Baba you're smart FOLYKAZE: I asked a JW some years back why KJV of the Bible contain 1 John 5:7 but NIV has a very short version removing the trinity. There is another Bible version can't remember precisely that removed that particular verse completely. He admitted he did not have answer and never return again.
Same thing applies to the ending of gospel of Mark, KJV had it but some version have it erased or kept it in the footnote, with a statement saying the verse is not present in the original manuscript. And again, it is a popular knowledge among critics that the story of adulterous woman and the ending of John is forgery. This prompt one to question the Bible as a whole.
1 John 5:7 is actually a theological gloss, deliberately inserted by whoever wrote the Latin manuscript so as to give Trinity a resounding testimony from the book. The ending chapter of the gospel mark v9-20 is also a deliberate insertion.
With all these obvious insertion, distortion and fabrication found almost everywhere in the Bible, it is good standing for one to hold that the Bible is not the word of God, never was an inspiration of God |

So there's nothing special when you hear it afresh from a clergyman/clergywoman.

At the emboldened, a right thinking Atheist would point out evidences that would trigger your thoughts on the said discourse, but believing it after pointing those evidences to you is totally on you. Secondly, we are yet to confirm in total certainty if the universe is eternal or came to exist by a first cause. So the fair answer that you would get from an Atheist would be "i don't know yet". Religious folks are the people that claim to be sure that the universe came to exist by a first cause, and it always triggers that infinite regress question of how did the first cause came to exist? So Bros, hope u get it now?🤷 SIRTee15: The biggest headache I have with layman atheist is they don't know how to argue.
You came here and said U rejected the bible because it said Jesus is the son of God.
Is this now what U wrote...
If you said Jesus was a normal human being and not a special son of God and not alive. It would have been better. We could say, fine. He went down in history like any other.
But saying he is a son of God and that he is one special thing is nothing but a joke.
When I asked for evidence of why U rejected Jesus as Son of God, U started ranting about metaphysics
What does metaphysics and quantum physics has to do with a statement in the bible?
Next time just say U don't believe in the bible because it's content contradict the law of physics or Yahweh doesn't exist. Simple and spare us all the unnecessary headache.
If U don't believe God exist, we shouldn't be talking about the bible at all.
That's what we call external evidence!!!! Do U get it now .
I don't think I want to take U on metaphysics because my experience with atheists is they don't understand metaphysics in the first place. Atheist contradict themselves so much when it comes to metaphysics. They just like throwing fancy and big words around to sound intelligent; terminologies they themselves do t understand
And what U wrote up there supports my assertion.
You wrote Jesus can't be Son of God because U believe there's no existence of God in the first place. And since Jesus can't be come out of nothing, then Jesus being son of Yahweh is a lie meaning Jesus saying he's the son of a non existent thing makes no sense. This argument is related to the law of infinite regress which brings us to law of cause and contingency.
Now here is the problem.
Atheist will want to us to believe that our universe and every existence we know came out of nothing. Matter, mass and time that comprise the universe came into existence out of nothing.
To atheist the law of infinite regress makes sense when it comes to the universe and our existence- we don't need a first cause to exist. But when it comes to Jesus being the Son of God- suddenly law of infinite regress no longer makes sense and there has to be a cause.
According to atheist, for Jesus to be Son of Yahweh, the principle of 'necessary being' must be applied- Jesus must come from a cause. But when it comes to the universe, the principle of contingency thing should be rejected- universe can exist without a cause.
Above is a clear contradiction. And that's why debating atheist on metaphysics is a waste of time. |

Romance › Re: Why I Think The Redpill Movement Is Weak. by Busybrain2233: 8:18pm On Aug 14, 2024 |
You really cracked me up at the emboldened FRANCISTOWN: To me, I think the redpill is still a lil weak.
No 1. Redpill focuses much more on getting sex from women thru game. Now here is the trick.
If a man focused on getting sex. Whether he likes it or not, he must focus on women. Why? A man cannot give himself sex, he must still get it from a woman. You can't get an egg without the hen. It's impossible.
In the process of trying to game women. Redpill places lots of attention on women. It is a reverse psychology thing. Like saying you hate someone and do not care about them, but you are constantly checking their snap, IG and whatsApp stories. It's called obsession.
The redpill is obsessed with women, and gives them unworthy attention.
2. Redpill doesn't tell men the whole truth. In this world we live in. Money makes the world go round. As a matter of fact, you need money to be friends with your own friends. You need money to be a member of your extended family.
Now what makes anyone think you won't ever need money to get the best girls? You could be Beyonce's spec, so bad that she could be willing to give you her lover. But if you're not rich, your paths can't even cross for her to manifest her likeness on you. Now who is losing out? So money places you at where better opportunities can find you. Not some hungry iPhone 13 girls who have not eaten for 5days.
I'm not saying you should give money to women, but I'm saying you need that money, to attain a level where a woman will sleep with you even without spending a dime. Some women will open their legs for you by seeing just the kind of ride you drive. And you don't even need to pay them.
Instead of the redpill to emphasize the importance of making money, for one'self and for one's relatives. Redpill makes men complacent and comfortable by telling them game is all they need to have sex with a woman. Whereas game will never get you some kinds of women in this life.
3. Redpill teaches game. Game is a waste of time. Imagine a broke man who spends his energy studying how to get a girl to sleep with him? Does that make sense? That's a misplaced priority. A broke man is not even supposed to think about game. He should think about how to defeat poverty. If sex came to him without stress, he should take it and bounce. But he shouldn't make it something worthy of study.
When I said I do not follow the redpill. I didn't mean all redpill nuggets. But think about it. Look at this forum, I mean NL. All the redpill movement only talks about how to get a woman, sex, cheating and fantasy. There is no single redpill thread about how to make money, how to encourage young ones who are confused and clueless about what to make out of their lives, how to rise after failing, life experiences. It's always about women, and how to get cheap sex.
We need to understand the harsh reality of life that money answers to all things.
But think about it. Are women really worth the amount of time that the redpill allocates them?

What evidence are you talking about? Hope you know what an evidence means? Steep: The evidence proves that there is an immaterial spaceless and timesless being the created the universe. Evidence proves the universe (matter and space-time) had a beginning. Meaning whatever caused the universe into being is immaterial, spaceless and timeless, this is the basic definition of God. It is an illogical belief to assume the universe is eternal and also illogical to belief that the universe was created by nothing. |

Steep: No, The big bang was not a theory only for the observable universe, so far all evidences goes against the eternality of the universe. It is part of what what what God is. I laugh when people ask "who created God" it is like asking why is rectangle not circular?
You question " is there being greater than God" is like asking is there a number greater than infinity or is there a time greater than eternity? You also ask is there a colour whiter than white? If there is being greater than God or if God was created then God wouldn't be God.
God by basic definition is eternal, uncreated, spaceless, uncaused cause of all creation and of course absolute power.
Since God is not part of space-time then logically you don't expect God to be proven with the scientific method the way material things are proven rather God reveals himself. You didn't answer my questions you were only reiterating your thoughts about God and the universe, I can't seem to perceive any knowledge in what you just wrote rather I perceive mere thoughts. |
Christianity Etc › Re: When I Became An Atheist. by Busybrain2233: 5:07pm On Jul 31, 2024 |
Steep: all current evidences show that the universe had a beginning so the universe can not be said to have had an inifinity past. God did not pop out of nothing, he is ever present from all eternity to eternity. There is nothing like a being higher than God, just like saying asking if there is a square circle.
The very definition of God denotes finality, there is nothing greater than him neither can be, he is the cause of all there is while he himself has no cause.
Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. At the emboldened, you might be referring to the observable universe. How do you know God was ever present and how do I verify your claim? How do you for sure know that there's no being higher than God? The people who made that definition how did they come to realise all that about God? Or did they go back in time to check if God actually existed as an eternal being? Is it possible for something/someone/deity to exist without no cause? Please state your reasons clearly? And if yes, what could have triggered/caused that to happen? Quoting a passage in the bible to make a point to me isn't wise, why should I take what it says serious? |
Christianity Etc › Re: When I Became An Atheist. by Busybrain2233: 2:59pm On Jul 31, 2024 |
Steep: except that evidences do not agree with you. Earlier scientist had thought the universe was eternal and proposed different theories that support the eternality of the universe until their hopes were shattered recently by the hubbles telescope they found that the universe is expanding and also discovered the cosmic micro wave background.
The universe cannot be eternal because the universe would have experienced heat death in eternity past and we would not have existed.
Guess what you believe there is something called eternity which no one can explain, science can't explain it.
As studies are getting advanced they are starting to see that the universe is more complex than they had thought. The observable universe is/might be finite, but what we don't know are events that happened before the observable universe emanated. So do you think your God popped out from nothing or was created by a higher being |
