Dear house,I have little issues that has been bothering my brain and though of posting it and see if any one has an advise at least.
My interview is scheduled for next week but my dad has travelled and there is no way i could get his bank statement because he is not coming home like soonest but he had already printed a bank statement for me like earlier last month when i thought i was suppose to get an early date but i failed so i just thought if its possible i get hold of the old bank statement which was the one i printed early last month and present it to the VO otherwise,i cant get another bank statement until my dad gets back.

Secondly,i already filled the DS 160 form since last month and i just got another updated i-20 because the first one already got expired due to the fact that i couldn't get an early date.Is it possible for me to re fill another DS 160 for online since the initial travel date i filled wouldn't be possible.


Please house i need an help @ this time.

Me: Good morning
VO: Good morning, what are you going to do in the US?
Me: I am going for my Masters in Business Administration at the University of xxxxxxxxx
VO: Why MBA?
Me: It fits my career goal
VO: Did u apply to other schools?
Me: Yes, I did
VO: Which schools?
Me: I named the 3 other schools
VO: Did u write the GRE?
Me: Yes
VO: What were your scores?
ME: I mixed up the scores for the verbal and quantitative but quickly corrected it and told him.
VO: Where do u work?
Me: I work with ......I said the abbreviation of my coy and quickly said the full name of my coy cos I wasn't sure if he would be able to relate with that.
VO: How long have you been there?
Me: 5yrs an 4months
VO: What is your role? What do you do there?
Me: I am in Risk Mgt, and said specifically what area of risk mgt i was working in
VO: What will the MBA do for you?
Me: The MBA will help me take up mgt roles/positions especially in Risk Mgt.
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My Aunt
Vo: hat does your aunt do?
Me: She imports .........and sells them in both wholesale and retail
VO: ....starts tearing the green slip and says ........ you are good to go since the 30day period is in your favour. You will go to Lekki on Monday to collect your visa. Thank you.
Me: Thank you, excited......starts thinking of lie to tell at the office for coming in an hour late. ........not yet time to apply for my study leave.....till i have my passport back!

i attached my i-20 and when i called them,they stated i was denied the emergency date because i have used the emergency option before and i got denied visa.

rowlandoo: cant understand , they gave you the green ticket at the embassy and you got denied at the vfs office , Due to your i-20 ? IF GOT IT RITE . please explain .

Up till now,i have tried gettin an appointment date but the Trickling thingy aint Trickling anything oooo...My current date is 10th August and my school resumes August 6.Is there anything that could be done so i could get a early date as i have tried emergency request and it was denied and i have called them several times,they keep telling me they will opt me once there is available date and i think i have shared my last experience at June when i went for appointment and i was given the green ticket to pick up my visa at VSF office and then i later received a message from them and i only got to know i was Denied after i got my passport due to the fact that my I-20 got expired already and the school has a strong policy.
Please house do check and see if there is anymore i could do to get an early date.

Anika Shiloh: Yay! I and hubby got our visas yesterday(10th) @ Lagos. It was God all the way through.

7.30am appointment. At the first spot before entering where they check and arrange the docs in ur passport, the lady there said we should go together to be interviewed together since we r married and in same sch, same course. So we did.

There was a guy @ window 3 that was refusing almost everyone and he was the only one free wen our number was next but he got called away, returned, went away... he was just busy till another guy was free @ window 7 - we were so glad.

Hubby: Good afternoon
VO: (smiles and says Good Morning)

VO: Both going for F1 (wondering y he is interviewing us together - yet to change my name)
Hubby: We are married (was bringing out the marriage certificate but the VO waived not to bother)

VO (@ me): Where do you work and what do you do there?
Me: I am a medical Doctor. Work @ ... School Clinic. Attend to ill students and staff. liaise with the LGA for immunizations for under fives, organise health seminars regularly for the students and staff

VO: So, y do u wanna study MPH?
Me: Most pxs of the diseases could be prevented. Public health is a field that deals with promoting and protecting the health of a population. thus want to gain knowledge that would help me improve the health of a large group of people at a time is my aim

VO (@ hubby): What school and wen did u graduate?
hubby: Col of Med, Unilag 2007

VO: How did you know about UAB and Y did u choose it.
Hubby: Through the SOPHAS website. Course content in dept @ UAB suits well in the track of public health I'm interested in (then explained how the field is to his current job) and my course advisor does research in that field with projects in Nigeria.

VO: Wen is school resuming
Both: August 15th

VO: Did you write GRE
Both: Yes

VO: Who's ur sponsor?
Me: My brother is sponsoring us both

VO: What does he do?
Me: Comp scientist and web programmer, top nigerian site (told him name so he could check up if he wanted), partnership with Google

VO then starts typing on his computer. Hubby had brought all his documents out of the file ready to show any but the VO did not even request to see any document

VO: (tears the green ticket) come pick visa...

It was just God.

sha_money: I mailed them again early dis mornin ang called them by 7.30am dis mornin prompt. De asked for my passport number. I called back in 15mins and d lady said she just worked on it nw and I check again I saw like a range of 7days from 16th to 24tg to choose from,I chose 23rd simple.just follow it u can get a dt within 45mins of requestin emergency date.

walex57: yeah u can choose to auti reshedule u again...dat was wat i did, go to ur portal and click on cancel appointment ( but dnt cancel it ooo) it will ask u again to confirm cancellation....just scroll down and u'll see an option which says if u want auto reschedule again u shld check the box beside it...check d box and click ok...it'll auto reshedule u wen a space appears...but don't cancel ur 10th appointment oooo...juz do as i told u...all da best...i was auto resheduled after 30 minutes to july 2nd...so pray

i just went to the portal and i saw the option(Auto reschedule)which i already did but i only found opt in after that aside from the cancellation option underneath.Should i click opt in?I can only see the cancellation option den underneath,i can Yes Or No!Which should i click after i already clicked the box.

Dear house,i applied for an emergency request and i was denied but initially,i picked 22 of Aug and i clicked the Auto schedule option and a mail came in and i was scheduled for 10th but my school resumes 6th of August so its still late.
Do you guys think the auto date option could still automatically reschedule me after just once?otherwise i wouldn't be able to apply.
Please help me out anyone who has had that kind of experience before.

imperiouxx: If you are going for BS/MS/PhD you have to pay under academic. Isn't that what you are coming for?

I made a mistake while i wanted to make payment for my visa fee today.I was suppose to pay for non-academic/vocational but i made a mistake and paid for academic.but they tend to be the same amount.Do you think this will cause any confusion or not.Please help me as the gtb staff told me it shouldnt be a problem at all.I need to know.

My visa was approved today by 12noon.
No GRE and with a low Toefl score of 72.
They collected my intl. Passport and I-20 form. Is the vo supposed to collect my form I-20 as well?
I will post the full details when I reach home

In summary, the advisory cautions consular officials to judge a student visa applicant based on his present intent and NOT on a future intent to migrate. I think what it tells us is that even consular officers are not as high and mighty as we might erroneously perceive them to be. They are not demi - gods, they are subject to the law!
