More photos of Congolese T-55s. Probably the most easiest vehicle to find next to Toyota Land Cruisers. A lot of them were deployed against M23 rebels and a few were even captured. Later on most, if not all, were destroyed by FARDC. They continue to be used, but in more limited scale.

GeneralFarouq:
Apparently Ukraine tried to recover snake island, they lost 8 TB2 drones.
https://www.rt.com/russia/555209-snake-island-battle-details/
Does anyone seriously believe this? Why would Ukraine even need 8 TB-2s to cover the island when they were able to monitor the whole island and it's surroundings with just one or 2 of them in the past?

That helicopter was Ukrainian with Ukrainian paratroopers, not Russian. Even the landing spot clearly gave it away. Instead of using the existing helipad close to the buildings, the helicopter landed at the far end of the Island with an assault force. Too bad it got blown up.
If what Wagner says is true and they seriously were SOF trying to evacuate the island, then I can safely assume that Russians lost all communications with the island after the Su-27 bomb run destroyed most of the garrison on the island and likely killed some, if not all, stationed there. And that means Russians no longer had any idea who was in control of the island, therefore sending SOF to establish communications and control over the island. If they had no idea who controls the island, why land on helipad? It's completly predictable spot.

Anyway, the helicopter clearly wasn't Ukrainian, I sent a link to video that showed what the helicopter was. Even Wagner Telegram group admitted the helicopter was Mi-8AMTSh, version Ukraine doesn't operate, and remember this was before the video of the exact same helicopter flying near Crimea towards Snake Island surfaced on the internet. As of now there is no compelling evidence why the helicopter should be Ukrainian, on the other hand plenty to suggest it was Russian.

DRC governments have always been pre-occupied with personal survival, not national protection.
BTW, some arguments here aren't worth engaging.
In a few days of collecting images and reading some comments on DRC military, I also came to conclusion that army has been carrying most of the heavy fighting, and has to make wonders with some old T-55s, KrAZ-6322RA, PLDVK Ještěrkas and loads of Toyotas, while Republican guard mostly sits in their bases with all the good stuff the country just bought, not willing to give hand to help. Like seriously, I haven't yet seen a single T-72AV, T-64B1M... engaged in fighting. Something typical I have observed with authoritarian regimes, where Republican guards, or whatever they are called, get all of the new stuff while army relies on old and rusty equipment, because they are not trustworthy, so those Republican guards are used to suppress coups/opposition. Not saying DRC is authoritarian regime, just that it's a little bit suspicious.
Though, my view might be biased because A) Republican guard is very secretive and finding any pictures of their vehicles is hard, of soldiers not so much though B) I'm no expert and there is clear language/regional barrier and I lack the knowledge on the background of the country. Something I'm aware of and I have to study.

Anyway, I figured, but sometimes I'm very tempted to get drawn in these arguments since I see some commonly spread misconceptions/lies.
Pardon my terrible English

I have corrected my initial error, as the source I saw the dispute from now confirms it's was a Russian helicopter that was struck by a TB-2.
Huh? I'm not used to people admitting others are right, props to you, sir!

DRC 2S1 Gvozdikas - I wonder why I haven't seen any in action against rebels. Anyway, just like with most of the stuff DRC has, bought from Ukraine.

Infact the helicopter attack is even disputed, with reports claiming the Ukrainians struck their own MI-17 on Snake island.
This is not true at all, even Wagner himself admitted the Mi-8AMTSh was Russian and was destroyed by Ukrainian TB-2.
Why the hell would Ukrainians shoot down their own Mi-8 on island that was occupied by Russia?
Link: https://twitter.com/NotWoofers/status/1523265429531410432?s=20&t=_rUdwEvWRB5USQK6H_JZKA

There is even video of the Mi-8AMTSh flying to Snake Island: https://twitter.com/Caucasuswar/status/1523321956786917376?s=20&t=_rUdwEvWRB5USQK6H_JZKA

Besides, didn't Russia claim that Ukrainian Air Force was destroyed in the first days of war?
This is 2nd month into this war and yesterday I saw a ton of videos of Ukrainian jets and airplanes, but the helicopter on Snake Island clearly wasn't Ukrainian.

DRC PTS-M Amphibious transport vehicle - first time I see these in Africa (not counting Egypt that still has them and ZIPRA). Vehicles like this are, in my opinion, must have given that some African countries have a lot of very wide rivers and shortage of bridges that could very well be damage in operations/conflicts.

Is there any way how to search for pictures or certain key words on this forum? I don't want to go through every single page of all 2700 pages, specially when there is heated debate on every third page cheesy

Any photos of the 601st Special Forces Group ?...they trained our LRS guys.(Kenya Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) - LRS Operators. )
I'll look for some and ask around, but 601st is very secretive, since you know, they are SOF. Even we, Czechs, get to see them very rarely and our MOD rarely ever publishes any pictures of 601st to my knowledge. But I'll try my best

Ok, great!

Military equipment from the DRC is very difficult to find. Apart from Nigeria, Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, Tunisia, Morocco, maybe Kenya, it's difficult to get military photos of other African countries.

Military photos from the DRC is particularly difficult to find.
Yes, I know, it's similar case with Zimbabwe and Angola, maybe other countries too but I haven't yet been interested in them that much. I was able to find decent amount of Angolan military vehicles, but DRC and Zimbabwe are particularly difficult.

Anyway, that's the reason why I'm asking here, since there might be people who might have some interesting pictures I wasn't able to come across due to language and regional barrier.

Just asking for curiosity sake.
No, from Czech Republic, but I'm interested in armies from around the world. And Africa has some of the most interesting ones, though little is known about some.

I haven't seen any DR Congo pictures in this forum, so I'll share some from my folder of vehicle park. Here, Republican Guard T-72AV

If you have any pictures outside of parades, please share them, I'd be very grateful for them. Any pictures of DR Congo military vehicles are rare for me

You might think that ukrainians are great people to be with but they probably won't think the same of you. They are extremely racist
I'm sorry, but this is just bullsh*t. Ukrainians are not racist. I live in the middle of a Europe and I can definitely tell you that majority of people here are not at all hostile towards any other race or nationality if you adapt and respect our rules when you visit us or live here. Majority of people either ignore you, because we like to mind our own business, or are friendly. But you can find idiots everywhere. It's true we are reserved towards others, but there's plenty of reasons for this and that doesn't make us racist.

As for the war in Ukraine, look at 1938 Munich agreement and what followed. Allies abandoned Czechoslovakia and basically sold them for "peace". First Hitler wanted only a part of it claiming Czechoslovaks were abusing German minority in border regions. Western powers gave up the regions without Czechoslovakia having even any chance to vote about it's own territory. Then Hitler came and captured the rest of the country. And with power appetite grows. The rest is history and I'm sure we all know how it ended up. Middle and Eastern Europe knows this story very well and we also have very bad experience with USSR. We simply don't want to repeat history again and NATO helps us prevent this from happening again. And Ukraine is sadly the Czechoslovakia of 1938 that didn't give up but instead chose to fight and we are all very grateful for it, supporting Ukraine and donating weapons, repairing their vehicles and accepting Ukrainian civilians running away from the war. Just because we have a peace here doesn't mean it will stay like this forever and only thanks to Ukraine the situation for us is as it is.
