PoliticsRe: Ballot Papers Used Were Neither Signed Nor Stamped - Omisore. by bubbllie(op): 1:28pm On Aug 14, 2014
Femmyfamous4u: I thot he's gone to the tribunal, he should go and tell them that with evidence. Omisore is a drowning man looking for a straw to clinch. I participated in the osun state election an INEC adhoc staff. We were trained for three days and camped at the eve of the election where we received both sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials. I for 1, signed and stamped all ballot papers even before they were issued to voters. Well, if for any reason, a presiding officer did not sign and stamp the ballot paper before issuing same to voters, it might be to fast track the electoral process which is not justifiable anyway and if proven to be true, it would lead to a re-run of election in that particular area. I'm very sure if there's anything like that,it won't be up to 5 polling units. This however, cannot spin the victory.
Well said..., you got me nodding my head.

Senator Iyiola Omisore has raised alarm that the ballot papers used in the just concluded Osun State Gubernatorial Election were not signed and stamped before the elections commenced.
He further stated that this was in contravention of the electoral act and that appropriate steps would be taken to reclaim what is rightfully his.

HealthNew Ebola Case Confirmed In Lagos, Bringing The Number Of Victims To Ten. by bubbllie(op): 12:36pm On Aug 11, 2014
ABUJA (AFP) – Nigeria on Monday confirmed a new case of Ebola in the financial capital Lagos, bringing the total number of people in the country with the virus to 10.
Health minister Onyebuchi Chukwu said the latest confirmed case was a female nurse who came into contact with a Liberian-American man, Patrick Sawyer, who died of Ebola in a Lagos hospital on July 25.
In addition to Sawyer, another nurse who had contact with him died last week, while seven other people have been confirmed to have the virus in the city, he added.
“The 10th case actually was one of the nurses who also had primary contact with the index case. When he (Sawyer) got ill, we then brought her into isolation,” the minister told a news conference in Abuja.
“We just tested her over the weekend. So, that’s what made it 10. So, between Friday and today we had one additional case. That brings it to 10 and the 10 includes the index case.”
Chukwu said the nurse was currently undergoing treatment while her husband was under surveillance.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday there were 13 probable and suspect cases of Ebola, including two deaths, in Nigeria.
The minister did not comment on the discrepancy in the figures.
The WHO is discussing the possible use of an experimental treatment to try to stem the spread of the deadly virus, which has claimed nearly 1,000 lives in four West African countries this year.
Nigeria has announced a number of measures to curb the spread of Ebola, including the declaration of a national emergency in line with WHO advice to trigger disaster response procedures.
President Goodluck Jonathan has announced greater funding to stop the spread such as setting up additional isolation centres, border screenings and contact tracing.
People in Africa’s most populous nation and leading economy have been told to avoid large gatherings.
The authorities in Lagos, which is sub-Saharan Africa’s largest city, have however appealed for volunteers because of a shortage of medical personnel exacerbated by a month-long doctors’ strike.
The health minister on Monday confirmed that public sector doctors were pressing on with their stoppage after divisions within the National Medical Association union (NMA) created confusion.
NMA boss Kayode Obembe on Thursday announced the suspension of the strike citing the need to help tackle the Ebola crisis.
But other key players in the union refused to follow his directive, saying the government had not met any of their demands. Obembe has reportedly resigned as the NMA president.
The health minister on Monday said he was “pleading” with the union to return to work.
The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) meanwhile said it had activated all its volunteers to get across preventative measures to the public, particularly seeking early medical advice and treatment.
Secretary-general Bello Hamman Diram said 18 volunteers were assisting in areas such as contact tracing, health promotion, case management and public information schemes.
Some 300 other volunteers will be deployed to help the federal and Lagos State governments in providing protective equipment as well as educational and hygiene materials.

FamilyMan Kills Wife. Says She Infected Him With HIV by bubbllie(op): 1:27am On Aug 11, 2014
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Phillip Katongu, for allegedly stabbing his wife to death.

Katongu, who hails from Wamba, Nasarawa State, was apprehended by operatives of the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba, Lagos.

The police said the victim, Justina, was stabbed to death in a street at Oniru Estate, Maroko, Lagos, where she and her husband were living.

Our correspondent learnt that Justina was stabbed in about three places before she died. Also, the knife used for the murder had been recovered by the police.

Justina, who hailed from Kauro, Kaduna State, did not have any child for the suspect before her death.

It was also learnt that Katongu, who worked as a construction worker on the Victoria Island, had a wife outside the marriage in Nasarawa State before marrying the deceased.

However, after having allegedly killing the wife, Katongu was said to have also attempted to commit suicide before the neighbours forced the door open and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was revived.

Forty-five-year-old Katongu, told policemen that he killed his wife because she infected him with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, among other misdeeds.

He said, “I married Justina, my second wife in December 2010. I later learnt that she had given birth to two girls for a man. The girls died of AIDS.

“However, when we first met, she did not tell me all these. I explained to her that I have a wife with children and I wanted to marry her too. Before marriage, I told her we should go to hospital to conduct HIV test, but she refused and said that she was HIV negative. So we started sleeping together.”

Katongu added that without his knowledge, his wife had been going to Abuja for medical treatment every three months for HIV, until March 2013 when she took him along.

He said it was at the hospital that she disclosed her HIV status to him.

He said, “I was angry and told the doctor who equally blamed her for not disclosing it to me. The doctor then tested me, and I was positive. We came back to Lagos and continued with the relationship because I loved her. But suddenly, she told me she wanted to pack out from my house that she was no longer interested in marrying me having had another person in Abuja. In fact, the man usually called her on phone while we were together.

“I told her that with her status, she should not go and be infecting people with the virus. And that I will kill her and kill myself. We started fighting and I stabbed her. It was in the early hours. I stabbed her three times with a knife. She shouted and people were knocking at our door.

After she died, I stabbed myself, and the people broke the door open. I woke up to find myself in a hospital. I feel very bad that I killed my wife. I loved her very much.”

Christianity EtcThe Miraculous Cow In India Blessing Women With Boy Children by bubbllie(op): 1:50pm On Dec 30, 2013
A 5-legged cow has been hailed a miracle because when pregnant women touch
its fifth hoof they give birth to baby boys.
Raj Pratap's 3-year-old male calf, called Raju, has become famous in Raipur, India,
since a woman with four daughters touched the animal's fifth hoof and begged for
her next child to be a boy.
When she gave birth to a twin boys in February this year, word soon spread that
the calf's fifth leg - a very rare condition which affects just one in every five million
cows - was 'lucky'.
Since news got out about the fifth leg, Mr Pratap, a cattle herder, has been
swamped by pregnant women who pay to touch the hoof - with 30 women so far
stumping up around 500 rupees, around £5, for the privilege.
Amazingly, all 30 women have given birth to boys and Mr Pratap is so confident of
his 'miracle calf' that he offers refunds if the baby born is a girl.
This week, on Dec 23, the cow celebrated its 33rd baby boy after a woman who
touched its 'magical hoof' gave birth to triplets....all of them boys.
According to Mr Pratap: "All births have been positive and have resulted in a son -
and this week a woman gave birth to triplets, all of them boys.
'I don't know why this has happened to us but Raju has a gift and I want to share
it with the whole world. 'Some day I dream of taking Raju to Europe or America and
making every couple there happy.'
In India boys are 'more valued' than girls as they have 'greater earning potential'
to support the family.
Cows are considered sacred by Hindus who believe one of their most important
gods Lord Krishna to have been a cattle herder.
Across India they are allowed to roam the streets of towns and cities and it is
forbidden to move them, even if they are obstructing traffic...
What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe it?

This is about me, he and she.
We three are undergraduates of thesame university.
Well, he and she are in a relationship and I'm aware of it.
After a some time, he opened up to me that she's been cheating on him. He further stated that he had caught her at least four times with some other guys.
And each time this happens, she always apologised and he just couldn't help forgiving and taking her back. Reasonhuh He loved her.
Shey u dey follow mehuh
Well as a good friend, I advised him to have a heart to heart talk with her to find out what she really wants. Perhaps, there's something missing in the relationship which is readily available in some other guys.
He did as I said and came back to tell me that she said she has found another guy and she couldn't continue with him in the relationship explaining to my friend that she easily gets emotionally attached to guys. Besides, she accused him of never being emotionally available (whatever that meant).
Again as a friend, I advised him to move on as she never loved him.
He did as I said but once in a while, they talk on the phone and see eachother in school. Even before the ASUU strike, I once met her in my friend's hostel.

To cut the whole long story short, she's after me!
She's been sending me some suggestive text messages, asking me out. The whatsapp conversation between the two of us is something my girlfriend mustn't see.
Worst part of this?? She tells my friend(her ex) about our conversations - how "funny" I am, you know the rest.
Just this morning, I got a wake up call from my friend saying "well done o. She told me you are her new boyfriend. Hope you are having fun?"
And before I could talk myself out of the perceived allegation, he hung up. What do I do?
