****Care for the living****
It is said that "we never know the worth of water till the well is dry" people most times do not value what they have until they have lost it then they come to realize the value of that thing.
In the same vein people tend to value or care more for someone when S/he is dead than when they are alive.

Its now a common trend for people in almost every society to showcase or display their wealth under the guise of giving a "befitting" burial to the dead who why they were living they weren't appreciated nor cared for. In most families when a family member is sick or in a condition that needs attention, S/he will be ignored but the moment they drop dead the same people who ignored him will gather for meeting immediately they will set up a burial committee and start planning the number of cows that will be slaughtered, the best undertakers to hire and the likes.

We may feel we don't have time for ourselves or for our own spouse/kids, and here is my father/mother/
elder brother/sister. we expect others to keep our request, and feel if they refuse that we've done so much for him/her, then why is s/he behaving like this? So, expectations from both sides are there, our guilt at not being able to handle a situation or person makes us aggressive too. And everyone has an ego, and the older you get, the more fragile you become, the more baggage you carry; we think we are someone to reckon with whereas, we are actually no big deal!

If we've behaved badly with someone, we should ideally apologize and make amends
immediately (or as soon as we realize our mistake), as it could well be the last time that we are seeing that person. And living with regrets of this sort is very tough. We may not have meant it, but we did, and that's the end of the story. Keeping the lines of communication open is essential; little misunderstandings can be sorted out and not allowed to grow. On one hand, life is too short and on the other, life is too long.

After a person's death, we tend to remember only the good things and are remorseful about it but by then it's too late. So, it's always better to be careful of what we think, say and do. And, sometimes, even if we are misunderstood, it won't do much damage to say sorry, especially if we are responding to our parents who have done a lot for us; or a sibling who has gone out his/her way to save us when we were kids.

In our societies too there are people who in one way or another are contributing positively to the society either through humanitarian service, volunteer counsellors, motivators and the likes, but we find out that these people are been ignored in our society, no one care to appreciate their efforts, not that people do not see or are not aware of their activities but they never deem it fit to appreciate them and the moment they drop dead you will realize that almost the whole society are aware of them but never cared. They will write eulogies and testify of their goods works too. The social media is not left out, pictures of them and eulogies will flood the net. These are people who were never appreciated during their life time.
We must not fail to understand that we are social creatures and at such we must work together and care for each other while we are still living.
