Lanretoye: as much as i love the spirit of the Nigerians on onboard,i am not in support if he doesn't have genuine immigration documents... any act that contravenes the law is criminal, truth be told. But not when humans are chained like dogs. That's very inhuman. Some whites can be animalistically mean. |

Nairaland General › Re: Buy Naija! by Bukunming(op): 6:39am On Apr 03, 2017 |
subtlemee: Don't blame us OP we are usually sure of what we buy if it's genuinely foreign or imported...our igbo brothers should produce these things as Nigerian made goods and also invest in quality and standard not quantity as most of our goods do not last due to poor quality and they know this, so to boost customer's confidence they clone things substandardly then put made in Italy to boost our confidence which degrades them the more Hmmmmmmm... You have a point there. |
Nairaland General › Buy Naija! by Bukunming(op): 7:16pm On Apr 02, 2017 |
I so many times hear this expression, 'these Igbo people sef...' and I was a culprit myself. I had to stop saying this when I realized the need for Nigeria to becoming a producing nation herself. Instead of condemning their effort, why not give them some appraisal for even attempting to produce the 'photocopy of the original' which in a way happens to be our version of made in Nigeria products? We have been extremely intoxicated with imported commodities which has made us ignore the fact that we should be producing ours so that they could be imported commodities for other nations as well. Little wonder we are called a 'consumer nation'. We say, 'if it is not imported, it is not original' and we say, 'the commodities produced in Nigeria are fake'. Several countries produce their commodities then bring them into our country (making us dumping ground for all sorts). Whereas, the citizens of such nations buy their product, thereby growing their currency, and they don't refer to it as fake just because it is being produced in their country, that is something to emulate. Although, the contribution of the government towards products made in Nigeria cannot be overlooked but we must first change our mindset and orientaton about the locally made products for better. We should start patronizing goods and services produced in our dear country. It doesn't have to be sudden, it is a gradual process. By so doing, we are encouraging our local manufacturers, and they in turn will improve the quality of what they produce to standard. Then, they can begin to export their products to other nations if they have not been doing so. |
