What kind of one sided report is this? You did not report that there was a fracas(two fighting) between both parties and their supporters, neither did you attempt at all to state what led to the fight between both parties. Moreover, you said the Hon. Razak is feared dead, yet you are posting pictures of him on the hospital bed, alive and alert and you did not tell Nigerians that the other party(Hon. Philip) sustained serious injuries too. Can a dead man be alive, since this pictures of Hon. Do not suggest he is dead. Maybe he is alive while he is dead. On s serious note, the instant issue has nothing to do with the APC or Oshiomole versus PDP crises in Edo State. It is simply a fall out of the long rivarly(both political, social and economic) between Etsako Constituency 1(comprising of Auchi) where Hon. Razak comes from and Etsako Constituency 2(comprised mainly of Uzairue, consisting of Jattu, etc) where Hon. Philip Shuaibu and Gov. Adams Oshiomole hail from. These two brothers and neighbours- the peoples of Auchi and Uzairue, particularly Jattu or Ikpe, are traditionally sworn enemies.
Sir, what part of Edo are u from? U seem to know about dis age long rivalry very well
Politics‘we Won’t Follow Mimiko’ by brixton(op): 5:38am On Oct 05, 2014
The Chairman of the Labour Party in Osun State, Mr. Tunde Olatunji, has said members of the party in the state will not defect with the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Olatunji said this in an interview with our correspondent in Osogbo on Friday.

He said members of the LP in Osun would not join the PDP because the governor was not the reason they joined the party.

He said, “We are not joining the PDP. No way! We came to the LP on our own. We didn’t join the LP because of Mimiko. We came to join the party and not to join Mimiko.

“His exit from the party does not mean everybody will follow him to his new party. We have nothing to do with the PDP or the APC. We remain in the LP. And nothing is shaking us.”

Although the governorship candidate of the LP in Osun State, Mr. Fatai Akinabde, could not be reached for comments, he had earlier stated in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH that Mimiko’s exit from the LP would not be the end of the party.

Akinbade had said Mimiko did not offer him any financial support during the August 9 governorship election in the state, which was won by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

He said parties were different from individuals, adding that the LP would continue to exist even if Mimiko left the party.

He said, “The Labour Party has been existing before Mimiko joined it and I believe the party will continue to exist if he leaves. His exit does not mean the end of the LP.

“Some of us here will not leave the party if Mimiko defects, and I know the same is true for so many others in other states.”

PoliticsRe: Presidential Ticket: APC Reduces Delegates Number To 15,000 by brixton(op):
The Director-General of the General Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Umaru Dembo, defended the call for a consensus candidate.

He told SUNDAY PUNCH, “If the PDP can go for a consensus candidate and we are the biggest party on the other side, it will be normal, it will be alright if we also have a consensus (candidate) so that there wouldn’t be any rancour or worries.
I disagree with him on this. Opposition parties should conduct primaries to elect a standard flagbearer. Why are they comparing themselves to the PDP? Thought anything PDP is no good? The oppositions in USA carry out primaries to elect their presidential flag bearers, the APC should emulate them instead.

For Buhari supporters that says consensus is only way to stop Atiku; If Buhari's money can not compete with Atiku, Let him use his massive support base to thwart Atiku's billions. After all some people boasted on nairaland of how Buhari will not spend a dime from his pocket to pay the #27m fee for APC presidential normination form. Let them show him how much faith they have in his presidency and give Atiku a run for his money. After all Atiku is one man army, let the people's general show whatcha made of!!
PoliticsPresidential Ticket: APC Reduces Delegates Number To 15,000 by brixton(op): 5:18am On Oct 05, 2014
The National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress is at the verge of reducing the number of delegates for its forthcoming presidential primaries to below 15,000.

SUNDAY PUNCH gathered in Abuja on Friday that the proposal was the outcome of several meetings held by the Chief John Oyegun-led national executive of the party.

The NEC was mandated to fine-tune modalities for the indirect primaries which were agreed upon.

An initial proposal, which was to include all party officials from the ward up to the federal level, was jettisoned when it was discovered that about 30,000 delegates will be involved.

A highly placed party source, who pleaded for anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media, said “It is only logical that we trim down the number from 300,000 to a manageable size of say 10,000 or 15,000 maximum.”

Supporters of former Head of State, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari had proposed that, in the event that the party was not disposed to a consensus candidate, it should go for direct primary.

The direct primary will entail all duly registered members of the party at all levels. They will be involved in choosing the flag bearer.

“It is not that anybody is afraid of a contest. If the other candidates are willing to go for a consensus, so are we. If not, everybody will be ready for a contest.”

According to him, this will not be the first time Buhari will be contesting neither will it be the first time a consensus candidate will be agreed upon and ratified at a convention, if it so happens. He expressed the hope that whatever eventually happens will be the best for the campaign.

He also said barring any last minute change, Buhari would make a formal bid for the ticket on October 10.

Dembo said, “It was to have taken place on the (|October) 8 but because of so many things affecting logistics it cannot be more than two days after the 8th.”

The Managing Director of the Atiku Media Office, Mallam Garba Shehu, also defended the Atiku group’s support for the indirect primaries already agreed upon.

When contacted, the national publicity secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, confirmed the development.

He, however, said he was not at liberty to disclose the number of delegates.

He said “It is not a matter of pruning down the number of delegates. I think it is not the issue of 10,000 or 15,000; it is a matter of looking at the safety of delegates and conformity with the law. We want a situation where delegates will fit into the voting area.”

In as much as I want NFF to change Keshi, I think it is outright disrespect to compare him with Siasia. Going back to Siasia wud be a down trend... Why not try Oliseh instead?
I'd rather stick to a Keshi than allow overrated Siasia ruin the Eagles again. The excuse this time wud be that Keshi already dropped 5 points from a possible 6 and Siasia cud not perform miracles to take us to 2015 Afcon

Help you say? If Jonathan was desperate for Obj's help, dont you think he would go to Abeokuta himself? Its more like showing respect to baba despite their differences. Obj can not stop Jona's re election except Nigeria is no longer in Africa

Mark is 200% loyal to Jonathan, he was accompanied by Anenih's wife (That explains the purpose of the meeting).. I think they went to plead with him to show face in Jonathan's official re election declaration. Tinubu went to seek how best to stop Atiku from buying all 20,000 delegates coming for APC presidential primaries.

My assumptions!

I was discussing wit my fiancee this morning about just getting a degree and giving birth in yanky rather than trying to fix arrangee marriage as well as marrying me at d same time. Dis woman kept arguing with me about what kind of job she would be doing in Nig?, how u can make 150k in a month by washing plates in Yanky while u need all the degrees in the world to earn same figures in Nig.. (funny)! I simply told her i am not going to do arrangee for myself, if she's smart then she knows i am not doing it for her either. I can always renew my yanky visa if need be! I think it is lack of proper orientation or our lack of appreciation for our dear land, i have seen too many suffer heads here and i keep thanking God i was raised in Nigeria. Fact is life is economical in Nigeria than most of these foreign land.

Jokes EtcCustoms And Checking Of Luggage At The Airport...lol by brixton(op): 6:30pm On Sep 11, 2014
Got this from a blog and thought to share.. LMAO

This is a true story as recounted to me by my flight attendant friend who works on the international route.

We all know how Custom officials like to ransack peoples luggage at the arrival wing of the international airport on arrival in Lagos.
I have been a victim severally, sometimes I get my way and they let me pass but sometimes they get theirs and I open my luggage for them to 'see' what I am bringing in.

Well according to my friend, they recently got more than they bargained for when they stopped a lady carrying plenty luggage.

The lady was pulled aside and they demanded to check her bags. She was taken to the side and they began questioning her asking what she had in her bags.
She told them she had mostly personal stuff

The customs told her ''Personal stuff? Please open your bags and lets see..''

She told them ''Most of my luggage is full of Medical books.I am a LIBRARIAN and...''

They took to their heels thinking she said ''I am a LIBERIAN..''

LOL.
