Ofunaofu: Don’t sit behind a keypad demanding pictures like you’re giving orders. If you’re so desperate, take yourself to the convention ground and verify it with your own eyes.
And as for Wike, tell him that after being expelled from the PDP and wandering around like an internally displaced Minister of the FCT, his best next move might be to finally seek refuge in the APC, the party he once described as afflicted with ‘stage-four cancer. This Ofunaofu always talking thrash, who expelled Nyesom Wike, even u yourself don’t believe the nonsense u wrote. By Tuesday you will be wailing Wike that we expelled wants to destroy us, please we need help o. |

Politics › Re: #IbadanConvention: PDP elects Turaki as new National Chairman, others by Burob: 10:10am On Nov 16, 2025 |
fergie001: The Lamido case is simple. He outlined that he has interests to contest for the Office of PDP National Chairman and alleges that the form was deliberately not sold to him. Like I have said many times, that is a Pre-election suit that is non-justicable.
Our Supreme Court has said it many times that political parties are voluntary organisations and it is outside of the Court's Jurisdiction to dabble into that. Been within the reach of the domestic affairs of a Political Party, the court is bereft of jurisdiction.
Justice Lifu knew what he was doing when he made that order, all they wanted was to ensure the National Convention did not hold. Every other thing becomes academic. The worst for them was for it not to hold. Now I hear people talk about INEC not attending hence it's nullity and I laugh.
Did INEC supervise the Primaries of Akpabio? Did INEC supervise the Primaries that affirmed Ahmad Lawan.
INEC decided to stay away citing Court Order. It is well within their rights. In each of the two judgements above, the Supreme Court was clear that it was the responsibility of the Party to inform INEC, whether INEC attends or not, it's their business, they must be informed, which they affirmed they were informed about it.
Section 82(1) of the Electoral Act 2022: Every registered political party shall give the Commission at least 21 days’ notice of any convention, congress, conference or meeting convened for the purpose of “merger” and electing members of its executive committees, other governing bodies or nominating candidates for any of the elective offices specified under this Act.
Section 82(5) of the Electoral Act 2022: Failure of a political party to notify the Commission as stated in subsection (1) shall render the convention, congress, conference or meeting invalid.
Hence, non-attendance does not connote a nullity, it is not notifying that does.
I will come to the Omotosho issue on another thread. To the best of my knowledge, NO.
The person I was replying was saying appointing a Caretaker Committee will have been better and I am saying, even in the appointment of the Caretaker, only a Convention will have affirmed it, meaning the Convention will eventually have held between now and December 6 this year. But what if the official person with the authority to inform INEC on behalf of the party about the purported convention said he wasn’t the one that issued the notice? |

People like you are online quoting laws and Constitution up and down while those in power do what they want. Ever wonder why Nigeria is referred to as a lawless society? Government routinely disobey court orders that don't suit them. So much for your Constitution and laws
Those lands belong to the retired and current high-ranking military officials. Wike cannot revoke that land. Even if he tries, only a slowpoke will accept the reallocation and try to develop it. The best he can do is quietly issue them the R of O. Tinubu is wise. Wike tried that nonsense with Mrs Rita Lori and got shut down. Go back to the video and listen carefully to Wike's phone call. Did you hear how he addressed the person on the other line? That should tell you all you need to know
Henceforth you will never hear about this matter again. It will be resolved quietly away from public curiosity. / Land was leased to Chief Ogbebor’s construction company in 1985 when his company was working in the construction of Abuja, madam Rita Lori due to her lack of knowledge believed the land is a freehold, government showed up after 40 years saying madam your lease done expire, she started crying in the press. Ogbebor’s friends heard her, appealed to the Honorable Minister to grant her another extension of the lease which he did under the powers he possesses under the land use act. Igno rants will just be celebrating in their ignorance, this case also is a very simple case, the admiral can use his military connections to help him appeal & apply to the governor (Minister in this instance) in the prescribed form to convert the certificate of occupancy from public purposes, to residential or commercial purposes, which the honorable minister can do within his powers. Yet nonsense noise cho cho cho people wey never buy 1 piece of land for their lives b4, & have no understanding of the provisions of the Land Use Act, na them go they shout pass. |

WizardOfNG: Unfortunately, you are talking to folks too sentimental, prejudiced and hateful of others to the extent their objectivity, and even commonsense one expects a bright child of ten to have, is totally compromised.
Wike is the mandated representative of the commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian armed forces, i.e Mr.President, who is the boss of the CDS who turned this uneducated Yerima into a glorified maigaurd.
Wike therefore has the express and official permission of Mr.Presidwnt to enter that the premise and do his job.
By denying Wike access, the ignorant and unprofessional Yerima has disrespected the authority and power of Mr.President who is the boss of whoever told him to do maigaurd over a private plot of land and reject access to the Minister of the FCT.
I don't get how Nigerian adults cannot understand it is never healthy to be prejudiced, sentimental and hateful of others to the extent one's reasoning and basic appreciation of right and wrong is hideously compromised. Don’t mind them, this Nairaland is full of toxic minded people, a reflection of the general society @ large. And the irony is that the land in question is government land that was leased to the initial company that sold the land to the Admiral, not a family owned land. Government that leased the land has said the land in question is for public purposes, not private use for commercial or residential purposes, yet some people in their ignorance of the provisions of The Land Use Act are supporting the military man just because of their hatred for Wike. An issue the admiral can never prevail in. |
