Politics / KIDNAPPING: Gunmen Kidnap Octogenarian Father Of Benue Oil Deale by byteHead(m): 10:56am On Jul 30, 2015

Gunmen believed to be kidnappers have abducted the octogenarian father of an oil dealer and businessman, Chief Athanisius Atser Kyausu, popularly known as Kyabiz.

The aged man, Papa Atser Kyausuin, was abducted by the kidnappers from his residence in Vandeikya local government area of the state last Saturday at about 9pm.

The state police command yesterday stormed the kidnappers’ hideout located in Asue community of Vandeikya LGA and arrested the kidnappers. The commissioner of police, CP Hyacinth Dagala paraded the suspects yesterday.

The three suspects, Terfa Terkura, Kwaghfan Apeaka and one Aondona told newsmen at the police command in Makurdi that they committed the crime. Two others had escaped.

The victim said the kidnappers came to his home on motorbike and covered his face before they took him to an unknown destination.

The son of the victim, Chief Kyabiz, said the daredevil abductors had called him on telephone, demanding a ransom of N20million but that he could not offer it because he did not have the money.

The commissioner of police further said a locally made pistol, two battle axes, one Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number AE 328 GUA and other items were recovered from them.

Education / HND Will Soon Be Changed To Bachelor Of Technology – JAMB Registrar by byteHead(m): 8:53am On Jul 30, 2015

The Registrar/Chief Executive of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde has said President Muhammadu Buhari is willing to implement the waver that will end the Bsc and HND dichotomy.

Buhari had received the updated report on the Bsc and HND controversy, which was presented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, MacJohn Nwaobiala last Tuesday.

Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, Ojerinde recalled that the last administration set up a committee to look at how the two could be merged.

Continuing he said, “The system has not given adequate vision for the other levels of education. We have not encouraged technical education, we have not encouraged Teachers education also; in fact, we have not encouraged agricultural education to the extent that everybody feels that the only way to survive is to go to the University.

“The only way to make it is to have a degree; so I am saying we should revisit our system, we should look at why candidates don’t want to go to polytechnics, and we should look at why they don’t want teachers’ education; we should also revisit why they don’t want agriculture.

“By our experience, most people will like to study law, engineering, medicine, accountancy, these are the top courses been sought for in the universities; nobody wants to study education. So, I see we have problem in that area and I am sure the Federal Ministry of Education is trying to solve that problem.

“First of all Technical Education, there’s dichotomy between Bachelors degree and National Diploma or Higher National Diploma, (HND). It was one of the things presented to Mr. President to find a way of implementing the waiver of the dichotomy between HND and the Bsc degree. The so called HND should now be changed to Btech which means Bachelor of Technology.

“Former President Musa Yar’Adua may his soul rest in peace, said he doesn’t have any problem with Btech. Unfortunately, government also has not sorted this entire problem. And there are such cases of people like me in this country, I wouldn’t have been able to read, I wouldn’t have been able to go to school. So what I am saying is, government should look at how we can improve technical education.

“Let me refer to what Oby Ezekwensili the former Minister of Education said, she was determined to implement Btech in our Technical System, college of Education. All this places should be well equipped for Btech.

“Four colleges of Education have been upgraded to universities of Education, you will see the rush into those universities now because they can now get bachelor’s degree. And when they come to the public, they will not be a push away. So this is where we are, I think if I go by what we saw on Wednesday, President Buhari and the Vice President listened and they were interested in what we presented”.

Politics / Former Petroleum Minister Diezani Playing The Sick Car - Sahara Reporters by byteHead(m): 1:19pm On Jul 28, 2015

As to emerge of the billions of dollars of public funds that Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, stole with the help of cohorts she handpicked, the embattled former minister is apparently playing the sick card in the United Kingdom where she has spent most of her time since ex-President Goodluck Jonathan lost his reelection bid.
In recent days, several online media have reported that Ms. Alison-Madueke was critically sick in a London hospital. However, two sources in the UK who are quite conversant with the former minister’s physical condition told SaharaReporters today that her condition had not deteriorated, contrary to media reports.

One of the sources went as far as suggesting that the ex-Petroleum Minister might be orchestrating the reports about her grave ill health as a strategy to attract public sympathy as well as official leniency from President Muhammadu Buhari who has received extensive intelligence from US authorities detailing the extent of Ms. Alison-Madueke’s looting of petro-dollars under the watch of Mr. Jonathan.

One of our UK sources disclosed that the beleaguered former minister recently concluded a course of treatment for cancer, adding that she is not hospitalized in London as being touted by some members of her family.

Another source revealed that he and others were in touch with the former minister as recently as yesterday. “She is definitely not in an ICU [intensive care unit] as I understand that some press people have been reporting,” the source said. According to him, “All I know is that there is a fair amount of anxiety on her part about all the reports coming out about her management of the affairs of the oil sector. Perhaps this anxiety is translating into efforts to portray her as sicker than she is, in reality. That strategy is understandable, as a way of lessening public reaction to reports that are out there. And there’s considerable uncertainty about what [President] Buhari is going to do. So, yes, there’s an advantage to the reports [of her critical ill health], but I can tell you she’s not in any devastated shape. Far from it.”

A series of coordinated reports about Ms. Alison-Madueke’s ill health began to surface after SaharaReporters revealed that US officials handed a dossier of the former minister’s billion dollar fraudulent deals to President Muhammad Buhari during his visit last week to America.

Yesterday, in a move that corroborated our report, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State told reporters at the State House in Abuja that US officials informed Mr. Buhari that a Nigerian minister under President Jonathan stole as much as $6 billion from the Nigerian treasury. Even though Mr. Oshiomhole did not disclose the name of the minister involved, a source at the Presidency confirmed to SaharaReporters that Ms. Alison-Madueke was the minister in question. Governor Oshiomhole was the only governor in President Buhari’s delegation when he held a critical meeting with US Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, at Blair House in Washington, DC. Ms. Lynch, who is known to be tough on crime, especially international fraud, reportedly pledged US assistance to arrest and prosecute the former Petroleum Minister and others who have defrauded the Nigerian people provided that Mr. Buhari would take steps to identify and flush out corrupt judges from the Nigerian judiciary.

Mr. Oshiomhole said that US officials, who were astonished by the size of looting that took place under Mr. Jonathan’s administration, declared that the funds stolen by one minister were staggering even for an economy as big as that of the United States. The former Petroleum Minister was known to be extraordinarily close to Mr. Jonathan, who refused to remove her from his cabinet despite numerous credible reports of her illicit and corrupt deals.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Ms. Alison-Madueke had attempted to send emissaries to President Buhari offering to return $250 million from her loot in return for being shielded from prosecution. One of the associates she contacted is a northern governor known to be close to Mr. Buhari. A highly reliable source told SaharaReporters that Mr. Buhari rejected the offer, contending that he would uncover how much Ms. Alison-Madueke and her fronts looted from the Nigerian treasury. “Mr. President is not interested in settling for small change. He has sworn to the Nigerian people that he will recover the vast sums stolen by officials of past government, especially those of President Jonathan. He is determined to keep his pledge to the Nigerian people.”

Former Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, had accused the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), an agency under Ms. Alison-Madueke, of failing to deposit more than $20 billion of oil earnings at the CBN. Rather than launch a serious investigation, then President Jonathan ran to the former Petroleum Minister’s defense, and eased Mr. Sanusi out of his job at the CBN.

Fresh reports are surfacing of how Ms. Alison-Madueke used cohorts she handpicked to systematically deprive Nigerians of billions of dollars of oil revenues. Among the big players in her web of oil scams are Kogi-born businessman, Jide Omokore, Ben Peters, Igho Salome, and Kola Aluko. The mega scams the former minister pulled off with her trusted hands involved opulent acquisition of at least four private jets, a yacht, real estate in various world locations, including New York, Dubai, and London, and the transfer of huge sums to bank accounts operated by shadowy companies in Switzerland and several tax havens.

Ms. Alison-Madueke famously fell out with Mr. Aluko over the latter’s reported romantic involvement with ex-super model Naomi Campbell. It is believed that Mr. Aluko absconded with more than $1 billion that was in his custody as a result of shady transactions engineered and approved by the former Petroleum Minister.

Career / Joy FM Presenter Faces Sack Over Remark Against David Mark by byteHead(m): 11:24am On Jul 28, 2015
A top presenter with Joy FM, Otukpo Benue State is on the verge of losing his job for making a ‘careless’ comment about its owner, Senator David Mark.

DAILY POST gathered from a reliable insider that problem ensued during an interactive session with listeners recently, when a caller from Igbanonmaje area of the state complained about the deplorable state of a particular road linking the town.

The aggrieved caller said it was unfortunate that the road had been abandoned for years with no hope of reconstruction in sight.

It was gathered that the caller further complained of the embezzlement of funds meant for Rural Access Mobility Projects (RAMP), which consists 18 roads.

The caller specifically heaped the blame on the former Senate President, Mark, whom he claimed was behind the poor handling of the projects.

Innocently, the host of the show replied the caller by saying, “that is the situation in the country my brother; the rich keeps getting richer and the poor getting poorer.”

After the show, the presenter was summoned to the Manager’s office to explain the meaning of his comment.

“The manager blasted the presenter for agreeing to everything the caller said by complementing him with such sensitive statement.

“He was queried and surcharged for not protecting the interest of their principal on air.

“We shall know his fate by 31st of this month; but from what I gathered, the presenter is on his way out,” the insider claimed.

Efforts to reach the Managing Director of the station, Mrs. Christabel Iyanya could not yield any fruit as her numbers were switched off.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, (CP) Mr Fatai Owoseni, has appointed DSP Patricia Amadin as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command.

Amadin, who is occupying the position in acting capacity, replaces DSP Kenneth Nwosu, who has been redeployed to force headquarters, Abuja.

Nwosu presented the new spokesperson to reporters on Monday in Lagos.

He commended Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria members for the support given him during his six months tenure, urging them to extend same to the new spokesperson.

The outgoing spokesperson said his successor was his course mate in police academy.

Nwosu apologised to those he might have offended in the course of duty, saying that such action was not deliberate.

Responding, Amadin said her new office was a familiar terrain, as she had once worked as Deputy Police PRO in Lagos.

Amadin said she still observed the friendliness between the command and journalists assigned to cover its activities, calling for more cooperation.

“My calling as PPRO, Lagos command is to serve to promote the image of the command.

“I call on all journalists for assistance to enable me succeed.

“Journalists should endeavour to always confirm their stories with me to avoid ambiguity,’’ Amadin said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Amadin called for a minute silence for late Jude Isiguzo, a member with the Nation Newspaper who died in Nov. 2014, during a brief illness. (NAN)

Politics / Ebonyi Commissioner Nominee Is A Murder Suspect by byteHead(m): 5:56pm On Jul 27, 2015

On July 1, Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, swore in 18 new commissioners into office.
But one of the commissioner nominees, Sabinus Nwankwegu, the governor noted at the event, which took place at the International Conference Centre Abakaliki, was not sworn in because of security issues against him.
Mr. Umahi said he has set up a committee to look into the matter adding that the nominee will be sworn in if the committee clears him.
But PREMIUM TIMES investigation showed that Mr. Nwankwegu, a former Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State Assembly, is a murder suspect currently on trial.
Investigations revealed that Mr. Nwankwegu was arraigned alongside 21 others following a report by a judicial panel of inquiry set up by a former governor of the state, Sam Egwu, to look into the crisis in Oguzoronweya Autonomous Community in Ozibo Local Government Area, leading to the death of the traditional ruler, Innocent Nwodom in 2005.
The government white paper on the report of the judicial panel of inquiry dated September 2005 which was obtained exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES, indicted the former deputy speaker and recommended his immediate prosecution.
The judicial panel of inquiry was headed by Justice Elvis Ngene. The nine-man panel had representatives from the ministry of justice, State Security Service (SSS), Police, Traditional Rulers Council, etc.
The panel was inaugurated on February 23, 2005.
It had five terms of refrence which include: “To determine the remote and immediate causes of the crises that broke out in the community that led to the death of its traditional ruler Eze Innocent Nwodom.
“To identify the groups/individuals that are directly or indirectly involved in the crises leading to the death of the traditional ruler and recommend appropriate action.”
The panel, after its investigations, submitted its report in three separate volumes.
According to the report, the late traditional ruler, Chief Eze, was murdered by a militant group in the community called “Ikuku” led by Mr. Nwankwegu’s Personal Aide, Chukwuma Mbam, and sponsored by Mr. Nwankwegu.
The panel therefore recommended that the state government should severely reprimand him and that take other actions that will serve as a deterrent to other erring and over-bearing political office holders.
It also recommended that a police team should investigate his roles as a principal actor in the crisis and sponsorship of the Ikuku militant group.
The state government accepted the recommendations of the panel and in addition, ordered the prosecution of Mr. Nwankwegu for murder for the roles he played in the death of the monarch.
Investigations further revealed that since then the case has been in court, and at a time, Mr. Nwankwegu and the 21 others were detained in prison custody.
Mr. Nwankwegu was later released by the court on health grounds.
The All Progressive Congress in Ebonyi State had criticized the nomination of Mr. Nwankwegu as commissioner, by the governor, Dave Umahi.
Mr. Nwankwegu was nominated last month for the position.
The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Augustine Nwankwegu, could not be reached for comments on the issue.
On Sunday, the family of the late traditional ruler denied withdrawing an earlier petition it sent to the state government against the nomination of Mr. Nwankwegu.
The family in a letter sent to the governor through their lawyer, Friday Akpor denied endorsing a communique issued by some people of Ebonyi North East Comstituency which claimed that the family has withdrawn their petition against Mr Nwankwegu.
The letter reads in part: “I wish to register my write up on behalf of the estate of Late Ezeogo Innocent Nwodom represented by his wife, Lolo Nwodom, deceased’s son, Prince Moses Nwodom and family representative, Mr Peter Nwogba”.
“The above named persons have reported to me that they are not part of the communique issued by stakeholders of Ebonyi North East Constituency about the withdrawal of their petition against Hon Sabinus Nwankwegu. Sir, nobody discussed with the family members except Aja Samuel whom they believed has sold his birthright and did not represent the common interest of Nwodom family”.
“I pray you to kindly use your good office to save the family and the ten years old case which the family has single handedly fought to this stage. The family needs justice and fair play”.
It said the decision to nominate Nwankwegu is dealing the image of the state a bad blow in the country and beyond.

Crime / Traditional Ruler Detained In Connection With Alhaji Gay’s Murder by byteHead(m): 12:54pm On Jul 27, 2015

Controversy continues to trail the murder of one Alhaji Olatunji Rasaq, popularly called Alhaji Gay, who was killed by some assailants a couple of weeks ago in Alagbado area of Lagos state.

The last is yet to be heard of the incident that led to his death, as more suspects have been apprehended to join those arrested earlier.

It would be recalled that about 2 weeks ago, Alhaji Gay was murdered during a disagreement between landlords and residents in the community, led by one Chief Nojeem Abioye, over land dispute.

DAILY POST gathered that Abioye, the Baale of Temidire Alagbado, his son, and nine others have been arrested and detained over the weekend. This was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, who said 10 suspects, including Chief Abioye, were in Police custody at SDCII, Yaba, adding that investigations are ongoing.

However, Chief Abioye in his defense said: “The community organized the protest because of the activities of Tunji Alaso. The protest was a peaceful one until he came and disrupted it with his thugs.”

“How Alhaji Gay died, I have no idea; it was only a peaceful protest we had,” the chief stated

“The purpose of the conference was to create awareness in the area and to tell the world that Tunji has been threatening the peace of the community with his thugs as he was selling off people’s land which were vacant and even those that are under construction,” he added.

Politics / Again! Fire Razes Church, Market In Lagos (photos) by byteHead(m): 12:21pm On Jul 26, 2015

Property worth millions of naira got destroyed yesterday July 25, after the popular sawmill at Ibereko in Badagry, Lagos was engulfed in fire. Although no life was lost in the incident, the inferno also razed parts of the St. Anthony Catholic church beside the plank market.

As at the time our reporter got to the scene, Fire Fighters from the Lagos State Fire Service, Badagry Station, were seen struggling to put out the raging flames as it continued to spread.

A resident in the area who simply gave his name as Hamed said: “We just discovered smoke was coming out of some of the planks and before we knew it, ‘Thinner’ which is a chemical we use to make paint very thick exploded and the whole area went up in flames”.

However, members of St. Anthony Catholic Church scampered for safety as some groups were said to be having rehearsals as at that time. They immediately evacuated the church premises as neighbours try as much as possible to help them remove valuables, as the fire continued to rage.

The religious facility was immediately emptied as the seats, pulpit-stand, public address system e.t.c were taken outside the premises.

By the time the fire was totally put out at about 6:30pm, valuables running into millions of Naira had ‘gone’. Some of the shop owners were seen wailing and lamenting the incident.

Romance / Lagos Fire Service Saves Man Who Used Sex Enhancement Device From Death by byteHead(m): 4:51pm On Jul 25, 2015
The personnel of the Lagos State Fire Service said on Saturday that they rescued a 40-year-old man from death after he used a sex performance enhancer that enlarged his pennis beyond expectation.

The Director of Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, who made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the man wore a metal ring on his penis.

The ring, according to him, was to enhance erection and ultimately enhance sexual satisfaction but turned out to swell the organ beyond his expectation.

“His experience turned sour when the penis became so erect and swollen beyond his expectation and could not come down and the ring could not be removed.

“When it became apparent that the condition was threatening his life, he rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja for help.

“The hospital invited the service to rescue the man, when they could not easily remove the ring.

“We successfully removed the metal ring in collaboration with the hospital staff at the emergency unit using our rescue tools,’’ he told NAN.
“The incident happened at about 3.15 p.m. on Friday and it took us about 50 minutes for the operation.

“The man wore the ring to enhance his penis for sexual satisfaction, but it turned out to be a threat to his life,’’ Fadipe said.

Politics / BREAKING: Alleged Corruption: EFCC Moves Against Saraki’s Wife, Yar’adua’s Daugh by byteHead(m): 4:56pm On Jul 22, 2015

The daughter of former President Umaru Yar’ Adua and wife of former Kebbi State Governor, Saidu Dakingari, Zaina Dakingari, has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged fraud to the tune of N2billion perpetrated during her husband’s tenure as governor of the Northwest State.
Also invited for questioning for alleged money laundering is Toyin Saraki, wife of the Senate President and former governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki.
Mrs Saraki, a source at the anti-graft agency disclosed, is wanted in relation to questionable inflow of funds into companies where she has interest. She is expected to report at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja on July 28, 2015; where a crack team of investigators have already been assembled to grill her.
Mrs. Dakingari on the other hand was initially expected to report for questioning at the EFCC headquarters today. However, Premium Times gathered that the former Kebbi first lady sent words that she was away to Saudi for Umrah (lesser hajj), and pleaded to be allowed to report on ‎ July 27, 2015.
She is expected to explain to operatives of the anti-graft agency the source of the steady stream of huge cash into her companies, while she held sway as ‘first lady’ of Kebbi State.
Contacted for comments, EFCC spokesp‎erson, Wilson Uwujaren, said, “I’m aware that a new set of suspects w‎ere recently invited,” Mr. Uwujaren said. “It’s not impossible the two women are among them.”

Politics / Oronsaye Granted Bail On Self Recognition by byteHead(m): 8:07pm On Jul 21, 2015

Former Head of Service of the Federation, Stephen Oronsanye and his co-accused in a N1.4billion fraud case, Osarenkhoe Afe, were granted bail on Tuesday.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole, before whom they were arraigned on a 24-count charge, granted them bail after listening to arguments on their bail applications.

While the judge granted Oronsaye bail on self recognition, Afe got his reprieve at N50million and two sureties in the same amount.

One of the sureties must be a civil servant of Grade Level 16.

The judge had, upon the accused persons arraignment on July 13 asked them to file formal bail applications and released them to their lawyers, who were asked to write an undertaken to produce them in court for hearing of their bail applications.

While the lead prosecution lawyer opposed Afe’s bail application, he did not oppose that of Oronsaye because the judge was disposed to granting him bail having earlier released him after his arraignment.

Politics / DSS Vs Dasuki: Court Process May Lead To ‘revelations’ On Boko Haram, APC, PDP by byteHead(m): 1:02pm On Jul 21, 2015

Prominent Northern Nigerians are pleading with embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki (rtd) not to go to court in the face of the harassment he is facing from the Department of State Services, DSS.

The DSS had last Thursday afternoon, simultaneously raided Dasuki’s properties.

They are Nos. 13, John Khadya Street, Nos. 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja, and Nos. 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State.

Speaking to DAILY POST on Tuesday, a source said the treatment meted out to Dasuki has been a subject of discussion among many Northern elites who believe any court process will lead to disclosure of many other issues not fit for public consumption.

The set of Nigerians include serving and retired senior military officers, traditional rulers, politicians and even insiders in the new government.

“The calibre of personalities that have reached out to him (Dasuki) will shock you,” the source says.

Asked to disclose such persons, he said, “I cannot mention names but they include Generals, Emirs, politicians, as well as loyalists of the current administration.”

“He (Dasuki) is still shocked that the DSS could dig up a charge like ‘treasonable felony’. That itself is libel because you don’t just make such accusation until you have instituted a case.”

The DSS, had in a statement signed by, Tony Opuiyo said the agency was forced to break into the house belonging to Dasuki’s because NSA denied its officers entry into his main residence despite being presented with a genuine and duly signed search warrant.

DSS stated that it acted based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State.

The agency accused Sambo of raising a false alarm to the military authorities to come to his aid, “as he failed to correctly tell the military that his property was about to be legitimately searched.”

DSS said Dasuki retired from the Army as a Colonel, and therefore not entitled to have military guards its operatives met on ground.

It disclosed that items found at Dasuki’s house include seven high caliber rifles, (high assault weapons), several magazines and military related gears.

“The team also recovered twelve (12) new vehicles, out of which five (5) were bullet proofs. These vehicles which are all exotic vehicles were retrieved from SAMBO’s residence having failed to produce evidence of ownership,” DSS added.

Commenting on the items found, our source wondered why DSS was portraying Dasuki as though they were acting a script.

“This is pure witch-hunting, ridicule and persecution. Those asking Dasuki not to go to court knows that he is being pushed to the wall and that the outcome will not be funny.

“In his three years at that post, he had access to all the classified documents you can think of. Documents with facts on Boko Haram; documents on political parties and who their members really are. We are talking about damning revelations.

Ex-CSO to President Jonathan, Gordon Obua Dies in SSS Custody

By Yemi Adebowale

Mr. Gordon Obua, former Chief Security Officer to President Goodluck Jonathan has passed away in the custody of Department of Security Services (DSS) in its Abuja Headquarters where he had been detained since Thursday, July 16, 2015 on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian online newspaper, The Trent is reporting.

Sources who have been monitoring the situation have confirmed Obua’s passing. He was arrested on Thursday when he honoured an invitation by the DSS.

Obua, who was being detained by the DSS in an underground dungeon for undisclosed reasons was being denied access to his lawyers, family, and his doctors on the orders of the new Director General of the DSS, Lawal Musa, which serves as Nigeria’s secret police.

Our sources say Obua’s remains are still in the custody of the DSS at the time of filing this report. He was held without charges filed against him.

On July 18, 2015, Onochie Onwuegbuna, the lead partner at Zeran Legal, has issued a press statement on behalf of Obua’s family complaining about the conditions in which his client was being detained and said that his client was being witch-hunted by the Buhari government. He said his client was diabetic and hypertensive and was being denied his drugs as well as food and water by the DSS.

Obua, until his death, was an employee of the SSS and his employer knew about his medical conditions but decided, in impunity, to deny him access to his medicines and doctor, his lawyer alleged.

Onwuegbuna said that the Buhari government had ‘marked’ his client, and other individuals who held offices in Jonathan’s administration and the arrest of his client was a scheme, “in other to implicate them by all means for phantom crimes or offences”.

A non-governmental organisation, the Society for Global Justice had issued a statement on Obua’s continued detention at the DSS, on Saturday calling for the release of the former Chief Security Officer.

Executive director of the group, Mr. Marcus Ogabe confirmed that Obua was detained at the SSS headquarters in Abuja since Thursday.

The group also said the continued detention of Obua is indicative of “the tyrannical, autocratic and dictatorship tendency of the Muhammadu Buhari administration”.

Politics / Re: Analysing The DSS "Incriminating Evidence" Against Sambo Dasuki by byteHead(m): 9:25am On Jul 19, 2015
barcanista:
Goodmorning all, I woke up this morning to read an article where the DSS attempted to justify their siege on the residence of Sambo Dasuki and tagged it "criminating evidence" https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-found-incriminating-evidence-dasukis-residence-says-sss
The DSS even went on to say that before embarking on the exercise, they had “credible intelligence linking Dasuki with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State.”

Let us take a look at their "incriminating evidence"

1. Sambo Dasuki Had Army Guards
Now does this make sense? As NSA, Sambo Dasuki was assigned military guards by the Defence Headquarters and not by himself. It is the duty of the Defence Headquarter to order for the withdrawal of the guard IF they insist that Sambo Dasuki is not entitled to maintain such guards as exNSA. In fact, this doesn't stand as "incriminating evidence".

2. Seven "High Calibre" Rifles Recovered

Dasuki Sambo was NSA for the periods 2012 and July 2015. His position as NSA makes him "enemy" to some people. Having Seven rifles with him for his personal protection is not out of place. Is it not silly to reason that a man who plans to topple the State will only have just Seven (7) rifles? It was even clear that the DSS have no idea whether the rifles were licensed to him or given to him by the appropriate authorities. How does this appear incriminating?

3. 12 Cars Recovered

The DSS found 12 cars of which 5 are bullet proof. So how does this translate to planned treason? Sambo was the NSA for more than three years, he was retired on Tuesday with "immediate effect". Do they expect him (Sambo) to return everything on Wednesday when his retirement was impromptu? This is a common sense question. The proper thing for the DSS to do is to write him to return all State properties at his disposal. This is because he will need time(at least 4-7 days) to audit properties with him, know which is personal and which belongs to the State and then submit handover note along with the properties. Why will the case of Sambo Dasuki be different? He was fired on Tuesday, the DSS got Search warrant on Wednesday, and accused/searched him on Thursday. Beside, that he even admitted that the Cars were properties of the State shows that he wasn't bent on personalising State properties and he never used State's resources to buy properties for himself.

Please also note the phrase "possible sinister enterprise" in the emboldened statement. Isn't that a pointer that the DSS never had any "crdible intelligence" in the first instance-contrary to their earlier claim?

The DSS and the Buhari government should tell Nigerians the truth and stop the deliberate deceit. I urge Sambo Dasuki to seek redress in the court of law.

May God Bless Us All

WHEN WILL YOU STOP WAILING?

Buhari does not know who you are talkless of caring about your opinion.

It is obvoius that you do not want anything good for Nigeria.

Health / Marijuana Can Heal Broken Bones, Says New Study by byteHead(m): 12:16pm On Jul 18, 2015
Marijuana helps broken bones heal faster, a new study has found.
The Times of Israel reports that researchers at Tel Aviv University found that rats with broken bones healed much quicker when given the non-psychotic marijuana component, cannabidiol or CBD.
The study, published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research on Thursday found that the bones not only healed quicker, but were also stronger and more resilient against a repeated fracture, meaning the bones treated with marijuana were much less likely to break again.
The scientists behind the research believe that this is due to a connection between cannabinoid receptors in the human body and the stimulation of bone growth.
Dr Yankel Gabet from Tel Aviv’s Bone Research Laboratory told the Times of Israel: “We found CBD alone to be sufficiently effective in enhancing fracture healing. Other studies have shown CBD to be a safe agent, which leads us to believe we should continue this line of study in clinical trials to assess its usefulness in improving human fracture healing.”
A number of studies have found medical advantages of marijuana. In a 2003 study by Virginia Commonwealth University, researchers said that marijuana could be used to help prevent epileptic seizures. Marijuana has also been linked to effective treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s.
Earlier this month, Minnesota became the 22nd US state to legislate for the medical use of marijuana.

Politics / Re: Jonathan Sends Anyaoku To Beg President Buhari Not To Probe Him- SaharaReporters by byteHead(m): 10:33am On Jul 16, 2015
feedthenation:

Former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has stated that former President Jonathan asked her to withdraw more than $1.2 billion from the excess crude account. Even though Mrs. Okonji-Iweala continues to maintain publicly that she did nothing wrong during her tenure, a source told SaharaReporters that the former minister, who coordinated economic affairs during the former president’s tenure, has been quietly cooperative with the Buhari administration. According to the source, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala has offered what amounts to a dossier of corrupt deals authorized by the former president.

In an attempt to curry favor with the new government, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala recently directed officials of her polling agency, NOI Polls, to give President Buhari a 70% approval rating among Nigerians. “The polling results were simply cooked up,” a professional pollster told SaharaReporters. Prior to the 2015 general elections, the former minister’s fake polling organization kept repeating that Mr. Jonathan approval rating was up even as his political fortune plummeted.

SaharaReporters also learned that former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, is also actively cooperating with the Buhari administration. As earlier revealed by us, Mrs. Alison-Madueke had struck a deal with the new government to submit a document to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) exposing her collaborators at the NNPC.
The former Petroleum minister, who was one of the closest cabinet members to Mr. Jonathan—and the mastermind of numerous money laundering deals on behalf of the former president—currently shuttles between the UK and Switzerland. A source close to Mrs. Alison-Madueke said the former minister was receiving treatment in the UK related to breast cancer.

These hoes aint loyal. grin
