Christians, keep your sword sharp Tue, 17 Jun 2025 ‘Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God;’ Ephesians 6:17 Paul warned his spiritual son and successor, Timothy: ‘Know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!’ (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV). As you read this list, you realise Paul could easily have been describing the generation we live in today. So, what’s the answer? Be followers of God who know how to skilfully wield the sword of His Word. And if you are one of them, rest assured Satan has targeted you. He wants to blunt the sharp edge of your sword so that your message is ineffective. It’s an old trick that the Philistines, Israel’s arch-enemies, used to keep them in captivity. They got rid of all the blacksmiths in the land (see 1 Samuel 13:19). Consequently, the Israelites had no way to sharpen their swords, defend themselves, and throw off the yoke of oppression. Are you getting the message? God’s people tend to grow dull and need to be sharpened spiritually. As Christians, we need to be spiritual blacksmiths and keep our sword sharpened. And it’s Satan’s job to try and stop you any way he can (see 1 Peter 5: . So, live on your knees and live in God’s Word. The hour is late, and the need is great. God is counting on you to keep your sword sharp. |
Wow.....happy birthday sir. You've really come a long way. May the Lord continue to sustain and uphold you in Jesus name 🙏 |
Rejoice—day forty-one is coming! Mon, 16 Jun 2025 ‘For forty days he was tempted by the devil.’ Luke 4:2 In Scripture, the number forty denotes testing, trials, and temptation. God told Noah, ‘Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made’ (Genesis 7:4 NIV). Goliath defied the armies of Israel for forty days: ‘For forty days the Philistine came forward every morning and evening and took his stand’ (1 Samuel 17:16 NIV). On the threshold of His ministry, Jesus was attacked by Satan for forty days: ‘Jesus … was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days He was tempted by the devil. …’ (Luke 4:1-2 NIV). But day forty-one was coming! After forty days of rain, God gave mankind a new beginning. After forty days of Goliath’s threats, God gave David a spectacular victory. After forty days of temptation, ‘Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through the whole countryside’ (Luke 4:14 NIV). So, the word for today is – hang in there; day forty-one is coming! Don’t give in to fear and despair. Don’t give up, and don’t run. God has ordained victory for you. You may have taken a few hits and carry a few scars, but God will bring you through and make you stronger and wiser if you trust Him and stand on His Word. The Bible says, ‘… greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world’ (1 John 4:4 KJV). The power at work within you is greater than the circumstances that surround you and the foes that oppose you. So, the word for today is—rejoice—day forty-one is coming! |

Fathers, leave footprints for your children Sun, 15 Jun 2025 ‘Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.’ Ephesians 6:4 The story is told of a man in a supermarket pushing a trolley with a screaming baby. He kept repeating softly, ‘Keep calm, George. Everything’s going to be okay, George.’ A lady watching with admiration said to the man, ‘You are to be commended for your patience in trying to quiet little George.’ The man replied, ‘Lady, you’ve got it wrong; I’m George!’ If you’re a parent, you can relate. Instead of saying, ‘Fathers, do not exasperate your children,’ doesn’t it sometimes seem like the Scripture should read, ‘Children, don’t annoy your fathers’? But it doesn’t. That’s because parents are called to be an example of God’s love, and children learn best from observation. Shopping at the supermarket is an opportunity to show your children the proper way to behave. There is no greater role model for children than a parent. And there has never been a greater need for godly parents than today. Colossians 3:21 says, ‘Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged’ (NKJV). That means being a model of patience and love to your children. From potty training to education—parents are put in place by God to be a tool that transforms the teachings of the Bible into a living witness to their children. In a time when we’re paying a high price for the lack of real fathers in the home, Scripture reminds us, ‘… The father shall make known Your truth to the children’ (Isaiah 38:19 NKJV). Father, commit yourself to following the Lord, and leaving footprints for your children to walk in. |
Russian can't be trusted when it comes to competing with USA. Anyway, all of them have right. |

ariesbull:don't mind all our Southwest governors. Instead of them to emulate the system of government in Lagos State, they are all just messing around. One has even turned himself into puppet by dancing around like werey. And yet, he is happy that he's been called a "Dancing Senator" Awon oloriburuku!!! |
ariesbull:we are so unlucky sir. Especially with this "thing" as referred to BAT. "Eleyi of Ogun State. Very useless man he is. |
Haven't I said it in the past that Dapo was the worst thing to have happened to Ogun State as a governor? But posterity will judge him. How do you expect someone that cannot even write his own name well on a piece of paper to govern a state? How on earth do you expect someone that cannot read a complete statement to be at helm of an affair? Abiodun was a nightmare. Truly he came, he saw but he failed woefully. Dapo Abiodun is a total disgrace. |
Will the Benue just folds their hands and allow this continue? |
Who are you depending on? Sat, 14 Jun 2025 ‘For without Me you can do nothing.’ John 15:5 Because God’s Spirit lives within you doesn’t guarantee His power is at work in your life. God’s power is available, but you must plug into it. Jesus associates our spiritual life with a vine and its branches: ‘I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing’ (John 15:5 NKJV). In this comparison, the branch is completely dependent on the main vine; it cannot yield fruit on its own. Growing fruit is an internal job. If someone tied apples onto the branches of a dead tree and said, ‘Look at this fruit tree,’ what would you say? You would probably say, ‘You tied those things on.’ That’s similar to when a Christian says, ‘I’m going to tie on a bunch of fruit in my life—a little patience now, a little goodness later, a little self-control at another time. I will do it by myself.’ Impossible! It’s the fruit of the Spirit, not the efforts of the flesh. Jesus said, ‘He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit.’ How can you tell you’re abiding (or residing) in Christ? Consider your prayer life. Your prayers reveal your dependence on God. What do you pray about? Whatever you pray about is what you’re relying on God for. The Bible says, ‘Never stop praying’ (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT). Pray about your decisions, needs, temptations, interests, plans, schedule, problems, purchases; specifically, pray about everything! Doing this is what it means to ‘abide’—being aware that God is always with you, practising His presence. |
Get alone with God (3) Fri, 13 Jun 2025 ‘When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfil it.’ Ecclesiastes 5:4 When the pressures in your life begin to mount, the first thing you will be tempted to drop is your time alone with God, praying and reading His Word. And what’s more, Satan knows if he can keep you from it, he has won the battle, and he will get no opposition from you. So, how can you overcome this problem? 1) By making a covenant with God. Think about it: why do we make marriage vows? So we will think twice about breaking them! It’s the same in your devotional life: ‘When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfil it ...’ (Ecclesiastes 5:4 NIV) 2) By scheduling it. Block out time to meet with God each day, just like you would for a doctor’s appointment or a business meeting. Can you think of a more important appointment? Surely not! 3) By being prepared for the devil’s excuses. Adopt the Boy Scout motto: Be prepared! American preacher, Dr Robert G. Lee used to say, ‘If you wake up in the morning and don’t meet the devil face on, it means you’re headed in the same direction!’ 4) By leaving your Bible open the night before to the verses you intend to read the next morning. When you wake up, it will remind you that the most important thing you have to do today is meet with God. What if you miss a day? Don’t worry—and don’t go on a guilt trip. If you miss a meal, you don’t give up eating, right? It just means you eat a little more at the next one and move on from there. |
Emmaken25:..and me too oooo in Jesus name. I tapped into this testimony God that you are more than able 🙏 |

Get alone with God (1) Wed, 11 Jun 2025 ‘Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.’ Mark 1:35 To grow spiritually, you must get alone with God. When you come into His presence, you should have these attitudes: 1) Anticipation. Expect to give and get from your time together. Make it a time of intimacy. It’s impossible to have a love affair in a public place; intimacy calls for being alone with the one you love. The Bible speaks about Christ as the groom and us as His bride (see 2 Corinthians 11:2). Think of the anticipation and excitement shared in such moments. 2) Reverence. Don’t rush into God’s presence. Prepare your heart by being still before Him and letting the quietness clear away the thoughts of the world. Remind yourself who you’re meeting with—God! The One who is ‘… worthy … to receive glory and honour …’ (Revelation 4:11 NIV). 3) Alertness. Go to bed early so you will be in good shape to meet with God in the morning. He deserves your full attention. Give Him the best part of your day—when you’re the freshest. Follow Christ’s example: ‘Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed’ (Mark 1:35 NIV). 4) Willingness. It’s crucial that you don’t come to your quiet time to decide what you will or won’t do, but with the purpose of doing anything and everything God wants you to do. John says, ‘And we will receive from Him whatever we ask because we obey Him and do the things that please Him’ (1 John 3:22 NLT). When you get alone with God, make up your mind to do whatever He says. |
Connect. Commit. Communicate. Tue, 10 Jun 2025 ‘She has been helpful to many, and especially to me.’ Romans 16:2 When it comes to life’s great achievers, the apostle Paul is in a league of his own. But he takes one entire chapter of the Bible, Romans 16, to acknowledge all the people who helped him to succeed in his calling. The chapter could be captioned ‘I couldn’t have done it without you!’ He starts by talking about Phoebe, ‘… who is worthy of honour … for she has been helpful to many, and especially to me’ (Romans 16:2 NLT). President Lyndon Johnson said, ‘There are no problems we cannot solve together, and very few that we can solve by ourselves.’ When God created Adam, He said, ‘... It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper …’ (Genesis 2:18 NKJV). And He created Eve. From the beginning of time, God teaches us that very little of significance is ever accomplished by an individual acting alone. Look below the surface, and you will invariably find that all the single-handed feats are really team efforts. Australian pioneer of the aviation industry, Charles Kingsford Smith, with his co-pilot Charles Ulm achieved a series of aviation firsts. Australian doctors Ken and Jocelyn Elliott were a formidible team, working in Burkina Faso. Even German-born physicist Albert Einstein acknowledged: ‘Many times a day I realise how much my own outer and inner life is built upon the labours of my fellow men, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received.’ The secret to success in any endeavour can be summed up in these three words: connect … commit … communicate. |
