FCT Youths for Tinubu and Kashim Solidarity is a movement that tend to eradicate the division amongst Youths in FCT. We all know how the Muslim/Muslim tickets has caused confusion in the political sphere. Our main objectives is to educate people on the unity of purpose, we should put aside ethnic and religion differences aside if we really want our country to move forward. A very big thank yoh to the Grand patron of this movement, the person of Abdulsalam Yahaya Ahmed and the National Deputy Youths leader and the FCT coordinator Engr. Hon. Abdullahi Suleiman |
Robert Lewandowski has been announced as the winner of FIFA's 'The Best' award at a virtual ceremony in Zurich. He defends the title he won last year. Robert Lewandowski has won The Best. The Polish footballer, who plays for Bayern Munich, has won the award for the second time in his career seeing off Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah in the final shortlist. 33 year-old Lewandowski netted 48 goals in all competitions in the 2020-21 season at Bayern and 41 of those were in the Bundesliga. That broke the previous record set by the late Gerd 'Torpedo' Muller. Lewandowski has continued his sensational goalscoring form this season as he has got 25 goals in his 19 appearances for the German side so far. His 41 goals in the Bundesliga last season were 13 ahead of nearest challenger Andre Silva of Eintracht Frankfurt. He also got seven assists in the competition. As well as winning the Bundesliga, Lewandowski lifted the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Tigres 1-0 in the final and won the German Super Cup after beating Dortmund 3-1 away from home. As well as shining for his club, Lewandowski has had some terrific performances for his country this year. He got a brace and an assist in the recent World Cup qualifier over Andorra and he did the same against San Marino in another World Cup qualifiying game. The Poles are in the qualifying play-offs where they will take on Russia. At the Euros, Lewandowski also got a brace versus Sweden and a goal versus Spain. Unlike the Ballon D'Or, which judges performances over a calendar year, The Best looks at performances over a season, in this case the 2020-21 campaign. An "intternational jury" of journalists, national team coaches and captains as well as supporters, all get the chance to have their say. Lewandowski's win means he is equal to Cristiano Ronaldo when it comes to overall The Best victories while it is a setback for Messi who has now gone two years without winning it. https://www.besoccer.com/new/official-lewandowski-wins-2021-the-best-1091281

Elites of Sabon Birni Local Government Area under the auspices of Gobir Development Association have written President Muhammadu Buhari over the constant killings of their people by terrorists. The letter came 24 hours after bandits had ambushed a vehicle conveying some seasonal migrants at Gidan Bawa Village in the local government, set it on fire and watched the passengers burn to death. Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal while condoling with the families of the victims said 23 passengers were confirmed dead by the combined security agencies. The 23 victims were buried on Wednesday. The leaders in the letter on Wednesday said they “felt scandalised, traumatised and demoralised by the constant butchering” of their people by the terrorist groups operating in three local governments in Sokoto East Senatorial Districts: Isa, Sabon Birni and Goronyo as well as Shinkafi Local Government in Zamfara. The letter read, “The above communities are daily attacked by terrorists, the most popular bandit Bello Turji and his boys who operate with brazen impunity, killing, maiming, raping and destroying our people and their means of livelihood, for no apparent reason. “Their impunity has become so brazen to the extent of imposing themselves as rulers and expropriating anything they fancy from the people including but not limited to cash taxes, food supply, drugs and sometimes their maidens. “Your Excellency, we have earlier on written a similar complaint after a gory incident that occurred at Garki Village, 5 kilometres away from Sabo Birni, where over 80 people were gruesomely murdered in cold blood in a single night. “At that time we were so awe strike that we hardly had time to bury the dead bodies when the murderous terrorists struck again in another village about 10 kilometres away from there, known as Dakwaro, followed in quick succession by Gajit, Lajinge, Tarah, Unguwar Lalle, Kurawa, Gangara, Garin Idi and virtually every village around the axis leaving behind in their trail blood, tears smoke, ashes and shouldered farmlands.” The leaders promised to accord the security agencies all necessary assistance in discharging their duties. Meanwhile, bandits loyal to Turji have vowed to stop villagers from deserting their communities because of the levy imposed on them, Daily Trust has gathered. It was gathered that the constant attack on travellers along Sabon Birni-Isa-Shinkafi Road was part of their plan to prevent the exodus of the villagers. Daily Trust had reported how the bandits imposed levies on over 80 communities in Sabon Birni Local Government Area last month. A resident of Sabon Birni who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed how that road had been littered with burnt vehicles as a result of bandits’ attacks. “There are over 10 burnt vehicles along that road. Some of the passengers were killed, some abducted and some sustained injuries,” the source said. Editor’s note: The picture used for this story is from the fresh attack where 23 migrants were killed. |
The question that keep popping on my head anytime i hear about this lekki drama is "where is are the families of these deceased people" like no genuine family that came to point out that there family member is missing |
No Nigerian will argue that bandits have been a bone in the throat of Northern Nigeria. They have killed and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira. According to a report by Punch, the Senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, Ibrahim Gobir, had an interview with them. During the interview, he revealed a lot about banditry in the North. Recall that Senator Gobir is the one that moved the motion on the floor of the Senate that bandits should be proscribed as terrorists. These are four takeaway lessons he revealed about banditry in the North. 1. More than 600,000 people have been killed by bandits in the North. Senator Gobir does not hold back, he revealed the number of people that have been killed by bandits in the past years. He said in his Constituency, bandits have killed over 50,000 people and over 600,000 people in the North. The Senator said no community in Sokoto East has not been attacked in one way or the other, which is an indication that banditry is still flourishing as a business in the North. 2. Bandits are now using Telecommunications networks from the Niger Republic.Since the total shutdown of telecommunication satellites in the states of Zamfara and Katsina, and the subsequent shutdown in Sokoto, bandits have devised means to communicate with their sponsors and collaborators by using the neighboring Niger Republic network for communication. A reason the Senator said the bandits are now in his Constituency is because of the proximity with the Niger Republic. 3. There is a lack of coordination in the military onslaughts. The Senator pointed out that there is a lack of coordination in the military, he made it known that the military need to consider all the frontline areas like Niger, Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto states and carry out operations in all these areas simultaneously so that bandits cannot escape from either of the five states to another. Due to this lack of coordination, the bandits are running away from states where there is a heavy military presence to areas that are safe for them. 4. Residents should bear arms Gobir advocated for a situation whereby residents would bear arms to protect themselves if the military were already overwhelmed. He said people should be allowed to protect themselves but he fear it will be chaotic if they are forced to own and carry sophisticated guns for their protection and self-defense because the only difference between people and bandits is AK-47. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkrHcitpeDk

Eid al Adha. Feast of sacrifice, also called Eid Qurban or Bakra Eid. is the second of the two islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each yeah. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God's command. But before Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, God provided him a lamb to sacrifice instead. In commendation to this intervention, an animal usually a sheep, is sacrificed spiritually. One third of the sheep/ram is consumed by the family offering the sacrifice while the rest is offered to the poor and needy. Sweet and gifts are given, and extended family are visited and welcomed Barka De Sallah my Nairalanders.. cc Lalasticala |

[Chukwuemerie Uduchukwu Wrote: My Igbo brothers that are killing themselves about the appointments made so far by President Buhari are just funny. Aside the fact that we Igbos shouldn’t expect sensitive appointments from him because many of us hate him without any justifiable reason and no smart politician will give such positions to his ‘enemies’, what did all our brothers that occupied sensitive positions recently achieved for our geopolitical zone? Recall that Igbos recently occupied head positions in Central Bank and Ministry of Finance. Also, an Igbo was recently appointed Secretary to Government of the federation, Minister of power, Minister of Solid Minerals, Head of Due Process unit, Minister of Education, Minister of Aviation, Executive Director of Nigerian Communications Commission, Chief of Army Staff, Inspector General of Police, Senate President, Deputy Senate President and Deputy speaker of house of Representatives. Also recently, an Igbo was appointed the Director General of National Broadcasting Commission. The question is what did all those Igbo appointees achieved for Ndi Igbo? Even Goodluck Jonathan that you foolishly accepted as your brother during his days in Aso Rock achieved nothing for you when he was the President. If appointments can dictate how a region should develop, Southeast would have been a paradise by now because our brothers occupied almost all the sensitive positions recently. Another thing Igbos should understand is that the federal character principle they are quoting as their basis of argument is the greatest enemy of Nigeria especially Igbos. This principle champions the promotion of tribal mindsets instead of meritocracy in Nigeria as Nigerians are always after the state of origin of every federal appointee and prospective candidates for admissions instead of their performance. It is because of same federal character that a provision was made for ‘Education less developed’ states which always make it possible for indigenes of those states to be giving more and cheaper consideration during admissions and recruitment in order to promote equity in line with the federal character. This is Rubbish! Such has caused situations whereby somebody from Anambra or Imo will score average of about 260 in JAMB UTME and POST-UTME but will be denied admission while somebody from states like Zamfara, Ebonyi or Bayelsa will score average of about180 and will be admitted in order to achieve the so called equity in intellectual distribution among all the states in line with same federal character. Same federal character is the reason why instead of criticising the performance ability of appointees, Nigerians especially Igbos will only be interested in their states of origin. Federal character is evil. This is the hour of change and it must be jettisoned! If Nigeria must progress, we must do away with federal character and state of origin provisions and encourage meritocracy and state of residence. I don’t care where appointees come from, all I want is excellent performance. If the wailing Igbos like they should continue hating Buhari while the Niger- Deltans are busy consolidating their region and supporting his government. At last Igbos will remain the wailing loosers. It baffles me the way some of my Igbo brothers are hating Buhari without any justifiable reason. Even the Niger- Deltans that are more closer to the failed government of Goodluck Jonathan always acknowledge that he betrayed them, but the Igbos that are not in any way brothers to the failed President are killing themselves and even their conscience with baseless sentiments. Also, I have expected these misguided Igbos to understand that the Niger- Deltans who they foolishly took as their brothers during the elections are not at any point with them. These Niger-Deltans have understood that they can't make any political achievement in Nigeria without the cooperation of other tribes, and wisely began to issue their supports and cooperation to the Buhari led government while the misguided Igbos are still enslaving themselves with baseless sentiments. Believe it or not, political appointments are catalysed by intelligent lobbying and not unnecessary hatred. No smart politician will appoint his haters to sensitive positions. I will never blame Buhari if he fails to appoint any Igbo to key positions. I am proud of Niger-Deltans and they are already reaping the fruits of their wisdom. Igbos should have a rethink!quote author=Ptimes post=37566509] http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/189383-buhari-sued-over-lopsided-appointments.html[/quote] |
