Any keen observer knew that he was already nailing his own coffin.

All those working behind the scenes to see to a political settlement of the case became disappointed and therefore decided to let him carry his cross all by himself.

Even the prospect of invading the Correctional Centre where he was to serve his jail time was preemptively moved to faraway Sokoto beyond the reach of his ESN.

Instead of applying discretion, he chose unmindful bravado.

Even now, the FGN may wish to grant him a presidential pardon but must be conditional and with an obvious sign of remorse.

MNK's pigheadedness got him to his present predicament.
