Ghanaian actor, Yaw Adu has questioned why actresses always refuse to kiss him even when Directors tell them to do so in movies.

He revealed in a recent interview that when he had the opportunity to kiss an actress in a movie, she turned him down when the scene got to that part.

“The only actress I have kissed wasn’t a star but I later had an opportunity to kiss Vivian Jill in a movie, which she needed a child and I had to sleep with her for her to conceive but she later turned me down and dodged me when I tried kissing her.

“I did not ask her why she dodged me because I didn’t believe in myself either.

Monaco star Thomas Lemar will be on his way to Atletico Madrid after the 2018 World Cup - The Spanish club have confirmed the development on their social media page - Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 22-year-old Frenchman Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have confirmed that they have reached an agreement to sign Frenchman Thomas Lemar who currently plays for Monaco. Reggae icon, RasKimono, is dead.

The legendary singer, whose real name was Ukeleke Onwubuya, died today in Lagos. It was gathered that he was to travel to United States last night, but he complained of not feeling too well. He was rushed to a hospital in Ikeja, then later taken to Lagoon Hospital, before eventually giving up the ghost.



In a recent chat with PUNCH, the reggae star said, he had been a vegetarian for over 37 years and neither smoked nor drunk alcohol.

He said, “I have never smoked and I don’t drink alcohol. I tell people I have been a vegetarian for 37 years. Even when my friends were having sex with two girls at the same time in those days, I didn’t join them. I have never done what these girls and boys call party despite being famous and I am sure there are other people who have never done that too.

“When people attribute recklessness to youthful exuberance, I get worried because I once passed through that stage too. I believe it is all about your upbringing. The fact that you are young doesn’t mean you should be wayward.”

A man has committed suicide by throwing himself off the roof of the Grand Mosque in Islam’s holiest city of Mecca, Saudi police said on Saturday.

“A foreigner threw himself from the roof of the Grand Mosque in Mecca” to the courtyard below, “resulting in his instant death”, state news agency SPA said, quoting police.

The rare act was not the first of its kind to take place in Mecca, the holiest city in Islam — which, like other monotheistic religions, prohibits suicide.

The body was transported to hospital, with an investigation underway “to determine the victim’s identity, what led to the act and how he was able to commit it despite the existence of a metal fence”, SPA said.

Last year, a Saudi man tried to set himself on fire in front of the Kaaba — the square stone building in the centre of the mosque compound — but was stopped by security forces.

Every year, millions of Muslim pilgrims from across the world travel to Mecca and Medina, Islam’s second holiest site, also in western Saudi Arabia.

The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled in favour of Chairman of Innoson Motors, Innocent Chukwuma, in his case with Guaranty Trust Bank.

According to a statement released on Thursday by Cornel Osigwe, Innoson Group’s head of corporate communications, the supreme court struck out the motion for stay of execution of the Enugu court of appeal order that GT Bank pays N6 billion into an interest yielding account.

Concise News gathered that the Supreme Court decision follows GTBank’s decision to file a motion for stay of execution at the Supreme Court after the Court of Appeal Enugu Division ruled on 9th Dec, 2014 that the appellant (GTB) pay the sum of five billion, nine hundred and thirty six million, one hundred and twenty six thousand, two hundred and nineteen naira, one kobo (N5,936,126,219.01k) to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Court within 14 days from the date of ruling and which the Deputy Chief Registrar shall pay same into an interest yielding account in a reputable bank other than Diamond Bank or Mainstreet Bank Plc pending the determination of this appeal.

The appeal court had ordered that the money, together with whatever accrues thereon, shall be paid to the party who wins the appeal.

GTBank, not satisfied with the decision of the ruling of Court of Appeal, thereafter filed a motion for stay of execution at the Supreme Court.

Today Thursday, the Supreme Court struck out GTB’s motion for stay of execution and maintained that it will not hear GTBank’s motion for stay of execution until it obeys the ruling of Court of Appeal to pay the said money into an interest yielding account.

It was gathered that Innoson’s legal team which was led by Prof McCarthy Mbadugha ESQ told the Supreme Court that the debt which arose from excess and unlawful charges which GTBank took from Innoson’s account now stood at over N14billion, an amount which the Supreme court ordered GTB to pay back to Innoson within two weeks.

A video shared online shows a man in flames running around a mall and online reports claimed the fire was caused by a mobile phone which exploded in his pocket.
There are conflicting reports, however. Some say it happened in Dubai Mall on June 4, others say it took place in the city of Agadir in Morocco on June 3.
On its official Twitter account, the Dubai Civil Defence explained that the fire was caused due to a faulty mobile phone that exploded in the victim’s pocket. However, they stated that the incident did not take place anywhere in the UAE.
According to Moroccan news site Agadir24, the man who went up in flames is a 30-year-old criminal and the incident happened at the entrance of the Marjane supermarket in Morocco on June 3rd.

In a recent post shared on Twitter by Arthur Musinguzi, the cells in Norway are a home away from home setting and anyone who lands there having lived in some areas in Nigeria will be more grateful than sad. Arthur shared photos of the prison where anyone can see that prisons truly live like kings because of the impeccable furnishing. The photos immediately went viral and many Nigerian social media users agreed that the cells look even better than their houses.
Worthy of not, however, is Norway has the fourth-highest per capita income in the world on the World Bank and IMF lists. It is also the first on the World Happiness report and interestingly, has one of the lowest crime rates in the world.

Report reaching Cross River Daily says, yesterday, a group of unidentified robbers made their way to the University of Calabar official car pack, the Hogan Bassey Ultra-modern Park and vandalized a car belonging to one of the staff while doing-away with about N500,000 from the vehicle.

The car, our reporter said belongs to one Mr. Emmanuel Bassey who works in the Office of the school’s Dean of Students’ Affairs as Desk Officer.

According to our reporter, it remained unknown to viewers at the scene how a gang of robbers can comfortably drive into the school community with two Jeeps and carry out such devilish activity without the school security apprending them.

“With only one entrance leading in and out of the park and a security station at the gate, it is indeed a question begging desperate answer how something like this could happen in broad daylight,” one of the viewers at the scene wonders.

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced they have reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Brazil international Fred.

A statement on United's website read: :"Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos (Fred).

At least five lives have so far been lost in what CrossRiverDaily understands to be a resumption of the famous cult rivalry in Calabar, the state capital.

Super Eagles players have been assigned squad numbers ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr on Sunday, June 3 dropped Ola Aina and Mikel Agu as he released his final 23-man list for the summer tournament in Russia.

The 23 players selected for the tournament have been appointed their numbers for the World Cup with some major changes to their previous appearance.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) official Instagram account posted a short video clip of the players new numbers for the tournament.
Major changes involve Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi who was handed the legendary number four shirt worn by Kanu Nwankwo and was previously worn by Kenneth Omeruo who was given the number 22 shirt.

Left back Brian Idowu takes the number two shirt which all but confirms his position as the first choice in his position, while Ogehnekaro Etebo was handed the number eight shirt.

The Super Eagles are currently in Austria preparing for the World Cup and the new numbers will be worn by the players when they take on the Czech republic in their last international friendly before the tournament on Wednesday, June 6.
