In this hilarious animated comic webisode, Mazi Fecko gets interrogated by the Nigerian Army in Abia state for allegedly wearing a fake "Guchi" cloth - misinterpreted to be associated with the IPOB movement. It's a conscious comedy skit that paints a vivid picture of what's going on in South Eastern Nigeria as regards the rekindled Biafran struggle. Overall, the important message here is that peace and unity pays off. Youtube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeJNUKyUs54 |

Fecko recently teamed up with veteran Nigerian artiste/producer, Pherowshuz, on a EP. The project which is still in the production phase will feature a collection of great songs - fusing various genres together. The first official song taken off the EP is titled 'Jofunmi', entirely performed by Fecko while it was produced, mixed and mastered by Pherowshuz. 'Jofunmi' is a feel good song which urges the ladies to dance and basically have fun. The indigenous funky sound is a blend of melodic rap and afro pop. It has been a little more than three weeks since Kendrick Lamar released the single titled Humble off his album titled Damn (which dropped last week) and I was kind of shocked that no one had popped up with a freestyle over the instrumental till now. Nigerian rapper Fecko has dropped his own version of the song titled Ogbeni Joko (which means sit down) and it features his trademark witty bars in a mixture of English, Pidgin and Igbo over the Humble instrumental. He also made a 2D animated video for the song by himself. Now that's talent and passion! After watching Bad Baddo Baddest, I need to update that list. Cool video. |
In other news, FELA MUST RISE is currently on MTN Yello Top 10 Countdown underground buzz segment. Y'all need to watch Fecko perform this song live at an event. Always lit. ![]() |

I can't remember the first Nigerian Hiphop video I watched this year, but I know I have seen couple of great visuals for some sick Hiphop songs by various Nigerian rappers. In no particular order, my favorite Nigerian Hiphop videos for 2016 include: Jesse Jagz - Nigerian Gangsta Zoro - Ogene M.I - Everything Fecko x Teck-Zilla - Fela Must Rise Falz - Bad Baddo Baddest ft Olamide and Davido Wish I know any cool video by a Nigerian female rapper that could make my list. Please feel free to drop yours. |
Surprisingly he signed a rapper. The song sounds cool though. |
Zone Out Sessions is a hiphop web series dedicated to showcase some of the best talents in Nigerian rap music. I have been following them for a while and I get impressed each time I watch any episode. The latest episode features budding Nigerian emcee, FECKO, and he murked it. So who has seen the controversial video excerpt from The Gist On Hip TV (Hosted by Emmanuel Ugolee)? Funny how Ikechukwu threw jabs at Vector and claimed his 2hours freestyle on radio wasn't extraordinary. First it was Fecko, now Killz? ![]() I admire VEC's dauntlessness though. His reply to Killz was spot on. Illbliss was just relaxed and observing the melodrama. Lol. I recall Vector replied Fecko's sub by saying "The 2 hours freestyle has been done and forgotten." So I wonder why he had to bring that up again. |
emarketer1:Yes o. That would be totally cool if Fecko can pull that off. In the meantime, anticipating a video. ![]() |

DoubleSixMUZIK:Yes. It's a potential hit song (if well promoted). |
Hardworking Nigerian artist, Fecko, decides to make a major come back just few months after his project with Teck-Zilla in "A.R.T" EP. The rapper switch things up once again with an indigenous Nigerian wedding-oriented song titled "FINALLY" produced by S.T.O Beats. Fecko, strolled away from his known genre to deliver a urban high life, RnB and a little bit of rap infused single.FINALLY" which is totally dance worthy. FINALLY is groovy, enjoyable and a song that should be added to your Valentine Playlist. Download here https://my.notjustok.com/track/download/id/66561

The sound system at most events are messed up. Some our Nigerian artistes consciously lip sync because they don't want to get disappointed by the mic or sound engineer. |
jojothaiv:LOL. Well we also have female Hiphop enthusiasts in Africa. Heard of LesLee Kasumba from SA and DJ Naija from Zimbabwe? I just love music, irrespective of the genre. Thumbs up to you too. Thought NL users only replied threads that had to do with Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Davido's Baby Mama Drama and whatnot. LOL. |
jojothaiv:In my opinion, Beef made A.K.A and Cassper put out a lotta music last year. Competition keeps you on your toes. And about Ola Dips, I feel Reminisce signed him because he is more indigenous with his lyricism and delivery, compared to Blaqbones, who reminds me of a younger Ruggedy Baba. Taking shots has nothing to do with an artiste remaining unsigned. What keeps them underground is their inability to be versatile, make good music (not just battle raps) and keeping it consistent. jojothaiv:Echo is good. His new EP is a master piece. Phlow impressed me on Fecko's A.R.T EP (another project heads are sleeping on). However, Phlow is a femcee while Eva is a musician. Both of them shouldn't be compared. |
jojothaiv:Speaking about A-Q, yes, I recall he also took shots at Fecko on The Prayer, but got no reply. I don't know if they've squashed their beef though. In a recent interview on Unilag FM, Fecko claimed he's cool with V.E.C.Not sure if Vector feels the same way. jojothaiv:At least the male hip-hop artistes are giving us good music and something to talk about unlike my female folks in the industry. Eva promised to release an EP in January 2015, and this is January 2016 and she is yet to drop 1960. If beef and throwing of jabs will make Nigerian hiphop more interesting this year, well I don't have a problem with that. ![]() |
Apart from YCee, it seems FECKO, who recently worked with Modenine on his new A.R.T EP, took jabs at VEC and the King Kong didn't hesitate to reply via Twitter. "None of your bars amaze me/If you like freestyle for two hours lyrically you're still a baby" - the purported sub from FECKO on a track titled 'On The Bible' If you recall, Vector freestyled for 2 hours on Rhythm 93.7Fm some time ago. Could this be another beef cooking up in the kitchen? LOL Download and listen to the daring track that sparked the controversy https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/241854403/download?client_id=02gUJC0hH2ct1EGOcYXQIzRFU91c72Ea&oauth_token=1-138878-197022800-cdb19755f4e1e

emarketer1:Oh okay. Will check out the video. Thanks. |
EeonGedes:Nice. Two of my favorite rappers made a guest appearance. TR and Fecko are good at dropping enjoyable bars that still sound deep. ![]() |
