For medical professionals...
My ECA took almost 6months b4 it was ready. So u have to close your eyes with all the money involved and start asap if u want.
So I was able to submit the paper application dec 2014.
No hitch whatsoever till late last yr sep when MR request stopped. We hopefully believe it has resumed again and we will be sorted out soon.
A friend's sister have started their foreign medical training in the canada and the pay is good and its for 3-4yrs to be a family med practitioner. Some province like BC u will need just the 1st exam(mcce)plus ielts academic while Saskatchewan, manitoba need mccE and mccqe b4 one can start the training.
For EE...a friend (dr)got like 444 and age is 34 with good ielts score plus hubby's ielts. So even if ur hubby of 38yrs applies with clb of 9 in all...he shd score above 400 at least for ontario nomination.

Zaraman and Zandora,

Good morning.

The CD4 count for a healthy HIV negative person is between 500 - 1500. Some experts quote 500 - 1600. My wife's CD4 count is 516.
The point is that her immune system is as strong as a "normal" person living without the disease.

CD4 cells (often called T-cells or T-helper cells) are a type of white blood cells that play a major role in protecting your body from infection. They send signals to activate your body’s immune response when they detect “intruders,” like viruses or bacteria.

That was before she started the medication; which will suppress the virus from replicating. And in essence increase her CD4 count and viral load which will make her immune system even stronger. The viral load could even be undetectable and make transmission to another person or to a baby (if she gets pregnant) extremely rare.

Patients will CD4 counts less than 350 are the ones that get sick and become susceptible to "opportunistic diseases" which further damages their immune system and make things complicated. And hence increase the cost of medication etc. This happens when the infection is not detected early.

Based on my research and her CD4 count, she would live a "normal" life and will not even show any symptoms of the disease if she continue to take her medication. The cost will be the same and she would not need any hospitalization etc. What she would need will be two or three labs a year to check her CD4 count and viral load to ensure that the drugs are working.

If you are in Canada and you are reading this please help me check how much it will cost to do a lab to check CD4 count and Viral Load. I will need some email, phone numbers or web address as proof to build a convincing case.

Thank you.

@cd4 count...thats some good news and am happy u have accepted your responsibility.
Funny thing is that there are so many discordant couples living normal lives and if she doesnt have active TB,well I dont know y u want to exclude her although both go hand in hand.
First be very passionate about her health it will help to persuade the CIC and your physician that u can actually help her through it all even if you can afford it and with your case. Thus, she has to be consistent with the drugs and immune boosters at least for months till viral load is undetectable. Some drs may lay her off the drugs if her CD4 count is very high and viral load is undetectable. It depends on her physician.

So if she can achieve that and maintain it....she wont be a burden to the CA government.
So many non Nigerians living here have HIV and access our free drugs. The drugs are free for HIV and TB here.I think it is in most countries too.

Why did WES send your evaluation through regular post? Mine was brought to me at home by a UPS courier. And I sent my certificate and transcripts to them through registered NIPOST mail.

It was WES US because I didnt pay for courier.

yes i did sent my certificate also through nipost and it got there like 2weeks but i think it is not advisable to to use regular mail for delivery from wes, because the guys at nipost do take extra time to check parcel coming to nigeria dont know why but you cannot rule out the nigerian factor, thinking that somone most have hidden dollars inside the parcel so they dont want to miss out on any thing befoe delivery if not why the delay.nigerian things

True that! Wes sent my evaluation thru regular post and by the time I saw it in my box,it was already opened!!

Hi all, is there anyone who graduated from Ambrose Alli University (AAU) here. I will appreciate if you can guide me on how to follow up with AAU to respond to WES for the verification of the documents I sent to them. I paid for my WES Credential Evaluation since July, 2015 and the school has not gotten back to WES. Thanks

Its very simple dear!!Just get someone's no that works at exams and record and call him up.Plead with him to check their mail.U have to know the particular date cos you wont be the only one and for the job to be easy for him.U have to be open to his good suggestions too.Just a day or two and ur problem is solved.
Goodluck!!

Hi People,
Does Accra VO accept online payment of RPRF for FSW 2014? Saw a post that AVO doesn't accept online payment, only bank drafts or Certified cheques in Ghanian ,US or Canadian currencies https://www.nairaland.com/1279130/canadian-federal-skilled-worker-program-timelines/98
I received my PPR mail today and I'm thinking of paying online because banks no longer accept cash deposit of foreign currency and I won't be able to raise the draft

Hey Akogun007, thats an old post which was modified later as shown below. One can pay either with bank draft or online.

Hello guys, pls help me out, my wife applied to WES Canada to have her credentials evaluated. She logged into her account to check her status and it showed 'waiting for verification from institution'. Upon calling her school to confirm if they have received it they confirmed that it has come and that they need money from her to send the document back. They started quoting different amount for DHL, FedEx and normal courier. Pls I want to know if this is right or its just one non-academic staff trying his luck. I'll really appreciate answers. Thanks

Hi,mockingjay...I dont know about WES Canada but when I used WES US,the only issue I had was locating the office where the ?letter was and someone taking out time to check their mails.I think it was sent thru email because they only asked me to send 1k recharge card for the call and by the next day,I got an email its been verified by school. Most schools communicate with these bodies electronically and OAU definitely should be among.

But,I had to pay for paper verification of my cert/transcript when sent by ECFMG,who didnt have electronic web transfer portal with my school.I paid for Fedex + school fee of 7k(bank draft).

Hey,
I don't think I wanna open this forum and we are not adding value to people but jabbing them in almost 2+ pages discussing same thing.
Am sure, the guy won't try to help anytime soon.
And that will limit how people want to contribute here or go an extra mile.
Let's move forward. It doesn't have to go past 1 comment.
There is a rule as regards this and we shouldn't take advantage of the absence of the admin here.

On your travel update, you don't need to inform them.
On the Surname issue, from my conclusion,it seems your former surname and new surname are all contained on the generic form...
If this is so,no issues regarding it....these are not the type of issues that results in denial of application.
I wouldn't mind if you explain better your usage of your new and old surname in your application.
I want to be sure you have included a document that showed the change of name from old to new....
Does the documents you used contained the old or new surname?
Which of it was used on your birth certificate?
For myself,my surname is a shortened form of my surname...but the shortened form of my surname reflected on all my official documents and my birth certificate despite filling parents's name and siblings with my original surname....and there was no issue......so are you in the same scenario?....if yes,you are cool.If no,explain better.
Not that the issue is a serious one, just want to be sure of how you used the names in your application so that we can be sure of raising a CSE or not.
Don't also forget that, most applicants will be asked to update some forms especially during medicals.
Cheers.

Thanks for your kind reply.U and ur crew are doing a great job here.

Let's assume A is the old surname and B is the new.And they are totally different not a shortened form.

All my documents and application is in A.The only place B appeared is in generic form where they asked a name one has used before.I had to cancel it at last minute because I have never used B for anything before but the Barcode page didn't change and I had to submit it like that because I would have missed the deadline.
Meanwhile,my birth certificate reads A for me and my parents but in the application their name has B.
I didn't include any name change document because technically am not known or have ever used it.

Hi people,

Am FSW 2014 applicant.Application received on 29th.

Our family name was changed a lot time ago but I never used it .Not in my documents at all but my brothers and parents use it.During my application,I included the surname in my generic form only to be advised not to because the question asked of a name you have ever used.I changed it on the day of submission only to find out when I got home from the duplicate copy that the Barcode pages didn't change when I scanned it.Actually contained the name.

Please,I have two questions. ..

Is it necessary to raise a CSE about it since my birth certificate bears my parents names with the old surname but I used their new surname for the application.

2ndly, should I update them about a new travel.

Thanks. Would love to hear expert advices.
