PoliticsMeet The 43 Year Old Elected Prime Minister Of Grenada Dickon Mitchel by Built2last(op): 1:42pm On Aug 03, 2022
Mitchell was born in Saint David, Grenada. He received an LLB (Hons) from the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, and completed his Legal Education Certificate at Hugh Wooding Law School in 2002.

After graduation, he began as an Associate Attorney-at-Law at the firm Grant, Joseph & Co. He founded his own firm Mitchell & Co. in 2017.

Political career

Mitchell was elected leader of the National Democratic Congress party on 31 October 2021.

Prime Minister of Grenada

National Democratic Congress won the 2022 general election with slightly over 51% of the popular vote and winning nine out of the fifteen available seats. Mitchell reacted to the election victory by announcing that he would ask the governor-general , Dame Cécile La Grenade, to declare 24 June a national public or bank holiday so that "citizens can celebrate the liberation day and the victory that they have created for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique".On 24 June, Mitchell was sworn in as the ninth prime minister of Grenada, succeeding Keith Mitchell. He pledged to end nepotism in the Grenadian society and reform the electoral system. He took the additional portfolio of Minister of Finance of Grenada and created a new Ministry called the Ministry of Mobilization, Implementation and Transformation. During his speech at the swearing in of Ministers ceremony, he promised to pay teachers their withheld salaries.

Former PM Keith Mitchell, 75, who sought a sixth term and a third consecutive electoral victory, congratulated the new PM Dickon Mitchell and promised to play a constructive role as opposition leader.

In the 2013 and 2018 general elections, Keith Mitchell’s NNP swept the polls, winning all 15 seats in the lower house of the parliament. The elections were due by June next year. However, in May, Keith Mitchell called for snap elections. On May 16, he requested the Governor General to dissolve the parliament and set June 23 as the date for general elections.

The new PM, Dickon Mitchell, has pledged to improve health care, decrease unemployment and poverty, build affordable housing and boost education.

Grenada joined the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) in December 2014 under Former PM Keith Mitchell’s administration. The country benefited from the regional integration mechanism in the fields of education and health. The ALBA-TCP member countries hope to strengthen regional cooperation with the new government.

International greetings
Several heads of state and government congratulated Mitchell on his election.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, in a tweet, congratulated Dickon Mitchell and ratified the country’s “will to continue advancing in the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Grenada and Cuba, for the benefit of the people of both nations.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro also sent his regards. “We send sincere congratulations and the commitment to continue consolidating ties of brotherhood with the peoples of the Caribbean,” he tweeted.

Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister Philip Pierre also congratulated his Grenadian counterpart. “On behalf of the government and the people of Saint Lucia, I wish to extend congratulations to PM-Elect Dickon Mitchell and the NDC on their electoral victory. You have an opportunity to shape your country’s future in conformity with the collective aspirations of the people,” he wrote in a tweet.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ Prime Minister, Ralph Gonsalves, also sent his best wishes and expressed that “I look forward to working with the new government in advancing the regional agenda.”

Similarly, Dominica’s PM Roosevelt Skerrit, Barbados’ PM Mia Mottley, and the secretary General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Carla Barnett, among other leaders, also sent their greetings.

Even Yusuf would NOT win his Zaria/Sabon gari local governments not to talk of Kaduna State. You can bet this with me. Yusuf is completely irrelevant as far as Northern politics is concerned and as such, he is not even a choice for us to make
Do some political calculations sir.

We don't expect Yusuf to win Kaduna. Not with a dictator like hellrufai. 25 to 30% will do for Yusuf which Southern Kaduna and non indigenes will give him.

can you see that you people have not sat down to calculate how the over all numbers will play out
PoliticsRe: 10 States With The Highest Number Of Registered Voters As Of August 1, 2022 by Built2last:
As INEC has published voter register by regions, Obidients should not worry.

Go and check, APC Got 55% Vote in Lagos, PDP got 44% in 2015 presidential election. Labour Party and Obi effect will shake Lagos this time around
Lagos may have a high voter registration but non indigenes and disgruntled people against Tinubu makes over 60% of the registered voters.

Let's analyse objectively.

Also a Presidential aspirant can still get 22m Votes without winning in the North West this has happened in 2011presidential election

Goodluck in 2011, he didn't win in those strong northern states, he won the election with 22 million votes, losing woefully in States like Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Sokoto, Yobe, Zamfara

I am revealing this secret so we can all understand that no region has any monopoly on votes...A surprise might just happen in 2023. This is the statistics Peter Obi & Datti Baba-Ahmed are looking at and it’s quite promising.

Don't allow anyone fool you 2023 election is very much open.

Few factors have further opened the race.

1. The new electoral act makes it more difficult to rig the election.

2. INEC now has over 96 million registered voters. Nigeria since 1999 has never recorded 50 million people come out to vote in any election.

Meaning there are over 50million voters who have either been averse or cared less. Today, hunger and poverty is resetting brains. Insecurity is driving people up the wall of dissatisfaction. Those people might choose to vote now to express their frustration.

The Northern voter is left with 4 choices. Vote Tinubu For APC, Vote Atiku for PDP, vote
Kwankwaso for NNPP or vote Yusuf Datti Ahmed for Labour party. The Northern vote is clearly split into four.

The chances of OBI is higher than all others.

Engr Ibrahim Said Uba said; Biafra and Oduduwa agitations temporarily suspended because of 2023 election.

My Response; Yes....there were agitations in the first place because of bad governance and general sense of disillusion among the citizens.
When people feel hopeless and frustrated in a particular arrangement, they seek alternative to stay alive and breath.
So, ELECTIONs is once again an opportunity to seek to correct a terribly governaned space ..so, it is nothing to be ashamed that agitation are seemingly suspended, only first class clowns mock people with that....if we get it right and people are growing, prospering and not economically strangled, agitation will possibly die forever....but if we keep electing crooks to continue destroying this particular nation, people are within their right to seek new alternative to a non working system/Nation.

So, much love for one NIGERIA should be expressed by getting leadership right, activating prosperity for majority and giving people sense of belonging.

PoliticsPastor Bakare Reacts To Reports Of Endorsing Tinubu, Speaking Against CAN by Built2last(op): 1:23pm On Jul 23, 2022
The General Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has refuted claims that he endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for 2023 elections, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Bakare who made the rebuttal in a statement debunking insinuations that he was working against the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on the Muslim-Muslim ticket by Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima

In a recent post on Bakare’s Facebook handle, he described the aforesaid allegations as absolute lies.

“My attention has been drawn to the viral but concocted and ridiculous statements credited to me, by some unscrupulous writers and bloggers. Amongst other things, I was quoted to have said that the agitations by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), were ploys by the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to force a weak candidate on APC.

In addition to this, I was alleged to have said that CAN wanted to lure APC into presenting a weak candidate. The spurious writers also alleged that I stressed that Christians are righteous people who behave like Christ, and that CAN are politicians who behave like PDP.

“As if the poorly strewn lies were not enough, I was quoted as saying that Tinubu is my candidate. Isn’t this the same Tinubu that I announced to all and sundry at the APC Presidential Convention that I was not stepping down for? He has suddenly become my candidate!

I wish to state unequivocally that the statements are absolute lies. There was nowhere I granted anyone any interview, or preached on any platform, where I said the ludicrous statements. I challenge anyone who is in possession of the video or audio file of the statements to please put it in the public space.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I am a nation builder who will not in any way create real or imaginary division among the people of our great country, through the medium of political parties or religion.

I therefore use this medium to ask everyone to disregard the alleged statements. The statements are not mine, and do not in any way represent my position. This is part of the lying propaganda of the mischievous ones seeking approval by deceit and at all costs. If the peddlers of this deliberate falsehood don’t desist from their highly condemnable acts, they will definitely have their day in court. Enough is enough“.

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Visits Abia Governor, Ikpeazu In Umuobiakwa (PHOTOS) by Built2last: 1:19pm On Jul 23, 2022
The new electoral act signed by Buhari on 28th of February 2022 will make it very difficult to rig next year's election.

It scares APC and their supporters.

From polling unit all agents sign and upload to INEC server. All agents snaps and keeps copy of the result. All agents sends a copy to their situation room.

INEC is ahead. But I still dey look them with one eye

Do I hate Tinubu? No.

My problem is with the party. I kept record of all the promises they made. I take promises seriously. Tinubu and his team are trying so hard to excuse themselves from the colossal failure of this administration in the last 7 years. But the party is the party. Tinubu enjoyed the title "National Leader of APC" if he had the magic wand, he would have suggested it to Buhari. If Buhari is not listening Tinubu should have taken the honourable part to apologise to Nigerians and ensure Buhari doesn't have a free ride to return in 2019. Tinubu literally reinforced failure. Nigeria is now in a cesspit of gross poverty. As in, people are hungry. Graduates are either kidnapping, prostitution, making skits or wasting away. No thanks to APC.

In 2014 when APC started their quest to rescue Nigeria from GEJ administration, the naira dollar exchange rate was around $1 = ₦157. When they took over power CBN was $1 = 198 naira

Meaning that, if you earned ₦300,000 a month, it was equivalent to $2,000.

Today, the exchange rate is $1 = ₦630. So if you earn ₦300,000 today, it is equivalent to $476. How do you see this abysmal decline and have the nerve to support that same party.
This represents a value destruction of 76.2% (in dollar terms, a rough estimate) - in just seven years!!

It will be difficult for APC to openly campaign and make promises again. The internet is littered with their unkept promises. Which an army of youths are ready to take them up on.

ASUU has been on strike since February, ASUU is asking for initial 56 billion naira. Accountant general was alleged to have stolen 84 billion. As reported by EFCC. That case today has entered voice mail. An amount that can return our children to school was stolen by one man under the watch of APC and he is walking free.

Those supporting APC are enemies of Nigeria and have no conscience. If they have conscience, it's be clouded by either religious bigotry or ethnic chauvinism.

APC SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED NEAR ASO ROCK AGAIN.
