SportsT B Joshua To Predict U17 Champion! by buffead(op): 5:07pm On Oct 23, 2009
In an unprecedented move the well known Bishop T B Joshua, around which a lot of controversy has arisen as a result of Ghana winning the U20 World champion, has stated that he will predict the winner of U17 worldcup. Speaking on emmanuel tv, Bishop TB Joshua, promised to unveil this prophesy on Sunday just before he shares the benediction during the last church service of the day.

According to the report, the miracle performing bishop declared that due to the level of embarrassment caused him and his ministry by the Ghana Satellite, no African team will qualify for the second round of the U17 tournament. The only remedy to this curse, he adds, is to organize a three day fasting and prayer session which starts on Monday till the beginning of the tournament.
Meanwhile the tournament, that begins on Wednesday, will see the Super Eaglets of Nigeria taking on the German U17 team. The Germans are reported to be in high hope of winning the opening match. Bernd Barutta, head of the 44-man German delegation, told reporters in Abuja that the team draws much inspiration from the prophesy of the Nigerian pastor describing him as a possible messiah in football competitions held on African soil. This the coach said, is as a result of the miraculous win of the Satellite over the Brazilian. He said, "

how can there be no goal in a final match in which an African team play with 10 men play against a full Brazilian team for about 90 minutes? See how miraculous the penalty kicks too were."
SportsVolunteers Ready, Kitted by buffead(op): 4:10pm On Oct 23, 2009
All the eight centres for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup Nigeria 2009, are now buzzing and living in excitement over the arrival of volunteers to the sub-seats. Monitors in all the eight sub-seats of Abuja, Bauchi, Calabar, Enugu, Ijebu-Ode, Kaduna, Kano and Lagos have sent in reports about the excitement these volunteers have created in their various designated centres.
According to crunched out numbers coming from the Main LOC’s computers here in Abuja, 1,700 volunteers have been sent out to the eight sub-seats, with the Abuja centre taking the highest number of 300. The remaining 1, 400 were shared out to the seven sub-seats at 250 to five of them and 100 to the remaining two. The two sub-seats with 100 are Ijebu-Ode and Bauchi.

According to an LOC source, all the 1, 700 volunteers were supplied with kits for their jobs, such as a full uniform Addias track suit and another set made of African fabrics, with the logo of the tournament monogrammed on each set. When asked to confirm the position of the volunteers, the head of the section, Chief Emeka Inyama said it was not the fact that the volunteers are already setting their various sub-seats aglow that is of excitement to him but the fact that every member of the volunteers unit were bubbling with so much patriotism, and that long before they were sent out, they had been looking forward towards doing a job for the country.

We are very excited by the attitude of these men and women. They have been showing so much commitment to the cause of hosting a highly successful tournament.
The interest they have all shown to the job is something to be preached to all Nigerians for emulation.
Right from the word ‘go’, when we had called out for interested people to come in and apply, we have been amazed by the interest shown, with 14, 000 turning up for consideration. It is from this number that we have taken the final 1, 700 that completed the full training, and all the lot have been well-trained to our high standard, fully kitted and accredited. They are all set to go.”
