@kwakudtraveller, Thank you bro, I completely agree with what you said, and I will work on it.
kwakudtraveller:

@businessnow: bro If you are going to go this route, just ensure you have been in the news in the last couple of years or less. And that you have industry people who can give you a letter of recommendation, like the C-suite level guys so either CEO's , Professors or heads of departments in tech or the field you are applying in even if it's research. Also make sure that when they google your name, that they can see a lot of meat, like speaking engagement and blog post, even if na twitter space you dey speak and flyer dey, run am, na something. You can start doing all these things now if you don't have them already and then you can apply some months or one year along the line so your profile go get weight, if you start now and you apply now, them go reject you based on say you do all these things to get the visa.

@semmyk, I know you always come through, and I'll also contact the Bincom Dev Center; thank you, bro.

semmyk:
Scanning through, you should, on face value, be a prime candidate for Global Talent Visa (Digital Technology)
Your solutions and/or products development in the last five years will be of importance though.
Alternatively, as last resort, explore the start-up visa route.
NB: this is totally different from scale up visa
NB: it is non renewable and doesn't count towards ILR
The Global Talent however counts towards ILR (3 or 5 yrs!!!) and you can even be an entrepreneur!!! (AKA self-employed)

You may want to engage the folks at Bincom. They are in the UK and 9ja. - https://blog.bincom.net/emigr8/
Incidentally, they just had an open session yester night.
https://mobile.twitter.com/BincomDevcenter/status/1615755685194498049
[Disclosure] I'm related to one of the founders.

[UPDATED]
Noticed Bigtt76 has already suggested Global Talent. Though still referred to as Global Tech talent visa, the current official reference is Global Talent Visa. You have the Digital Technology route (as suggested and applicable in your case). There are also the Academic/Researcher route (which I've posted on last year) and there's the Arts and Culture route (seemly not the option for you).
NB: the Entrepreneur visa route is closed to new applicant. However, you may want to explore the Innovator visa route (the successor to Entrepreneur visa)
So, if you've got £50k in the kitty, you're good to go for Innovator visa. You just need to come up with a biz idea and get endorsed.
PS: not sure. Alternatively , you might become a financial partner to your current UK collaborator as a full fledged Director in good standing.

@bigtt76, Thank you so much for your time. I will look at all the options mentioned so far, in particular the Global Tech Talent Visa.

bigtt76:
Entrepreneur visa appears to be close to what you should look at but you would need to have an investment of £50k on grand cheesy

Another option is the Global tech talent visa and company relocation visa (or something close to that)

Dear House Bosses and Elders:

Please give me your thoughts and suggestions on this.

In Nigeria, I own an ICT company that has been in operation for 15 years.

In 2010, my company formed a partnership with a UK-based ICT firm, and we served as their Nigerian representative until early 2022, when the contract was terminated (the UK company moved into oil and gas).

We completed transactions totaling more than 600,000 GBP over the course of our 12-year partnership; all transactions, including international bank transfers, are documented.

This UK company arranged my first UK trip in 2013 for business meetings and training, and I have visited the UK more than 12 times since then for business meetings, training, and vacations.

Prior to moving to the UK with my family last year on a Tier 4 student visa, my wife the ( student), I was on my second two-year visit visa.

My company formed a new partnership with another UK-based ICT firm late last year.

Here's my question: is there any other type of visa I can or am qualified for besides the PSW (through wife Tier 4) and Tier 2 visas?

Please amiable senior nairalander, I need your input on this.

At least 29 days notice but the longer, the better incase UKVI needs to investigate before approving. Link for more details: https://www.gov.uk/marriages-civil-partnerships/give-notice

@Semmyk Thank you so much for your input and clarification. I know you will always come good. And thank you all who have contributed.

I will take all your advice and contributions into consideration and do the right thing.

Thank you.

semmyk:
I think the response from @Lindakam is in order. Kindly pay close attention to the clarity by Mamatukwas and LagosismyHome. IMHO, bus ride is universal. I kind of tilt towards the COVID relief being universal as well: TheGuyfromHR might be of assistance regarding COVID.
In responding to (and refunding) the Council, kindly let them know that it has come to your attention that the relief/funds appears to be public funds in nature, as persons on immigration status that does not accord you the right of recourse to public fund, you are of the view that
- you might not be proper recepient of these alleviations, albeit goodwill
- you feel uncomfortable about them
- you had acted bona fide a priori until now ...
Nonetheless, you will appreciate any clarification from the Council.

PS: I recalled there was some conversation some pages back on certain Council provisions different in Scotland compare to England & Wales. The conversation was on Council housing. Maybe, I say maybe, there might be one of two differences with Scotland's School provisions as well!!!! Nonetheless, as stated by others, rather thread on the path of caution than #sorry!

Thank you so much @Mamatukwas, i will contact the council and asked them to stop future payment and surely will refund the money sent to my account and will try to get a receipt or anything of such for future refrence.

Thanks again.

Mamatukwas:

Free buss pass is fine. But the rest is public funds. Find a way to contact the council and stop payment. Refund the monies Sef if you can. To avoid stories that touch. That’s what I’d advice.

Thanks @Lindakam, please what about the free bus pass ? is that also public funds.
Lindakam:
It is

Public funds include a range of benefits that are given to people on a low income, as well as housing support. These are:

income-based jobseeker’s allowance
income support
child tax credit
working tax credit
a social fund payment
child benefit
housing benefit
council tax benefit
an allocation of local authority housing
local authority homelessness assistance

Greetings to everyone

My family and I moved to Scotland in January of this year. My wife is a student while I am the dependant.

Please, I need clarification on this.

I hope this is not accessing public funds, and if it is, how do we stop the payment and send the payment back?

We have 3 children, 1 in P7 and the other 2 in S1 and S4.

1. My children have been using the Scotland bus pass, which is free for children under 22 in Scotland.

Young Persons' Free Bus Travel Scheme

https://getyournec.scot/nec/

2. Before the end of the last school term, the head teacher of my children's school sent me a link if we needed free school clothing and free meals for the children for the new term.

which I filled in. The link was under the council website.

Free School Meals and Clothing Grant

https://www.falkirk.gov.uk/services/schools-education/education-benefits-support/free-school-meals-clothing-grants/

Fast forward to August, when they resume the new term, and the sum of £120, £150, and £150, totalling £420, was sent to my account by the council for the free school clothing I applied for .

These two have been bothering me for a while. I hope this is not a long throat.

Now, today I received another £495 from the Council and an email to that effect.

They said the payment is for PAYMENT NOTIFICATION (COVID-19-TASKLING FOOD INSECURITY AND SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS AT FINANCIAL RISK).

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am pleased to advise you that Falkirk Council is providing you with additional financial support of £165 per eligible pupil on or around Friday, October 7, 2022 as follows:

https://www.falkirk.gov.uk/services/schools-education/education-benefits-support/financial-support-pupils.aspx

Please, we need your candid advice and clarification on this as we are yet to renew our visa and we do want any issues with UKVI as regards to that when

applying for a Visa renewal.

Please amiable senior nairalander, I need your input and clarification on this.

That i do not agree with you,i also bank with GTB and my turn over for a month is half of your turnover and i was able to get 4m in less than 3mins without talking to my account officer and the interest rate is %1.75 even though i did not need it i just wanted to see if there new Quick Credit loan offer works and it does.

Talk to your account officer if you have a cooperate account.

omonla10:
Na gtb worse pass. My monthly turnover averages around 10m and they can't even shake body small. I even test them with 10k.. They know I can't do without them as they are the only bank in Nigeria that operates online payment of custom duty..
