InvestmentOperations Of Dom Account Remain Intact – Bankers by busyflexz(op): 9:50am On Aug 10, 2015
The Bankers’ Committee has offered further clarifications on the recent restriction on dollar cash deposit into domiciliary accounts.
Rising from the 323 Bankers Committee Meeting (comprising the Central Bank of Nigeria and the member banks) in Lagos, the Committee said “the operations of domiciliary account remain the same, the only thing that has changed is the restriction on dollar cash deposit into it.
Director/CEO Guarantee Trust Bank, who spoke on this position said ”the operations of domiciliary account remain the same. You still have unfettered access to your account. You can transfer money into your domiciliary account and transfer money out of your domiciliary account without any restrictions. The only thing that has changed is payment of cash dollars into your domiciliary account.
The challenge is lack of awareness because the amount of things you can do through the CBN windows in terms of invisibles are a lot more than people think.”
“You will continue to pay medical bills through the CBN window. You will continue to pay school fees through the CBN window and as today, the CBN has met all those invisibles that are necessary. Those legitimate expenses can be taken from CBN window so people shouldn’t rely on the parallel market when their demands can be met through the CBN window at a cheaper rate. The type of demand that puts pressure on the foreign currency is not the small invisibles”, he explained further.
Asked what would happen to the rejected dollars, he said “we don’t really concern ourselves with what people do with their dollars thereafter. Our official currency is the naira, for those who have chosen to hold the dollars, it’s their personal decision.”
48hrs funding for fx. It will help to determine what is legitimate demands and spurious demands. Making 48hrs demands will also enable the CBN to know the level of daily dollar demands.
On Cash-less Nigeria, the Committee said, its only
operational in five states plus Abuja for now and anyone who may have been charged in other states will have their refunds.
Mr. Segun Oloketuyi, the Managing Director/CEO Wema Bank, who gave the clarification on behalf of the Committee, said “the states are Lagos, Ogun, Anambra, Rivers, Kano plus Abuja.”
“The intension is to roll out across the country but we had to hold back because we want a seamless experience. We are looking at the infrastructure developments in the other states such that when they are rolled out, we won’t have a challenge. But the banking sector has invested hugely in building infrastructure on mobile and internet banking. We encourage customers to migrate to these platforms.
Those that were charged erroneously in the other states will have their refund with immediate effect,” he said.

Career16 Habits Of Highly Successful Women by busyflexz(op): 7:26pm On Aug 09, 2015
Men and women tend to think differently. Some say women think more with their intuition, and men are more practical. On the other hand, to some people this is just a bunch of prejudices and a references from pop psychology. Whatever the case is or- whatever you choose to believe in- there are some things successful women do differently than those who are, let’s say, less successful. Even if you are somehow happy with your life choices, it is always useful to upgrade yourself, right? That’s why we made this list. We present you 15 habits that make determined women even more successful.

1. Make a brand of yourself. The times of having one profession for the lifetime are over. This is the time to think fast and think about the things you do really well. And the most important thing is- find something that will identify you as a brand. Do you write well? Are you a good listener? Do you find art amusing? Go for it. But be professional and think of it as your specialty. Educate yourself in areas you find unique, and ideas will follow.

2. Focus on the 20%. We will try to explain it like this: in today’s economy and all the unpredictable problems that can generally ruin your plans, it is important to know when the progress is actually happening. You see, when you have a lot on your mind, and many women do, you only see the negative sides. Sometimes you miss the good results and concentrate on the problems. Keep in mind that 20% of effort gets you about 80% of results.

3. Prioritize people. Sometimes in life you will feel too overwhelmed. When you’re good enough, you will have different chances to shine. However, you can’t spend your energy equally on many things. Try to see yourself in the future, and try to figure out what you would like to choose for yourself. As hard as it sounds, it is crucial to your future success. Do you want to prosper financially or spiritually? Do you care more about the work you do or about the salary you receive. Choose your choice and go for it.

4. Try to evolve as much as you can. Remember that your learning doesn’t end with college. Back in the days, your obligations were to attend classes, but now that you are an adult woman you need to work on your education. There are many courses today on sites such as Coursera, that offer free knowledge for all kinds of professions. There is no reason not to challenge yourself in order to learn more.

5. Focus on solutions and not on problems. Let’s face it, problems are everywhere. It’s not that hard to find a problem anywhere you look. On the other hand, those who offer practical solutions are pretty rare. It doesn’t matter if you want to start your own business or you plant to work for someone else. Solutions are essential for every single job out there.

6. Think outside the box. As we already mentioned, the times have changed, and people today tend to explore more talents, which is great! But why not use that, and find different solutions for your problems? For instance, you need to hire someone to design the cover of your book but you don’t have enough money for that costly agency. Why not hire someone from freelance sites to do it for less money?

7. Make your own high-performance culture. Not everyone is a good manager. But if you are a good problem solver and a leader, then you should know about a few tricks that could help you in your career. Firstly, write down objectives with clear deadlines. Then, do the check-ups frequently.  Be sure to give everyone clear feedbacks and rewards for everything they did well. Treat your team members like you have many goals in common.

8. Have confidence. Trust yourself and you will feel the change. Many women are aware of their qualities, but they just find it hard to say what they really want. Being able to say what you need and being clear about the things that matter to you are crucial for a successful business woman. Also, have in mind that having confidence is a skill. You may not be able to express yourself right away, but exercise will help you a lot.

. Monitor your emotions. Women tend to have more emotional reactions to things. However, remember that your working space is not your living-room (or it is, if you work from home, but that’s not the point). It is important to know when to stop, because in case of a stressful situation you just need to stay calm. At the end of the day, it’s not about how many problems we have, but how we actually deal with them.

10. Organize yourself well. This is also very important for every woman who wants to succeed. Whether you are working for yourself or for anyone else, you need to know how to deal with your time and obligations. Take one step at the time, though. You don’t want to get frustrated by your own indecisiveness at some point. It’s okay to make mistakes sometimes, but try to have a general plan and inner organization.

11. Take care of your communication skills. While some women are naturally charismatic and have no fear in front of the people they don’t know, others, more introverted women may know how hard it is just to talk to people. And by talk we mean: meetings, talking to new people, writing emails, talking on the phone… The list goes on. Nourish your skills and upgrade them any time you have the chance.

12. Find yourself a woman mentor. We are not saying that you should not look up to a successful man, but a successful woman is the one that has probably already gone through what you are encountering now. So the amount of experience are great! Also, let’s try to think different for once; women usually think of each other as a threat, when they should fight together instead. So open your mind and look for that mentor.

13. Keep your personal life personal. If you are working in a team, you probably have that one person who is always complaining. Think about how annoying you find it, and you will understand why it is very important to know the line between private and professional. We are not saying you should not talk about anything, we are saying that sometime we can reveal a bit too much, which will distract other people from what we really are.

14. Stay informed and well connected. Once again, your education is not finished. You will learn your whole life, and that’s one of the best things that can happen to you. But you need to know what’s happening around you. Many successful businesswomen admit that they read blogs, follow all kinds of social networks, read the paper, watch the news…just to stay in shape. The world is changing fast and you need to keep the track with it.

15. Admit when you make mistakes. Mistakes are common and we all make them. However, many women punish themselves for making mistakes, and they don’t know that it’s even worse than making that mistake. You need to conquer your ego and go on, past mistakes. If you can’t solve it, leave it for some time and go on with your life. Don’t stay stuck with problems you can’t deal with right now

16. Feel free to add yours

CelebritiesBeing A Celebrity Has Made Me More Cautious - Aramide by busyflexz(op): 7:00pm On Aug 09, 2015
Aramide Sarumoh-Alli, a Nigerian Afro-Soul/Jazz artiste signed to Baseline Music, discovered her love for singing and writing as a teenager. After secondary school, she learnt to play the saxophone and guitar, two instruments she is quite passionate about.
During her days as a student of Political Science at the University of Jos, Aramide participated in the Star Quest talent hunt show, making her part of a band that finished Third Runners-up. Her solo career which took off shortly after graduation has been growing since then. The themes of her songs range from love, betrayal, friendship and trust. In a chat with Daily Trust on Sunday, she spoke about her passion for music, her musical influences including India Arie, Miriam Makeba, Asa and her nomination in the Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA)2015  as Female Artiste 2015 alongside other great female acts.  Some of her songs which have topped charts include: ‘Iwo Nikan’, ‘It’s Over’, ‘Feeling this feeling’ and ‘Odun tuntun’. Recently, she released another single titled, ‘I don’t care’ which has been well received by her fans.
What inspired you to start singing?
Singing has always been something I’ve been very passionate about from a very young age. I started as a song writer and later started playing the guitar. I grew up listening to a lot of soul and jazz music and that has helped me define my sound so far. Also the environment I grew up in had a great impact in my life. For me music on its own has always been a big inspiration in my life.

Your songs are a blend of Afro-pop/Soul/RnB. Why did you choose this genre of music?
Actually, my music is called Afro-soul. It’s a blend of African sound and language with soul music. I grew up listening to soul music so it defined the path I eventually chose.

You got married recently. How have you been able to joggle your career and marriage?
It’s been quite easy and I would say beautiful. The fact that there has always been understanding and love makes it easy to juggle. For me, it’s like having to do my job and getting a lot of support doing it.

What challenges do you face in your career?
Alternative music in Nigeria is still growing unlike the pop music and afrobeat sound. It is quite challenging trying to push and make my kind of music more acceptable, competing for more airplays, but one thing that stands out for me is that, great music sells and is always evergreen. My music will always remain fresh in people’s minds and last forever.

As a graduate of Political science, why did you choose to go into music?
Yes I studied political science and it was an interesting course but like I said, music has always been my passion so I went with what makes me happy.

Who are your role models in the industry?
I have a lot of role models both internationally and around Africa and Nigeria. They are India Arie, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lauryn Hill, Asa, Miriam Makeba, Jill Scott, Ray Charles, and John Legend to mention a few.

The music industry seems to be dominated by men. How do you cope with this?
Well that was before. We have a lot of female artistes that are excellent in their craft and have even paved the way for other female artistes. The female artistes are competition for the male artistes. It’s balanced to a large extent. For me I focus on getting better and consistent in churning out music and building my fan base.

What made you decide to participate in Star Quest?
I wanted to showcase my talent, and see if people were going to value it. I needed an assurance in my talent both as an instrumentalist and vocalist.

What experience stood out for you from your participation in Star Quest?
I went into Star Quest as a saxophonist and I realized I was also as good a singer compared to others that came into the competition. With my group finishing 3rd runners-up, I felt encouraged to pursue my dream.

You have also done some collaboration as well as shared the stage with some big names in the industry. How do you feel about that?
Doing collaborations with an already established artiste is one thing I’m really grateful for. Because I see it as a way the already big artistes supports the upcoming ones and it’s a good thing, especially the fact that collaborations bring artistes together to fuse their different styles of music together into one sound. And as for sharing the stage with great artiste is humbling and challenges me as a person to work harder to become one of the greatest.

Is there an album and what we should be expecting from you?
Yes there is an album I am working on and I am recording a lot and hopefully by next year. There would be lots of surprises and great songs on the album.

You were nominated in the upcoming Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA) Female Artiste of the Year 2015 Award alongside Yemi Alade, Seyi Shay, Cynthia Morgan, Di’ja and EVA. How do you feel about it?
Everyone in that category is a great and extremely talented artiste. They are all very hardworking and successful. I feel honoured and grateful to be nominated alongside them. I was shocked, excited and overwhelmed. It made me feel that I was recognized for works considering the other artistes I was nominated along with.

Since becoming a celebrity, what aspect of your former life do you miss most?
I would say I’m pretty much still myself and nothing much has changed. But I miss being able to do a few random things. I’m always watchful and very careful.

What advice do you have for upcoming artistes, especially to the females?
My advice to young female artistes is to pray, be determined and work hard. Nothing good comes easy and there will be challenges. And also be patient. Work on yourself and be humble.
Would you ever give up your career for a white collar job if the opportunity comes?
Never because I love what I do. I chose it and it chose me for a reason.

PoliticsReno Omokri Breaks Silence, Wants “baby Factories” Allowed by busyflexz(op): 11:17am On Aug 09, 2015
A former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has expressed displeasure over crackdown on “baby factories” in the country, saying the practice should be allowed by government.
Mr. Omokri, the founder of the Mind of Christ Christian Centre in California, said calling the practice baby factory is stigmatization as it should be called surrogate motherhood.
“Every civilized nation accepts and promotes this practice as a humane option for childless couples,” he said an opinion article sent to PREMIUM TIMES Sunday.
Mr. Omokri, a pastor, wondered why Nigeria did not legalize a practice that brings succour to childless couple.
“I have been appalled reading about the raids on so called ‘Baby Factories’ in the media lately. These raids are a throwback to the Salem Witch Trials and I cannot believe that in Nigeria of the 21st Century we are stigmatizing what is an acceptable world wide culture that has brought hope to childless couples all over the world,’ he said in the article.
The former presidential aide continued, “For the avoidance of doubt, these women are surrogate mothers who have children for childless couples. Every civilized nation accepts and promotes this practice as a humane option for childless couples.
“The main reason many childless couples prefer a surrogate mother is because they want to know about the family history and genetics of the mother of their unborn child.
“In many cases, when you adopt a child without knowing who the parents are and there arises a need in future for a blood transfusion or an organ donor, many adoptive parents get stuck. Other medical issues like cancer, or behavioral issues like autism and ADD/ADHD are better diagnosed and treated if you have family history, which is not possible with anonymous adoptions. So, the idea of surrogate motherhood fills this gap.
“In Europe and the Americas as well as in Asia, surrogate mothers are well sought after and advertisements are placed in bus stations, newspapers, on the underground as well as on the Internet seeking out such women. I have included one such advert in this piece.
“Tens of thousands of surrogate children are born each year in the Americas and even more in Europe. Anyone who has ever experienced childlessness either directly or indirectly through a relative, extended family or friend is likely to appreciate the role surrogate mothers play in bringing succor to such families. To ostracize them and tag them ‘Baby Factories’ is most unfortunate indeed.”

ronald4lif:
Spot on. Good guys are quite boring and always seek to please women. They accede to all their demands and hardly rejects any of their request in their bid to satisfy them and preserve the relationship.

But unbeknown to them women aren't attracted to guys who possess such character. They are rather swayed by men who possesses dominative attitude and who deprecates their overzealous attitude and rebuff their expectations/requests.

A man's best bet is to stay in-between and display conflicting signals when in a relationship. Be a gentle man and show you care but never at any point tolerate any offensive attitude and always oppugn a woman's excesses.

Romance11 Reason Why Good Guys Never Get Good Girls by busyflexz(op): 5:54pm On Aug 06, 2015
Well, for reasons not far-fetched; most men are categorized into two groups, the bad guys and the good guys. This may not be true as we believe that the ideal man is one that walks a fine line between the two groups.

A lot of women say they want a good and nice guy but usually end up dating the bad guys (same way men want the simple ladies but end up dating the “complicated” ones). And this is why it is usually so.

1 Their Personalities Don’t Seem Genuine

The good guys appear too nice and good to be true. Ladies seem to think no one can be that nice unless they’re saintly or from heaven. Truth is the good guys are most times being busy acting too nice than being themselves. The natural instincts of women is to be cautious of this. The bad boys most times keep it real while the nice guys try as much as they may not to upset the ladies.

2 They Don’t Have Self-Respect!

Nice guys don’t have set boundaries as they would go all the way to please the ladies just as they fail to make any real demands from the ladies. On the other hand, a bad boy would really not allow a woman dictate the pace of the relationship or control him in anyway. Often times, women don’t respect men they can control and when they don’t respect you, they can’t be attracted to you.

3 They’re so Predictable Which Is quite Boring!

Truth is a lot of people actually live lives that are boring and predictable which makes them attracted to their opposites who are mostly fun filled, unpredictable and exciting. This is exactly what makes bad boys challenging and the nice guys not challenging. Added to the fact that the nice guys lack excitement and fun, a lot of ladies would rather opt for the bad guys.

4 Loving Bad Boys Is Part Of The Female Genes

Women are made in a way that nurturing is part of their DNA. They nurture almost everything around them from children to family. They also often end up doing it with bad boys because they think living them would save and rescue them from their bad ways. On the other hand, women feel the nice guys rarely need saving as they are often times on the right path.

5. Women Like To Feel Needed

Everyone loves to feel needed and women are no exception. Most of the time, women see bad guys as people that need “fixing” and they usually end up making them their project. Some women are of the opinion that if they can create their ideal man, he won’t be able to leave them. Such women also feel that by helping to fix people around them, they are distracted from focusing on things that require fixing in their own lives.

6. Their Sperm Is Weak

Biologically, women are made to strive to procreate with the strongest genes available. Bad guys send messages unconsciously that their genes are the best available ones and as such are not scared of losing any woman or misbehaving whereas nice guys send messages that their genes are not good enough and as such, they won’t misbehave.

7. They Have A Fear Of intimacy

When a woman has the fear of being intimate or committed, she subconsciously feels that a bad boy won’t want commitment and she won’t have to be that close to him for that to happen. A good guy would eventually want intimacy and commitment which would be scary for her.

8. They Sometimes Have Low Self-Esteem

Most people aren’t comfortable being around people who treat them better than they treat themselves. If you’re one that doesn’t think much of yourself, the bad boy only reinforces your negative perception of yourself. A good guy on the other hand treats a lady in a way she’s not familiar with and that fact scares her.

9. The Sex Isn’t As Mind-Blowing

Ladies seem to think that good guys won’t be that good in bed. Ladies sometimes want to be manhandled in bed and they feel nice guys won’t be able to take charge and fulfil their fantasies. A bad boy looks like one that will be able to get the job done even though this may not always be the case.

10. Bad Boys Are Totally Sexy

It is quite hard to see a bad boy who isn’t handsome or sexily hot.
