Buhari is so poor he couldn't afford his nomination forms, I refuse to believe that. I think he has suceeded in hiding his wealth better than some other rulers.

Controller General Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. David Shikfu Parradang Controller General Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. David Shikfu Parradang

The Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, arrested and repatriated 430 illegal immigrants in Jigawa State between January and November 2014, the service said.

The service also said its personnel seized temporary and permanent Nigerian voter cards from nationals of Niger who entered Nigeria illegally.

The Comptroller of the NIS in the Jigawa State, Isa Jere, made the announcement on Saturday in Dutse, the state capital, while parading seven illegal immigrants from Niger and one from Mali.

Mr. Jere said 90 percent of the arrested immigrants were from Niger Republic while others were from Cameroun, Chad and Mali.

According to him, the service has intensified its mop-up operation to get rid of illegal immigrants in the state before the commencement of the 2015 general elections.

“We are committed to repatriating illegal immigrants in our midst because they don’t have right or have any business to participate in our elections” he said.

The comptroller also said that the state’s command had seized 20 voters’ cards from Nigerien immigrants.

He said that 11 out of the 20 were permanent voters’ cards while the remaining were temporary ones.

The NIS chief said that his officers and men were vigilant to prevent foreigners from participating in the forthcoming general elections.

I understand u bro, most people that stay on nl insulting buhari and gej don't even know the name of the local goverment area where they reside talkless of knowing the name of the lg chairman.are those the kind of people that will now demand to know how much their local govt is collecting monthly not to talk of demanding how it is spent. Intelligent, brilliant and responsible people have neglected politics and abandoned it to thugs ,rouges, murderers and drug pushers so what type of governance are we expecting. if you want a change in nigeria ,you can start and spearhead that change. Gani fawehinmi was a man like u and me but he decided to effect a change in the system and he made a mark for himself. It is time for nigerian youths to take active part in nigerian politics
I can't fault what you wrote there, you're absolutely right. We stay online expecting to change our system and policies and end up debating for sake of debating.

Until every single nigerian youth get actively involved in politics ,we will keep having recycled old politicians. By getting actively involved I don't mean by staying 24hrs on nairaland insulting politicians ,I mean by joining political parties and demanding answers from leaders
Now this is what am trying to say.

Young ones are busy flying abroad to obtain masters degrees that we don't need in nigeria. The freshiest and best of our young leaders are abroad criticizing the government on web media.
Because the system favours the old politicians. To become even a local government councillor you need a God father. Since he put you there, he dictates what you should or should not do. The system needs an overhaul.

I smell nonsense here. @OP who said Buhari is 75 years old? If your dad was of that age, will you say he is now incapable of leading his household? Abeg ehn, we prefer Buhari to lead us than a youth who will focus more on amassing wealth for himself, relatives and close allies.
Maybe he is not 75yrs but he is still mates with all those who rule years ago. People like Shagari, Obasanjo etc are his peers, only in Africa or the Arab world do you have this sit tight people. Check Asia, Europe or America, no recycling of leaders there.

PoliticsHow Can We Stop Recycling Leaders? by BrosPeter(op): 6:50pm On Dec 20, 2014
Write it down now, those ruling us today will come back to rule our children.
Those who rule Nigeria in the 1960s would come back in the 1980s to rule. Those who ruled in the 1980s would come back in the 2000s to rule. How do we start taking back our country from these men of yesteryears? The same people have remained in our political landscape for decades with no end in sight. With present system people like Fashola can never rule, same with Ribadu, Oshiomhole, Rochas etc. Why does the system favour the old brigade, is it because they control the system?

George Bush senior cannot come back to rule America neither can his son George W Bush and don't expect Obama in 30yrs to want a return to power.
In Nigeria you have 75yrs old Buhari and 85yr old Tony Anenih still controlling our affairs. We need a way of wrestling power from these people so we can breath in new ideas and take the country to a new level.
How do we go from here, do we need a Jerry Rawlings to execute our former leaders or should we start the "African" spring like the Arabs?
GEJ has not perform to expectations but Buhari is a no no, he should go and retire like his peers like Shagari, Gowon, Abdulsalami, Obj etc.
We need new blood in our state and national assembly not those like David Mark who sees the place like his house.

the moment I read his post, I knew it was utter crap.

Someone has proven him wrong with documented facts, read the 2 party manifesto of the two British political parties above and see how it proves him wrong.

He should confirm his facts before rushing to post.
Did you read his reply?
4Play:
You are not denying that the APC manifesto is uncosted. In response, you have posted a link to the Tory party homepage and the Labour party's 78 pages long detailed and costed manifesto. Can you tell me how either supports your affinity to vacuous political promises?

To even imply that the detailed political discourse we have in the West is no different from the charade you have in Nigeria is beyond comprehension.

Lets take one issue: Can you estimate the costs of free healthcare for all in Nigeria and how we will pay for it. More importantly, why haven't any of the state governors put this in place already?
bros lets shame the devil, he answered it briliantly.

A post history of the guy 4play defeat your arguement he is dumb. Try and go through his post to know you're way behind him in intelligence, sorry to say it like that. i checked his post history before before, not even today.

its derail when any question is put to you buhari people abi? if you want to know jonahs students you go to ph.

the motive for this thread is obvious to unbiased people, this is a joke thread.

There is no use arguing with you... You are obviously a TAN PPP. Use Google to show me when Obama was campaigning and made promises showing cost details.

A manifesto is defined as "a published verbal declaration of the intentions, motives, or views of the issuer, be it an individual, group, political party or government". Show me the published declaration.
you're the paid poster, you posted what apc will do and someone who lives in abroad asked how and where the money will come from and i agreed with him. why didn't you argue with the guy i seconded? here is his post.

4Play:
Thank God I am a British citizen. The sheer absurdity of Nigeria's political discourse never ceases to amaze.

A manifesto that lists a set of uncosted objectives is an insult to any educated person's intelligence. Promises to build refineries, infrastructure and raise spending as a percentage of GDP are abundant but no word on the costs and how this is to be paid for. And these are educated Nigerians.
the poster is a british citizen, thats how its done over there, apc needs to tell us where they will get the money. empty promises otherwise.

Am not holding brief for buhari. But focus on the issue at hand. The op is trying to research wheather Gej not buhari had student he lectured before.
someone was saying jonah read zoology to create laughter, i asked him what qualification his hero buhari have. Its a valid question, buhari people should never bring down jonahs qualification, knowing buhari didn't go to uni.
if you want to know jonah's students, why not go to ph or bayelsa.

I've answered this question previously and will answer again. The manifesto itself shows places the government should cut cost. If you cut cost - unnecessary expenditure, reduce corruption and grow the budget to 30% of GDP, they will pay for these things. The clear takeaway for you from this is a manifesto shouldn't contain cost details. This is globally acceptable practice. My challenge is still open - show me PDP's manifesto. I hope you won't try to sidestep the question again.
how much will they raise from the cost cutting? Oya tell me make i hear.
As for pdp manifesto google it, am not a paid poster, jonah read out his manifesto the day he got pdp nomination to be presidential candidate.

lastly, who told you evading cost details is globally accepted? So obama will just tell americans he will do this and that without telling them where he would get the money?
