wunmi590:The thing is, I need solid experience in this field I love, in a matter of 2-3 years, I won't be the same. It is a promising career that has worked (and working) for many seniors before me. I'm thinking about the long term. I also think the current bills are not as plenty as they would be in 3-5 years from now. |

sonofthunder:Thank you very much.. My colleagues are great. The issue is the work itself. I do not want a career that limits me to one industry (especially when there are only two major players alot of the professionals here aim to work at). I do not plan to resign, I'm just concerned if it wise to take a lower pay (in the event I secure one) to actually do what I love especially when it offers diverse career paths. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Passion Over Paycheck: Is It Worth Taking A Lower-paying Job To Do What I Love by BunbleBee: 5:57pm On Oct 17, 2023 |
I currently work in a top firm in the industry as a young graduate and fairly compensated but I seriously do not like the team I'm assigned to. My team members are great but I do not see myself doing what we do in team in many years to come. Additionally, what the team does limits me to this same thing within the industry and the number of opportunities as a whole. The tasks are repetitive and not as technical like I would love. This demotivates me and does not make me actively develop myself in this field. I do not find joy in it. I have tried many times to switch teams but that did not work out for me. I work with members from the team I would like to join and I always wished I was in that team. I'm determined to change this as early as possible as I believe this is the best time to take risk. I have decided that if I can't switch to my dream team, then I would have to find this dream in another firm (most likely smaller with lesser prestige but with opportunity to learn valuable skills). However, I am confused on if this is a wise decision. I need your advice on this drastic decision I need to take. Thank you all 2 Likes |

If you are working at Ikoyi, never you think of getting an apartment at Ajah talk more of places like Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki. You'll get frustrated and mad so fast, you might lose your sanity. Like lot of people mentioned up there, your best bet is Mainland, places around Ebutte Metta, Yaba, Constain, Oyingbo, Onike. Or Lagos Island places like Adeniji, Tinubu Campus, Bamgbose, CMS. You can check use this website - nigeriapropertycentre (dot) com - to get an idea of the kind of houses and cost. Lastly budget 700k for a selfcon of 450k. 1 Like |

Romance / Can We Really Do What We Like With Our Lives? by BunbleBee: 7:05am On Jun 18, 2022 |
I have heard people saying the following statement too many times, especially when they're been admonished: "It's my life, I can live it the way I like or do whatever I like with it" Is this true? Can we really do whatever we like with our lives? How will society look like when everyone does whatever they like because 'it's their lives' ? cc: lalasticlala, Seun, Rocktation

Romance / Re: I'm an introvert(a strict one) by BunbleBee: 11:23am On Mar 19, 2022 |
Truvelisback:That's extreme and it's bad. Too much is bad. A time will come when you'll have to open up. No one person can do it alone in life. You'll have to start mingling and relating with people. If you work in an office, you will have relate wit your colleagues and managers. If you own a business, you'll have to interact , mingle with your customers and promote your business (except you don't want to make money). See ehn, I am an introvert too and the only upside is, it's helps you mind your business and stay out of trouble. Other than that, you have alot to lose as an [b]extreme[\b] introvert. I have lost out on life-changing opportunities just because "I loved my space" & couldn't network with people that matter. Though, I have worked (and still working) on it and yes I'm doing fine at my job. Now, If I'm alone, I'm fine. If I'm in a gathering of people discussing, I'm still fine. So start working on it. You can't help yourself alone in this world. Heavens help people through other people. So loosen up and learn to mingle and socialize( not everybody oo). 1 Like |
Family / Re: Introverts Lounge (Extroverts Pls Keep Off !!) by BunbleBee: 1:03pm On Mar 13, 2022 |
Too much of introversion is bad, especially when it comes with lack of social skills like networking and public speaking. I'm an introvert: I can play and enjoy myself alone, always indoors, few friends and running away from the spotlight. I have lost out on lot of opportunities just because I couldn't stand up and utter two to three sentences. One of such is when we had a representatives of WHO visit my secondary school. An assembly of all students was held for them to address us. One of the representatives asked a question about hygene. The assembly was silent, I knew the answer but I was scared to speak up. So I told my classmate the answer, he gave the answer and guess what! He won a LAPTOP! I went home crying and thereafter made a conscious decision to develop myself. Today, I'm still introverted with more improved social skills. I can relate well with people, address a gathering without little or no fright. On the positive side, introversion has saved me from troubles and rejections. However, it encourages you to remain in your comfort zone which is bad for growth. 8 Likes |
Business / Re: Ruin By Online Loan App, Don't Know How To Break Free by BunbleBee: 5:09pm On Mar 12, 2022 |
emmyN:Thank you bro. These loan apps didn't force anyone of them to take loans. They have one accept their terms and conditions (which most won't read) before they payout any loan. So what's the fault of the loan guys? Honestly, an average Nigerian is the lite version of our politicians. 3 Likes |
