You grew up in a christain home and got apathetic to the whole thing before coming back?! "I was an atheist" - certainly not an apatheist, you were a xtain but life's circumstances made you disillusioned with your beliefs so much so you hate the concept of god?! "I was an atheist" - certainly not a misotheist. So an "atheist" wakes up one morning and decides to "pretend to believe in a god" - what does that even mean?

Pretend to believe in which of the gods - why not ishtar or Vishnu? Did he throw a dart to pick one at random to play pretend or did he pick one of the dominant ones from his geographical location which just happened to be real after playing "pretend". No tangible evidence convinced said "atheist" of this particular god, save for nictotine addiction. Which he claimed was suddenly gone yet he had withdrawal effects with nightmares - Yhwh sent you nightmares to show he's real? Lol

Was already reading the bible for 3 months prior to playing pretend to believe in the god of the bible and just covieneintly had to record the process for social media. Had already chosen a god out of the many before playing pretend yet was an "atheist" - why not the Quran or Baghavad Gita. Then the most explicable thing it did to him that gave him evidence to convert was that it made him "kinder to strangers". There's a reason stuff like this is popular with a certain kind of people.

I have always wondered what these ‘African’ norms are. First of all there are no African norms. They are Nigerian or Togolese or Ghanaian or Tunisian norms. Africa is not homogeneous to talk of a universal norm. Secondly, these norms that have been diluted by the West itself. Homophobia came from Victorian norms. Our Criminal Codes were written by Lord Macaulay and foreign pens. Also Christianity is a major factor in how we Africans perceive these trends.

I’m more interested in discovering our attitudes to these eccentricities. We should be able to accept nuances.
