For some reason, Jonathan allowed Obi to join the PDP after Obi finished his dissatrous supreme court double term adminstration.

GEJ will later make another grave mistake of appointing Obi as his SE Campaign director in the 2015 elections.

This did not go down well with the longstanding and senior PDP members in the SE.

Over #200bn was allotted to Peter Obi as SE campaign director to which Obi refused to disburse funds on time and when he did , it was a far cry from what was budgeted for every ward. Obi pocketed the rest.

This led to SE PDP not mobilising enough for the party and the outcome of this was the dissatrously low turnout and voter apathy we witnessed from the SE.

Fast forward to 2019, Obi was nominated as running mate by Atiku. The PDP SE never forgot nor forgave Obi and they resumed their lack luster support for Atiku. The zone did not record as much turnout as that of 2015.

Now fast forward to 2023 and we saw how Obi left PDP and dragged SE votes in a record turnout. Even in the middlebelt where Obi did miracously well, it was Atiku's votes that INEC gave to Obi.

The PDP should make it a cornerstone never to allow Peter Obi to ever return to their party.
