Business / Allmandb: Sales Funnel Explained by BusinessSharper: 10:48pm On Apr 09
Imagine your website is your store, but instead of people just browsing and maybe leaving empty-handed, you have a system to turn visitors into paying customers. That system is your sales funnel.

Think of it like a funnel you pour water into. At the top, it's wide open, representing all the people who visit your website. As the water (visitors) move down the funnel, it narrows down. Here's what happens at each stage:

1. AWARENESS (Top of the Funnel): These are people who might not even know you exist. They see your ad online, a social media post, or hear about you from a friend. Your website's job here is to grab their attention, show them you offer something they might be interested in, and get them to enter the funnel.

2. INTEREST (Middle of the Funnel): Now they're curious! They've clicked through to your website and are looking for more information. This is where you provide valuable content like blog posts, videos, or free ebooks. You're educating them about your product or service and building trust.

3. DECISION (Middle of the Funnel): They understand your offering and see its value. Now they're comparing you to competitors or considering if they really need what you sell. Here, you showcase testimonials, case studies, or special offers to convince them you're the best choice.

4. ACTION (Bottom of the Funnel): They're ready to buy! This is where your website makes it easy for them to take action. Clear calls to action (CTAs) like "Buy Now" or "Subscribe" guide them towards the sale or lead capture form.

Why is a sales funnel important?

🛒📦More Leads & Sales: By guiding visitors through these stages, you capture more leads and convert them into paying customers.

🎯Targeted Content: Tailoring content to each stage ensures you're giving visitors the right information at the right time.

🛫Improved Customer Journey: Your website becomes a smooth journey that leads visitors towards becoming loyal customers.

Building a sales funnel isn't magic, but it does take planning and effort. The good news? We can help you create a winning sales funnel for your business!

Hope you’ve got value?

Business / Is Your Website Working For Your Business? [honest Opinion] - Allmandb by BusinessSharper: 10:31am On Apr 05
Let's face it, business owners: websites are not optional anymore. They're your digital storefront, your online billboard, your 24/7 salesman. But here's the honest opinion we all need to hear: just having a website isn't enough. In fact, a neglected, outdated, or poorly designed website can actually harm your business more than help it.

So, let's get real:

- Is your website attracting new customers? Or is it lost in the SEO wilderness, invisible to potential leads?

- Does it convert visitors into paying customers? Or are they left confused, frustrated, and clicking away with a shrug?

- Does it reflect your brand accurately? Or is it stuck in a time warp, sending mixed messages about your professionalism and credibility?

Here's the brutal truth: if your website isn't actively working for you, it's working against you. It's costing you precious leads, damaging your brand image, and ultimately, hurting your bottom line.

But fear not! It's never too late to turn things around. Here's your action plan:

1. Take an honest audit: Be brutally honest with yourself. Is your website visually appealing? Easy to navigate? Mobile-friendly? Does it clearly communicate your value proposition and call to action?

2. Invest in quality content: Don't just stuff keywords. Create valuable, engaging content that informs, educates, and resonates with your target audience.

3. Optimize for conversions: Every page, every element should guide visitors towards your desired outcome, whether it's a purchase, contact form submission, or newsletter signup.

4. Embrace analytics: Track your website's performance. See what's working, what's not, and adapt your strategy accordingly.

5. Stay fresh and relevant: Websites, like businesses, need to evolve. Regularly update content, design, and functionality to keep pace with changing trends and user expectations.

So, go ahead, take that honest look at your website. Is it time for a makeover? Don't be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Your business (and your bottom line) will thank you for it.

Webmasters / The Difference: A Website Vs Money-generating Website - Allmandb by BusinessSharper: 12:05am On Apr 05
A WEBSITE VS MONEY-GENERATING WEBSITE

A website and a money-generating website (sales funnel) are related but serve distinct purposes. Here's a breakdown of the key differences:

Website 🌐:

✅Overall Goal: Provides information, builds brand awareness, and establishes credibility.

✅Content: Offers a variety of content like blog posts, articles, product descriptions, about us pages, and contact information.

✅Structure: Generally more flexible and exploratory, allowing users to navigate freely and discover information organically.

✅Examples: Company websites, news websites, educational websites, portfolio websites, and personal blogs.

✅Monetization: May not be the primary focus, but monetization options could include advertising, affiliate marketing, or offering premium content subscriptions.

Money-Generating Website (Sales Funnel)💰:

🧲Overall Goal: Converts visitors into paying customers or leads.

🧲Content: Focused on guiding visitors through a specific journey, highlighting the benefits of a product or service and ultimately leading to a call to action (CTA) like "Buy Now" or "Subscribe."

🧲Structure: Streamlined and linear, guiding users through a predefined path toward a desired action.

🧲Examples: Landing pages, e-commerce websites, webinar registration pages, and online course platforms.

💸Monetization: Direct sales, subscriptions, or capturing leads for future sales efforts.

In essence: A website is a digital brochure, while a sales funnel is a persuasive salesperson online. You can have a website with a sales funnel integrated within it, leveraging the website's content to drive visitors toward the conversion-focused funnel.

Hope you got value?

Politics / How 4 Nigerian Teenagers Hijacked A Plane In 1993 - Story By Olumide Glowville by BusinessSharper: 10:26am On Jun 16, 2022
On October 25 of 1993, four Nigerian teenagers hijacked a Nigerian Airways airbus A310 that was flying from Lagos to Abuja and diverted the plane to Niamey, Niger Republic.

How did they do it? And why?

An election had happened on June 12 of that year. It was and still is recognized as a “free and fair” election which was meant to bring MKO Abiola into power as President of Nigeria, having won majority votes.

But the expected did not happen as the then Military Head of States, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida annulled the election.

This led to riots and protests across the country, especially in the southern parts of Nigeria.

These four teenagers - Richard Ogunderu (19), Kabir Adenuga (18), Benneth Oluwadaisi (20) and Kenny Rasaq Lawal (19) - were among those protesting against this annulment. So, they decided to do something radical.

They all unassumingly boarded the flight at Muritala Mohammed Airport alongside other passengers. About 16mins before landing, they waited until the pilot announced that passengers should fasten their seat belts and prepare for landing.

Then they stood and made an announcement that was quoted thus:

“Ladies and gentlemen, this plane has been taken over by the Movement for the Advancement of Democracy. Remain calm, we will not harm you. You will be told where the plane will land you. You do not move or you die.”

The leader of the hijackers, Richard Ogunderu, walked into the cockpit and seized the process, and then one other followed. Two remained to watch over the passengers.

When Richard got to the cockpit, the pilot knew immediately it was an attack and obeyed the instructions given to him by the hijackers.

Ogunderu then asked the pilot to divert the aircraft straight to Germany. The pilot convinced him the plane did not carry sufficient fuel to crossover the Atlantic and then suggested they divert to a nearby country, Niger or they will crash and everybody dies.

The two hijackers told the pilot what they wanted was where they could give publicity to their reason for the hijack. They told him they wanted the plane to go to Germany, because they could have a good press coverage that would support their democratic cause for Nigeria. But that couldn’t happen because of the fuel shortage.

They agreed to land in Niamey, Niger Republic.

Upon landing, the hijackers found themselves surrounded by hundreds of armed Nigeriène soldiers at the airport.

So, they distributed their demands in a pamphlets among the passengers in the plane calling on the Nigerian government to overturn the annulment of the June 12 election.

They gave the government 72 hours to meet their demands or else they would set the plane ablaze.

To show they were not ready to kill anyone so long as the government listens to them, they released 34 of the 193 passengers, among whom were top Nigerian government officials.

The leader of the hijackers also spoke to a BBC correspondent. The correspondent asked what they were fighting for, and he told him, they wanted to actualize the mandate given by the Nigerian people to M.K.O Abiola.

Nigerian government sent 24 delegates to come and talk to the hijackers, but none of them entered the aircraft to talk to them, instead they were in the hotel, asking them to come down.

The Nigeriene soldiers were also not able to storm the plane because the hijackers claimed to have rigged the plane with explosives. So, they had to resort to negotiations as the hijackers kept the remaining passengers hostage.

For three days, the hijackers and the passengers fed on coffee & biscuits.

Eventually, they ran out of water for coffee. One of the passengers demanded for water and the hijackers had to reach out to the Nigeriène soldiers to bring some water to the plane.

Under the guise of bringing them water and food, the Nigeriène soldiers were able to realize that the hijackers were not armed. So they waited till night, and under the cover of darkness, they stormed the plane.

The four teenagers were arrested, cuffed hands behind their backs and taken straight to a prison cell.

The hijackers spoke neither Hausa nor French and nobody made any attempt to question them in English. They were denied food for days.

The hijackers were remanded in Niamey prison for 8 years before they were released in 2001.

The Nigerian government didn’t even bother requesting for them to be extradited. They wanted them away from Nigerian soil, to prevent them becoming a symbol of resistance to Nigeria's youths.

***

A lot of us often say that members of the old generation didn’t do too much against the bad leadership we have always had in this country. This story just goes to show that some of them have dared to do the impossible.

It is insane bravery for teenagers to hijack a plane just so they can have the country of their dreams.

These guys deserve to be honoured for their efforts towards the fight for Democracy in Nigeria.

Perhaps, someday a movie will be shot to tell their story and immortalize their efforts.

I found a 2020 Tribune interview with the leader of the hijackers. You can read the link in my first comment.

***

Some of us may not have the audacity to hijack a plane, but we can show commitment to getting our PVCs, going out to actually vote for our chosen candidate, and standing by our vote.

God bless Nigeria.

Politics / 5 Legitimate Ideas For Giving Credit And Commendation For What Your Team Achieve by BusinessSharper: 2:19pm On Jul 12, 2020
When you see people doing things right, give credit for their actions or efforts quickly. This elevates the morale of the team.

1. Give shout outs or public statement. Mention the team’s accomplishments in a post or broadcast, you can include the team’s picture or names. And state why it is important.

2. Applaud their efforts, courage and new methods which they used to achieve the result (gesture your feelings by clapping).

3. Express your feelings with the right words. Example: Amazing! Excellent! Fantastic! Superb! Impressive! Well done! Well said! Marvellous!

Don’t just commend their efforts or accomplishments, step it up with gift as a surprise:

4. Treat them to the best spot in town after work or with their favourite food or drink (wine, tea, coffee, ice cream, water).

5. Present them a gift (who doesn’t like a suit and a tie or want a tech gadget or a car?)

Food / 6 INGREDIENTS I USED FOR PREPARING A SOUP THAT LASTED FOR 4DAYS WITH JUST #500 by BusinessSharper: 2:12pm On Jul 12, 2020
Before you say it is practically impossible, let me show you how I did it. To add to this, some people will use the token to make something different and better, and return the change.

Sometimes you have to manage the available resources creatively to get things done.

Here are the ingredients:
1 cup of grinded melon (egusi) —100 Naira
3 smoked panla fish (torn each into two and I got 6 as a result) — 200 Naira
1 table spoon of dried pepper — 50 Naira
1/4 small bottle of palm oil — 50 Naira
Condiments — 100 Naira
Vegetable (bitter leaf) — free

Total amount spent : 500 Naira
Provided: cooking gas and garri

How I sourced the vegetable (bitter leaf): I lifted up my eyes to the North, the South, the East and the West, behold green! A bitter leaf tree, I plucked enough to mix with the grinded melon (egusi) and that was all I needed to feed myself.
What soup can you prepare that will last for 4days with 500 Naira?

Career / THE ROYAL ROAD TO INVESTOR’S HEART: Sell Beyond Family And Friends Ties by BusinessSharper: 7:23pm On Jun 13, 2020
I’m about to share a secret no one ever taught you in school or elsewhere. This secret will help you make sense of an investor and put you in a more favourable position.

Whether it is personal funding or Investment funding, a business will always be in need of funding for as long as it’s in existence.
There are two stages when starting out where funding is vital, but the second stage (The beginner) is our focus:
• The idea stage: when you have conceptualised your idea and back it up with a well detailed business plan but no resources to execute it.
• The Beginner (startup): when you have executed some of your plans and set in operation but in need of resources to expand.
At this stage, your presentation must be guided by practical rather than theory. Investors want to see what you’ve done rather than what you will do.

Now hear this! No matter how sellable your products or services are, if you have been selling to your close ties alone for more than 6 months or a year, it would be difficult to convince an investor especially an intelligent and experienced one. Some investors don’t find it convincing enough to hear an already established business is still struggling to sell beyond close ties.

Consider this real-life example, Duduke’s experience with an investor:
Duduke a young female entrepreneur met with an investor, after Duduke’s presentation the investor asked Duduke a question: “who have you sold your products and services to?”
“my uncle’s wife and few friends.” Duduke answered. Then the investor threw another question at Duduke, “how many times have you provided them your services or sold your products to them?”
“One-time,” Duduke replied. Then the investor retorted, “you run a great business but it will be difficult to convince an investor if you haven’t sold beyond your close ties.”

A sound way for already established business to impress, convince and attract an investor is to sell beyond close ties. If you ever need motivation to break limit, I have just provided you with it. Grow your business if you really want to attract investors. The truth is, the real business are those you don’t have to know before they buy your products or services. It is difficult but that is what make investors to want to listen more.

Sell beyond close ties!

Lesson: This taught me not to take shortcuts while learning. And that the person with the right answers is the one who will impress the coaches, employers, colleagues, investors and other powerful people.

Few years ago, my friend who is a software analyst and I had an intense brainstorming session to strategise on how to market a particular product. We saw how different brands tell and manufacture ill stories, also spreading all manner of fake news to draw people to their brand and for click baits. I can never forget what my friend said about publicity,

“if you have to draw public attention to your brand. Choose a positive way.” My friend said.

In business world, every business can benefit from a publicity even negative publicity. But nothing beats raising awareness of your product or services in a positive way. What people read or hear about your brand determines your market strength. So be honest and be truthful in your dealings.

“People talk about serving others, How can I serve other people?” I told her, “Ma if you hadn’t served you can’t be here working. Working here is a prove of serving others, you are serving your colleagues and your boss.”

It never occurred to me that the woman was the owner of the business and the boss in that office until an old client came to lodge a complain. Just like Red Bull, Humility gives you wings to fly anywhere and relate with anyone.
