Family / 83-Day-Old Marriage Dissolved In Ibadan by bustyhelen(f): 5:07pm On Aug 11, 2016
Ibadan – A Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan on Wednesday dissolved an 83-day-old marriage between Pa Owolabi Alowonle and his wife, Idia, for deception.

Alowonle, 70, a surveyor was a widower before he married Idia, who was a widow.

The President of the court, Mr Hentic Agbaje, held that both Alowonle and Idia based their rush into marriage on infatuation and the urge to satisfy their selfish ambitions.

“I don’t exactly understand why two elderly persons who are already widow and widower should carelessly rush into a marriage without proper knowledge of one another.

“Well, I only wish both of you good as you have both accepted dissolution of the union.

“Therefore, in the interest of peaceful coexistence, the 83-day-old union between Alowonle and Idia has ceased to be henceforth,” he said.

He, however, directed Alowonle to provide a cash of N12,000 for Idia’s accommodation and another N2,000 for the movement of her belongings within seven days.

Earlier, in his petition, Alowonle, told the court that Idia was causing disharmony in his house as well as being a threat to his life.

“My lord, ever since Idia got to my home on May 18 this year, she has been doing everything possible to put an end to my life by not giving me rest of mind.

“She has been causing serious disharmony among my tenants who were peaceful before she married me.

“She and her daughter from time to time fight and gossip around the house giving unfounded information of one tenant to the other.

“As if that is not enough, Idia incited her daughter against me to abuse and break the long existing regulations I imposed on the house for peaceful coexistence of the tenants and my family.

“I barred any form of singing of religious songs which I know could cause problems among Muslim and Christian tenants.

“However, the daughter she brought from her late husband deliberately started singing in the house.

“In fact, Idia and her daughter have no respect for me,” Alowonle explained.

Idia, who did not deny any of the allegations, welcomed the divorce suit.

“It will be a big relief for me to exit his house, the house of trouble.

“My lord, when he met me as a widow, Alowonle promised to take good care of me, assuring that he had no wife since he lost his last wife.

“However, just seven days after I moved into his home as a wife, he brought in another wife and started treating me like dustbin.

“Ever since then, he asked me to leave the shop he established for me with N25,000 and has even asked me to leave his house altogether.

“It is a thing of joy for me to be free again from his unfaithfulness,’’ Idia said.

Romance / Cheating! Men Able To Know D Size Of Lady's Boobs By Mere Looking But Women Cant by bustyhelen(f): 10:16pm On Jul 19, 2016
It's really not fare. Men can easily knw the size of women's boobs by mere looking at us. But we women can't know the size of a man's dick by mere looking. You might look and think it's big, getting down, u discover it's small.

On the other hand, you might think someone is carrying a match stick down there, only to discover he's carrying a pipe later.

So it's cheating.

I saw a thread in romance section about wide vs tight vaginas.

Anyway, why is that many guys have small dicks, or at most moderate or big?

You hardly see guys with huge or large or extra large dicks..

I have only had something to do with 4 guys, out of them, 2 had tiny, 1 moderate and the other extra large. I only like moderate any way bcs I'm too tight.

But many of my friends have not come across extra large Dicks, only tiny and small or average ones.

Babes, share ur experiences..

Nairalanders with small or tiny dicks will b making mouth. just like one 9ja man wey de claim fine boy. I heard his weewee thing is tiny.

Halo romancelanders,

I'm back... The bustyhelen is back to take her rightful place...

I have been away due to a number of issues.. First, I needed to sort out my academics, secondly, I discovered that the man that I was engaged to already impregnated another babe without telling me. I called off the engagement. That's a story for another day.

Presently, my girlfriend when we were in schl, had this boyfriend that was always coming around, A pharmacist..

After our graduation, he hit me up on WhatsApp, that he just discovered that my friend has hot temper and has bad mouth, that he likes me. That He prefers me. That I will be good in bed, unlike my friend that doesn't experiment. That he likes big boobs, unlike my friend with moderate one.. imagine. he wants a sex machine... Shuo!!! me? I was like what nonsense..

I told him off immediately.. I'm thinking of telling my friend about it. I still have the chats..

But, I don't knw how my friend will take it.

Business / Spirit Fire Consumes Sokoto, Takes 43 Lives, Destroys N50m Worth Of Property by bustyhelen(f): 7:42pm On Sep 04, 2015
In this piece, ANKELI EMMANUEL reports on the gale of mysterious fire that has swept across Sokoto State, destroying houses and properties worth millions of naira, while taking the life of a woman and her baby.

Wonders, they say, shall never end. A visit to Tsalibawa Kabobi Area, Sokoto North, Waziri ‘A’, Kofar Marke within the metropolis would not only send cold shivers down your spine, but also leave you speechless, as spirit fire mysteriously killed a woman, (Baraka Mohammed) and her baby at Gidan Mode Lofa and continues to lick the walls of most families within the vicinity.

The spirit fire, which has inflicted untold hardship on most victims, has a mission yet to be understood by the locals.

Although, fire could be subjected to diverse interpretation depending on semantic application.

However, the Sokoto Tsalibawa Spirit fire by realistic understanding belongs to the rapid, persistent chemical change that releases heat and light accompanied by flame, especially the exothermic oxidation of a combustible substance.

Bearing the above in mind, the tetrahedron of fire could be said to include Fuel (anything that can burn), Heat (enough to make the fire burn) and Air (oxygen to sustain the fire). Fire, is as well categorised into A, B, C and D depending on the fuel type.

Household fire is majorly believed to be caused by either, Human Error, General Negligence, Faulty Electricity or Flammable and Combustible Materials and is spread most times by Conduction, Convection and Radiation.

But amazingly, the Sokoto Tsalibawa Spirit Fire defiles all known causes and classes of fire as it cannot be attributed to anything other than mystery beyond human imagination.

Narrating the genesis of the Spirit Fire, the Maianguwa (Area Head), 66 years old Muhammadu Maikwusa told LEADERSHIP Friday that, they have been battling with the strange development for over three months now.

“I have lived in Sokoto all my life and I have never heard of any such mysterious fire. It all started from the time of the 2015 Presidential election and since then, we have continued to try to find a solution to the Spirit Fire, yet all is to no avail”.

When asked whether they hitherto made promises or sacrifices of any sort to deities before now, Mainaguwa simply said ‘No’ to the best of his knowledge.

“Our fathers are devoted Muslims. And we cannot remember them worshiping any gods apart from Allah.”

“Though, we cannot say precisely what must have been the cause of the Tsalibwa Spirit Fire. We however bear it in good fate believing that, it is simply a temptation from Allah. And we are, as well trusting Allah for a remedy”

Giving vivid account of victims of the Sokoto Spirit Fire, Maikwusa said, they are now over 43 and that the figure could get higher with time hence the Spirit Fire has not stopped.

Maikwusa, divulged that the Spirit Fire was first noticed in the house of one Hajiya Ashshibi and since then has continued unabated.

“The Spirit Fire has touched the house of Sanusi Barawa, Altine Ummaru, Usman Mai Yan Kunne, Rakiya Aliyu, Iyalan Margayi Musa, myself, Alh. Muhammadu Mainguwa, Saldu Tsari, Ummu Abu Mai Tifa, Mallam Garba Driver, Hajiya Abu Abubakar, Kawwali Mai Atamfa, Lawwali Tallabe, Dankawu Driver, Gidan Mode Lofa (where Baraka Mohammed and her child was killed), Musa Gudu, Alh. Muhammadu Mai Gadi Kasuwa, Alh. Mustapha Isah Danbaba, Alh. Ibrahim Isa Danbaba and Kasimu Tanko.

“Others are, Abu Mu’azu Danjabalu, Lawawali Jola Hajiya Yassidi Abubakar Tambuwal, Sirajo Mohammed, Zara’u Muhammed, Bello Wundy, Alh. Yusuf Kofar Rini, Bashiru Mana, Ummaru Mohammed, Mudi Alh. Ruwa, Alh. Garba Sanda, Bello Dan Oga, Alh. Bala, Attahiru Gidan Ruwa, Faruku Na. Alh. Shehu Maiyadi, Tujani Jibril, Mujtaba Musa, Hajiya Baba, Hajiya Alado, Hawa’u Jibrin, and Altine Galadima D/Daji among others yet to be included”.

On the motive of the Spirit Fire, Ibrahim said, he cannot be specific, but he however, has the conviction that is to simply kill, render them homeless and make them objects of empathy, hence, the entire household now sleeps on the bare floor because fire has consumed all their mattresses.

“The most frightening aspect of the mystery is that, money and other valuables kept inside will also get missing without anybody entering the house”. Ibrahim pathetically cried.

Narrating her ordeal in the hands of the Sokoto Spirit Fire, 75-year-old Lantana Abdullahi, whose house was completely razed down, said, she saw fire burning from under the mattress and raised alarm after which, people came and put the fire off, but could not avert the unexpected.

“When they succeeded in putting off the fire, before they could reach their houses, we now saw fire again from the wall of the next room and while we raised alarm, we saw fire again from the top of the roof and when the people came it had overtaken everywhere. The fire burnt down our house completely and now we sleep outside.”

Both 67-year-old Abubakar Maisalibawa and 40-year-old Aminu Husseini, whose houses and properties were destroyed by the Spirit Fire said, the fire could come out from both the ground, under bed, mat, wall and even trees planted in the house.

“I went to assist Abubakar Maisalibawa in putting off the fire that started in his house, while we were there, I was called upon that, fire had also started in my own house and before I knew it, it had razed down my house. My wife narrowly escaped death because she was inside and the ceiling fell down on her”, Husseini narrated.

Romance / Ladies, 3 Things To Remember While Waiting For Mr. Right by bustyhelen(f): 3:01pm On Jan 19, 2015
Written By Nina Borum
Since the beginning of time, woman has been a gift to man. Eve didn’t have to do much to win Adam over in the perfect garden. She probably hadn’t shaved or spent tons of money at the salon and definitely hadn’t learned 50 ways to cook chicken to win Adam over. He knew that she was a gift and he was thankful.

Unfortunately today women are doing all they can to convince a guy that they are worth having. Magazine articles, books and well meaning friends and family constantly remind us that we are not doing enough. We are told that if we are still single, it’s our fault (either directly or indirectly) and we should be doing A, B & C to win the affection of a man.

I’ve been there. I’ve read through all the articles only to find myself a little more discouraged. These articles usually tend to reinforce that I’m not good enough and that I need to act a certain way for the right man to fall for me. Talk less, talk more, play hard to get, don’t play games, tell him how you feel, don’t tell him how you feel, wear more heels, sneakers are hot, and the list goes on. All the advice is ever changing and it’s hard to keep up with the best way to attract a man.

This quote stood out to me the other day “ Act Like a Prize and You will Turn him into a Believer”.

This quote got me to thinking that if women were truly the prize, why do we stress out so much over relationships. Do guys run to the mall to buy a new shirt to impress a girl on a date? Do they fall asleep reading articles entitled “How to get a girl to notice me”? Do they take a cooking class just so they can make their girlfriend the best dinner ever? Maybe some do but I think we can all agree that sometimes women worry too much about getting a man and keeping him.

Sometimes we just need to be reminded that we are the prize!

We want to feel like a prize but often times we don’t. We put in a lot of energy to get little attention from a guy that we may be interested in. If we want to be treated like a prize, we need to learn how to act like a prize. Here are three things to remember when acting like a prize.

Prizes are earned. In a race, all the runners have the same chance of winning, but only one gets 1st prize. This means that we don’t have to make ourselves available to every man that presents himself to us. We are available to the ones who value the prize so much that they are willing to put in the extra work it takes to win us. This doesn’t mean that we have men jumping through hoops, but it does mean taking notice of the guy who picks up the phone to call and makes his intentions clear versus the one who sends many mixed signals and leaves you confused.

Prizes have worth. Keeping with our race analogy, we can’t expect the runners to give their all for a prize that they don’t value. As women, instead of trying to accomplish and do things to prove our value we need to start believing the value that we already have as God’s beloved daughters! I have accomplished quite a few things in my life that add to my “worldly” value but none of those things has gotten me a husband. Believe that you truly are God’s prized possession and you will begin to shine and everyone will notice.

Prizes don’t compete. The only people who should be competing in a race are the runners, not the prizes! Each level or variety of prize is unique and valuable in it’s own way. As women, we sometimes forget that we should not be in competition with one another. We are all valuable prizes and we should be celebrating each other and not competing. A woman who is constantly in competition with other women is communicating that she doesn’t see her own value.

In all these things, remember that instead of being frustrated that men don’t see you as a prize you should challenge yourself to start acting like the prize that you believe you truly are.

Fashion / Optometrists Advise Women Against Indiscriminate Use Of Artificial Eyelashes by bustyhelen(f): 1:35pm On Jan 02, 2015
Some optometrists have advised women against indiscriminate use of artificial eyelashes during the festive period to avoid damage to the cornea.

The optometrists, in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, also advised women to patronize experts, if they must wear the lashes.

NAN reports that the use of eye lashes has taken root in the Nigerian fashion scene, especially during festive periods.

A Consultant Optometrist, Eniola Ajayi, said: “If one must wear eye lashes, you have to follow the laid down procedures as approved by professional anesthesiologists”.

Ajayi said that the laceration of the cornea could cause a scar and in turn impair vision.

“The issues lie with the technical fixing of the lashes, which can affect the front cover of the eye, the cornea.

“It is a transparent tissue and if anything causes it to lacerate, that is, cut or bruise, and it fails to heal well, it will cause a scar which will affect vision in terms of clarity.

“If in the process of fixing the lashes, proper hygienic measures are not taken, infections can occur.

“The physical attributes of the lash, if not properly fixed, that is, if it is not correctly turned up, can begin to abrade the eye causing an erosion of the cornea over time,” Ajayi said.

Another consultant optometrist, Susu Enang, expressed concern over the use of super glue to stick the lashes.

“Although, I don’t have the authority to say people should not use these artificial lashes, I advocate sticking it with the natural ones.

“People come to my clinic with complaints associated with injuries sustained from the use of artificial lashes.

“I have a patient whose cornea suffered burns when super glue accidentally got into her eye.

“When these artificial lashes are fixed by a non professional, it can turn inward and abrade the cornea.

“Also, when glue is applied on the eye lid margin, it blocks the sebaceous glands that secrete oil to moisturise the eye.

“It consequently denies the eye of the antibiotic properties it provides, resulting in infection of the eyelid and the sebaceous glands itself.

“Interestingly, artificial lashes create room for infections because people who wear these lashes do not wash their eyes well, and also when the lashes fall out, dust and bacteria will accumulate around the eyes,” Enang said.

Speaking on the issue, Sandra Aigbe, said that glue contains chemicals like formaldehyde, which could have adverse effect on the eyes.

“Glue can cause allergic reactions causing stinging, burning, swelling and rashes.

She further advised women to be wary of using artificial lashes if there was any form of discomfort in the eye.

“Avoid fixing lashes if you have any eye infection or disease,” she said.
