The person that first broke the news of the 26million people applying for the job was just a mischief maker but if you had read the news really, you could have deduce he/she was very wrong.

The NNPC website had over 26million hits/view doesn’t mean 26 million applied. I’m not sure about the experience hire but the graduate trainee, those that applied is not more than 250k (which is still much by the way).

I can’t count the number of times I went on that website especially since I had trouble uploading my passport and a host of others had the same issues then we still have others who couldn’t apply because they didn’t meet the criteria or those that just view for the website for confirmation or something, all these contributed to the 26 million hit/view.

Punch newspaper has it that over 22 million people applied for ALL positions. Not sure of the number for Graduate Trainees.
