Angola has reportedly declared Islam illegal and ordered for all of the country’s mosques to be closed down. Minister of culture Rosa Cruz e Silva said that mosques in the largely Christian country would be closed until further notice. She described Islam as a ‘sect’ that would be banned as counter to Angolan customs and culture. There are unconfirmed reports that mosques across the African country are being destroyed, according to the International Business Times. President Jose Edurado dos Santos reportedly told the Osun Defence daily: ‘This is the final end of Islamic influence in our country.’ Along with Islam, which is a religion associated with less than 1 per cent of the population of 19 million, 194 other ‘sects’ have been banned in the nation, where more than half the population is Christian. Ms Cruz e Silva said: ‘The legalisation of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights [and] their mosques will be closed until further notice.’ Clashes between Christians and Muslim people are frequently reported in the local media. |
NAIROBI, KENYA: A passenger was on Monday night shot dead in a robbery on a matatu along Mombasa Road, Nairobi. The Nigerian national was riding on a matatu that was headed for Kitengela when some of the passengers turned out to be thugs and carjacked it. Police and witnesses say the deceased had refused to heed the thugsâ orders and tried to argue with them as they demanded cash and other valuables. Nairobi County police chief Benson Kibue said witnesses say there had been an argument between the gang and the deceased before he was shot at close range. âWe have always advised the public to heed orders of armed thugs or anyone armed. That way we will ensure our safety but we are hunting down on the gang,â said Kibue. The gang later commandeered the bus into a dark alley along Mombasa Road where they robbed the passengers with the deceased man inside and later escaped on foot with the loot. Cases of carjacking are on the rise in the city and police are struggling to contain them. Last Friday, two suspected thugs were shot dead and two pistols recovered  in a botched carjacking incident on a matatu in Nairobi's Buruburu area. Four passengers were shot and seriously wounded in the confrontation that ended after a long chase with police. Police say five other carjackers managed to escape after slipping through the windows of the matatu along Jogoo Road and it is believed the same gang has been behind a series of the incidents on the route. Police have been directing matatu operators to institute measures to curb the menace that is now on the rise. Up to four cases are reported weekly in the city. http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000096458&story_title=carjackers-shoot-dead-passenger-in-nairobi |
kulyie: *coughing * where did you get your information from.its her words against his and the recorded evidence against his claims baby!By ABIGAEL SUM and NGARI GICHUKI Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has apologised for slapping Nairobi Women representative Rachel Shebesh, but not without saying why. In a statement to newsrooms, Kidero said he acted out of anger after Shebesh assaulted him around his lower abdomen. “I found the act embarrassing, disgusting and highly disrespectful. Nonetheless, I wish to regard what happened to me that day as a despicable act of aggression on my personal integrity and that of the office of the Governor,” read part of the statement. The matter is under investigation. Kidero, on the other hand, has termed the incident that took place at City Hall on Friday unfortunate and regrettable and assured residents of Nairobi that the matter that is now in the hands of the investigative authorities will be pursued within the due process to its logical conclusion http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/mobile/?articleID=2000093029&story_title=kidero-what-was-she-doing-around-my-lower-abdomen |
Actually she is not a union rep but the Nairobi County Women's representative in parliament. Yes she is a parliamentarian, her name is Racheal Shebesh. The governor has since claimed that she kicked him in the balls and that's why he slapped her (of course the camera didnt capture that). They have both recorded statement with the police but the case is not expected to go anywhere. |

Ignorance is in deed bliss. If I listed you how millions things your so called evangelical churches do that are not biblical will it make you feel better? For you people either something is in the bible or it not. For us catholics, you need to go deeper into the history of the church to understand us. Mostly we don't even bother responding to your accusations. 1. When did Jesus die and when was the bible written? 2. How did the church remain united during these 400 years before the bible was written? As I said you evangelicals believe in whats biblical and whats not. For us Catholics, we have the TEACHINGS OF THE CHURCH to compliment the bible. These teachings are mainly historical having been developed to keep the church united and growing until the bible was written so next time you tell a Catholic that saying the rosary is not in the bible, they will just laugh and you will think you have won the debate but inside they will be saying forgive them father for the don't know what they are saying. |
Hi guys, Anyone know where i can get a free software to block nuisance calls for this phone? |
Those of you who are quick with "do not judge" crap, God will be harsh on you. You knew these were false prophets, you knew they wrre fleesing poor people and you went ahead and defended their acts calling them "annointed people of God", you are sickening. Prov. 3:21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Jer. 22:3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness |
Exactly the reason you can't be told the truth. Ever wondered why africans are fanatical about christianity and the white men who brought it to us 60% of them don't believe in God? Don't you look stupid? |
The historical info is for your own good. What if you found out that there actually was no God and religion was invented to control man? |
Early Christians used to worship on saturday. Since people had been worshipping the Sun god on Sunday, they would do to church on Saturday and still worship Sun God on Sunday. A brilliant Roman emperor wanted to discourage the worshipping of the sun god so he move worship day to sunday so slowly the sun god was forgotten. Thas why Seventh Day Adventists differ with Catholic but it was just a strategic move to spread the religion!!!!! |
