at Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, “Umaru Yar’Adua ended in his grave, while President Goodluck Jonathan ended in Otueke.”

“Let us forget our differences and work for the development of the party. If you are not willing to stop the fight, you should know that I am a dogged fighter,” he said.

The governor who later knelt before the Kaduna State APC Stakeholders who are all enmeshed in the party’s crisis, with two party senators, Shehu Sani and Sulaiman Hunkuyi and a number of members of the House of Representatives forming a formidable faction against the governor,apologized to the ward, local government and state excos, members of state and National Assembly and other stakeholders of the party for all his wrongdoings.

“I implore you to tell me the wrong I did to you and I will apologize. But if it goes beyond today, I will never tender apology,” he added.

According to is brother simply identified as ‘Fine boy’, who spoke with PUNCH, the agitator will soon reveal his location.

He told Punch that Kanu would also react to the declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organisation and proscription of the activities of IPOB in the state.

The last time Kanu was seen in public was on Monday when he addressed some groups that came to his residence after Sunday clash between soldiers and some IPOB members.

The members of the Indigenous of People of Biafra (IPOB) reportedly manned guard between Wednesday night and Thursday morning at Nnamdi Kanu’s home, allegedly preventing soldiers from entering his home.

This comes after reports of the Nigerian Army surrounded the residence of Kanu on Tuesday, over the clash between soldiers and the biafra on Sunday.

According to reports, the group claims the military men began firing shots at security officers and unarmed IPOB members around the area, when they could not enter his house.

The secessionist group claimed that the soldiers stormed Kanu’s residence and injured several occupants in an attempt to kill him on Sunday.

To prevent Mr. Kanu from danger, the group decided to stay awake Wednesday night.

The caption of a video posted by a member of Biafra during their night-watch read;

So, there’s a trending story on Facebook right now, between one a guy identified as “Uty’Kiss Stan’Dard” and a young lady identified as Edidiong Rhyker on Facebook.

The thing is, the Guy, Uty shared a picture of himself and Edidiong on Facebook, and it looks as if they were both digging it behind the sheet… It’s worthy to note that both their underwear are on the ground.
