A release by the Federal Polytechnic Offa Bursar on April trial payroll revealed that the following adjustment has been made to the April salary yet to be paid but already reflected in the April Trial Payroll.

The information read in part “Peculiar allowance of 7% for academic and 5% for non-academic staff has been restored” adding that “the 4% and 3.5% shortfall in March peculiar allowance of academic and non-adademic staff was included in the April Payroll”. The Bursar concluded that the staff with wrong/invalid bank account numbers were rectified.

Information on payment of the April salary was however confirmed from a credible source by union members of federal colleges of education circulated to members, which read as follows:-

Good morning esteemed Congress members. It is my pleasure to give this update on April salary. 

2. My interaction with the Director, IPPIS this morning on the delay of April salary indicates that the salary will be paid by the end of this week. 

3. That the delay was caused by President's directive that ASUU members be paid their withheld salaries. 

4. That errors committed on February and March salaries would be corrected on April salary especially under and over payments. Hence, the caution for minimum error free. 

5. That all deductions done but not remitted would be released this month particularly cooperative deductions and bank loans which have been prepared and sent by Bursars. Hence the need for proper verification to avoid mistakes. 

6. That all Federal workers either captured or not would be paid directly by ippis including ASUU members this month. Hence, the delay. 

7. That unions should negotiate with their respective state governments on tax and forward the MOU to ippis. 

The information from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) revealed that the delayed in April salary to federal tertiary institutions workers was a result of systemic problem which has been resolved. The message circulated by union leader to the Federal Colleges of Education in the country read in part “we found out from the IPPIS office that there was a systemic problem which affected the payment of April Salary in our sector”.

It would be recalled that federal government mandated all ministries, departments and agencies to enroll it staffs on IPPIS to enable a seamless payment of salaries from the central with a view to reducing leakages in public offices and reducing recurrent expenditure knowing that scores of ghost workers are in the civil service scheme. This platform has been able to identify ghost workers since it began operation. The statement concluded that “this has been resolved now, and we should expect payment this week”.

Federal tertiary institutions workers by this circular should expect payment of their [b]April salary this week[/b]using the Integrated Payroll and Information System (IPPIS) platform.

I think it has much to do with the various issues and complaints arising from payment of February and March salaries. I believe they are trying to resolve the problems

Gross inefficiency that's all. It would make more sense to say they have a few staff on ground due to covid-19. Complaints although specific are general since they use templates. So a change in the formula should resolve any issues.

This platform is just the best for the purpose it was created. Moving to WhatsApp or Telegram would mean no anonymity and I fear personal space maybe encroached upon. Anyways each one to their own.

Just an avenue for millions of Naira to be released and siphoned. The best we would get would be handouts and voice notes shared over WhatsApp or Telegram and Jamb administering the exam.

Please just be patient with me. Omo I really need my pay slip o. For those in the system already, after deducting my pension and tax amounts, I had an amount which I call allowances of #7720. Is it normal?

If you have heard something, the onus is on you to ask for proof or verify from the person you heard or overheard it from.

Please how about Fed. College of education staff? Will they be paid through IPPIS?

But she said everything is still inconclusive.. That they is confusion.. It is being politically motivated.. The high and mighty are trying to infiltrate the EH category and the NNPC hierarchy has decided to dodge the bullets by doing an Internal placing (don't know what dat means). But that is what has been communicated to the big men, to see if they would relax on on the pressure, it's kind of a threat to see if they would give them (nnpc) some breathing space..

This independent source from Jarus' source gives me an idea of what trouble could also have started at the towers by Jarus sharing thatinfo. NNPC were perhaps telling the politicians that EH would be scrapped, and the release of APL only for GT category would have reinforced their ruse, thereby making the politicians believe that EH was cancelled. So for a blog to assert that APL would be released within a time frame and only a certain category first, the other later, and the first two parts happening as the blog asserts, would expose NNPC's ruse. Hence the need to "deaccuratify" the info.

My thoughts.

Someone once said to be considered rich by Forbes, you must be worth 350 million Naira. That's just a million dollars. Makes me question the claim. But it makes sense. You get 50 million for account no make you rich man. You are better off than many, but you are not rich.

The Corporation would've captured New Staff Training and all the allowances in the 2020 budget. Most importantly, the rejigging currently going on in the CHQ and some subsidiaries will allow for proper placement of staff and postings.

However, lets remain prayerful, lots happening underground. But, hopefully rational reasoning will prevail.

I will like to employ everyone of us to please remain focus in the pursuit of other opportunities while we retain hope of a favorable conclusion to this recruitment in earnest. That way we can avoid any shock from the outcome of the process.

It is disheartening to see posts in here from some of us indicating that we are becoming lethargic in the pursuit of other opportunities, and even in our current workplace due to high expectation on the outcome of this recruitment. Let not forget this is a government recruitment which isn't immune to corruption and nepotism. For those that are delaying making some decision as a result of the wait for the outcome of this process, please be guided and ensure the best decision is taking, remember a bird in hand is better than thousands in the bush.

Our prayer at this point should be that when ever the recruitment is going to be concluded, whether this year or next, may God make it the best time for everybody and may he keep us alive in good health and bless our path (Ameen)
