The Obafemi Awolowo University held her 51st Matriculation on Tuesday 30th, April, 2013 as 5,501 “champions and victors” went through the mandatory oath taking rite.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Bamitale Omole described the new students as “champions and victors who, like the proverbial camel, passed through the eyes of the needle.”
According to the VC, “out of the 79, 809 candidates that made OAU their choice, only 39, 632 candidates was able topass the UTME examination and out of these, only 5, 501 passed the post-UTME and eventually got admitted. This is about 12.5 per cent of those who sat for the post-UTME”.
The VC advised the new students to refrain from anyact that is capable of extending their stay in the university beyond the normalduration of their different courses.”The oath is sacrosanct and warned thatthis could be used against any erring student if he or she violates rules and regulations of the university during the course of their studies.”
The VC specifically appealed to the students to channel their grievances to the appropriate quarters through dialogue and shun any violent demonstration or confrontation with the authority.
He, therefore, called on the students to be good ambassadors of their respective families, localitiesand states. He explained that OAU is just like an incubating stage of leadership preparing the students for the mission ahead.

GodzBELOVED: People say it is hard to enter OAU. And I wonder, those studying various courses in OAU, do they have two heads? Do they all have connections? Or do they have a sort of tag on them that differentiates them from others? Is it not hard to enter other federal universities?

u didn't see the essence of the serial no. Stamped on the question paper until the exam started..u sat next to a guy that was writing the same Question Type say type D, as u were in the Mathematics Section and what u noticed was that despite the fact the Type D was similar/same type yet the arrangement of d options/answers was still different. (surprised ryt?). That only shows how you important d serial number is.
pray that your result wont be a mess up. till Saturday, we shall see whether i m saying the truth or not.
