I've noticed that whenever people talk about remote jobs, everybody immediately jumps to software development. Meanwhile, many Nigerians are quietly earning in dollars from jobs that have absolutely nothing to do with coding. Some of these jobs require experience. Some require only communication skills and consistency. Examples include: Software Development Customer Support Virtual Assistant Roles Writing and Copywriting Graphic Design Video Editing Digital Marketing Sales and Business Development Project Management Data and AI Related Jobs Personally, I think customer support, virtual assistant work, writing, video editing and digital marketing are the easiest entry points for most Nigerians. What surprises me is that many people are still spending months applying randomly on LinkedIn without focusing on a category first. For those already earning remotely: Which category are you in? Which one pays best in your experience? Which would you recommend for someone starting from zero in Nigeria today? I'm genuinely curious to hear real experiences from people already doing this. |
