Assuming that the DNA results are the last thing pending, we should be able to get the visa printed long before May 20. smiley
. OK, thanks so much, for now, it seems to be the only issue, because we have had our interview since Feb.19.

Ah, looks like I wasn't clear. The waiting list for DNA sample collection is extremely long for USCIS cases, but once the samples have been collected, the results are processed fairly quickly whether it's a USCIS case or one of our own cases. You should be fine. Also, your police certificate must be valid on the day of printing, but you can enter the country after it expires.
. Thanks ma, my DNA was requested by the consulate here in Lagos ma, hope my Visa will be ready on or 20th of May when my police certificate will expire? To make it clearer, my DNA result will be out this week Wednesday ma, before it will be sent to you here in Lagos and to solve it out from others, please can I be assured my visa will be ready by 20th ma? Am so grateful for this your selfless service to my family and to mankind in general.

Happy Golden Jubilee to your parents so happy for them, and pray my parents too will enjoy such and myself whenever I get married. Please my question is, is there and difference from a normal DNA testing and that of USIC DNA testing or so that someone asked you? I was at the Embassy on the 15th for my d DNA and I was told it will be out in two weeks, which is next Wednesday, please hope mine won't take months too? Moreover, my police certificate will expire by 20th of May, please will my Visa be ready by then should the DNA is OK? Will I still need the police certificate at Port of entery in U.S? Or police certificate is only needed on the day my Visa will be printed? Thanks for the love and concern that made you to always attend to us all time, so grateful ma.

To qualify for Returning Resident status, people have to show that their prolonged absence was involuntary and beyond their control. In general, we consider that everything that happens to a minor is involuntary and beyond the minor's control. So they wouldn't have to go through the full immigrant visa process again. Instead, they could apply for Returning Resident status, which is much quicker.

There are some exceptions -- recently we interviewed a young person who chose to return to college in Nigeria when technically still a minor, and didn't try to go back to the States for years. But that person had spent less than two weeks total in the U.S. several years ago, so it was hard to make the case that there was any residence to return to. Usually, with children / minors, we're quite lenient.

Hope this helps!
. Sure it really helps, thanks ma.

We give priority to spouses and children, fiance(e)s, and parents. The United States is one of the few countries that includes siblings among its immigration categories.
. God bless America for this. Good day ma, how was your weekend ma? Please my question is, let assume a Legal Permanent Resident, (Green Card Holder) of ages 5,6,7 and even 10, but not of full age (18 or 21) checked out of The United States for like 5 to 10 years and now wish to return to the States, will he need another immigrant processes to return or he can return as a returnee without new Visa ma? Thanks ma.

Very recently, I was watching an old American film, and the following conversation ensued between two characters, Man: Everybody has got a list of things to be grateful for each day of our lifes. Boy: Have got nothing to be grateful for. Man: You see, you have just got one, you are in Texas. I will like to relate that boy to everybody reading this thread, that you have got something to be grateful for reading this, some here has taught love, hope and kindness. All I have to say is, To those of us that has been denied by the system in our various countries, do not relent, our victory is around the corner, just a bit of patience and prayer, our stories will change for better. To the owner of this thread, like people will say ' The reward of the teacher is in heaven'. I pray God in heaven will reward you beyond your expectations, your have really taught lessons and touched lifes.

I'm afraid I'm not the person who e-mailed your stepmother. If she has deleted an e-mail from us, please have her check with LagosIV@state.gov to see if it can be retrieved.

Once you have submitted your DNA to the lab, we generally receive the results no more than a month later. If the DNA results are a match, we can proceed with your case without another interview. If they're a match and you're unable to travel before your medical paperwork expires in July, you will need to submit new medical paperwork. Thanks!
. Thank you so much you are blessed ma. merci like the French will say.

Good day ma, it seems my dad got his own, but has not had enough time to go through the DNA instructions. the one you sent to my stepmother was mistakenly deleted, could you please if possible send another e_mail to my stepmother today ma, and please if we start our DNA test by next month due to money constraints, from your experience, what month can we be through with it and are we still going to be scheduled for another interview or the last interview is intact and hope our medical will still be valid till then? Thanks ma.

I didn't think you were rude at all! You have been perfectly lovely since I first "met" you on Nairaland.

I do need to warn you that "continue with your case" means that the officer is going to review it again in light of the information that came up in the IR-1 case. We do need to be sure that you have the relationship with the petitioner that you claim to have. If you do, there's no need to worry, though.

Since you're asking in public, and since this might be useful for other readers: The issue is that she refused to acknowledge that she had ever applied for a visa in the past and that she had used a different name and date of birth. But I was looking right at her photo and fingerprints when she told me this. If she applies for a waiver, but tries to tell USCIS that it's all a mistake and she never applied for a visa before, they're not likely to approve her application because it is absolutely clear that she did indeed apply for a visa using a different identity in the past. Thus it is absolutely in her best interest to be forthcoming about this, rather than to continue to deny that she ever applied before.

It's simply not credible that someone else has the exact same fingerprints that would lead to a photo that looks just like "my" applicant, who has an incredibly similar name, and whose birthday is exactly the same except that the year is slightly different. Being told in the face of all that evidence that she had never applied for a visa before did make me somewhat cranky here on Nairaland, for which I sincerely apologize.
. Thanks ma, seems you have gotten her mail has she claimed to have, and on the issue of reviewing our relationship with the petitioner is never a problem, because we are talking of our biological father here. On the issue of my stepmother, I will do all within my capacity to make her be forthcoming ma, Please with the said review, when will the Visas be ready ma?

If your family would like to continue with the IR-2 cases, please let us know at LagosIV@state.gov.

Waiver applications take several months to be reviewed. If your stepmother's waiver is granted, we will continue with the case she has now. Please remind her that if she is forthcoming with information her application is more likely to be granted. (Waivers are not automatic.)
. Thank you so much ma, am grateful for your help and info, she told me she has sent a mail to you to go on with our cases, and please like what are those information she needs to come up with ma, thanks so much, and I will like to make it clear that I never meant to be rude to you in any way like someone was insinuating in the other thread ma.

I equally thought you were all denied, apparently if i'll quote you it means you have been exonerated and your step mother is left in the whole charade right?
. Yes, but we are thinking of waiting for her if the issue won't take time, which is why I want to know the time frame for such issue to be cleared, because her four years old baby is also freed, and the mother will like to travel with her kid, though my dad has said he will mail them to go on with our Visas, am delaying his decision, just to find out how long it takes, Thanks for your concern and care for all here.

Lol. Ist of all, I go give caveat this is the ist time I heard about the waiver form so I did some look sees/research
Ist, her matter is a migration matter
2nd, her questions have been answered indept by the other thread (VO)
However to advice u from a legal point of view. Your step mom lied in her application. All of you guys aPplied as a family. It is assumed that you guys colluded, hence the all round denial.
However, because assumptions are not fool proof or without a shadow of doubt, you have been given a chance to defend your self , that is the Application for a waiver of Ground of inadmissibility form 160-1. As the name implies, you would have been admissible but for a ground that disqualified you- In this case, your step mom's deceit.
You have to present your case and sHow why the grounds of inaddmissibility should be waived. Only the VO has the final say and all you have to do is wait and pray whilst your step mum sorts her own gbese. (Classic Definition of pouring sand sand into another person garri! Lol)

NB: I find Your tone (telling the VO 'don't get it twisted) quite rude. This is a person who has given u advice and you are still asking for more. If I were him/her I wouldn't answer you. Tone it down and be humble on a public forum. You are not 'entitled' to help.
Cheers
. Thanks so much for your correction, but to be frank, I have not insulted or disrespect her in any form, if you have the time, go to her page and see how have always appreciated her and I still do till now, in short I never meant to be rude to such a kind person and it has been made clear my step mother is the only one been denied and not all of us, you also mentioned we colluded with her which is not. Please just advice or time frame expectations for the problem to be over, thanks once more.

Isn't the real question Why did she use a different name and date of birth in the past? -- which is related to How are we supposed to know who she actually is? and also So she now admits she was here before? That's interesting.

(Going back to my own thread now.)
. Please ma, don't get it twisted, I have just stated the reasons she was denied ma, that shows acceptance on the part of the family, though I did not know what she said at the Embassy, all I seek is the way out and how long does it take to be waived, your kind gesture all these while is always appreciated ma, please kindly advice us on what to do.

You know, your petition is separate from your stepmother's. Your case and your sibling's are pending a decision from your family as to whether you'd like to travel now or wait for your stepmother to figure out what she's going to do with her case. Now that she's been informed and had a chance to explain her side of the story, if you'd like to discuss the cases further, please e-mail us at LagosIV@state.gov.
. Thanks, please how long will it take for my case and sister's case to be completed after we might have requested you to continue with them? And please how long does it take before my stepmother's case can be waived and revisited, will she use the same case after the waiver has been granted, or she will apply for new one, please how long
does all of these take should in case we want to wait for her?

eeyyaa i'm so sorry about this, please if you don't mind could you give a deeper insight into the situation so everyone here can know what advice to give you.
. Thanks, the issue is, she has appeared at the embassy before which she did not indicate in her new application, she was shown her picture, finger print, date of birth she used then and the name she used then, but she as been given a waiver form and have been made clear that it does not affect my sibling and I, we can mail them to further process the other cases if we like or wait for her. My question now is how along does the waiver issue takes, and will she have to apply for another application or this present case will be issued the Visa?
