Someone close to me has been on my nerves concerned about her younger brother inability to submit beFore time lapse. Do you know if it has been submitted by the time lapse? |
After paying from #4k to about #8k depending on time of registration, Jambites are now being asked to clean the hall for use. Could it be that JAMB could not pay cleaners? Or how can students with exam tension as the case maybe being asked to sweep? this happened at afe babalola, bimbo owolabi ICT unit.
|

Registering my presence. For law. |
Yields:Yes.. I am passionate on it and as per grades...on higher class but I just wanna divert to studying french |
@Thewhizzkid1is that alison certificate making sense. If yes the maybe I will just swap, study french as bsc and law as online course |
I remembered while in school towards the end of my SSCE as the teacher tried to force us to study french. Everyone in the class ran and I joined them. But towards the final exam, I and another volunteered to do french will rigorous studying. Being the first set, we came out with B-grades. But yet I diverted into law while he went to another. Two years after, I now want to study french and have a degree in it but that means I have to forfeit This sounded foolish but I just realise that the passion exist despite my level. The problem now is how to convince my parents as they've started being called "mum & dad lawyer"(nigeria thinking ) |
T4taiwo:Haha...you are showing your ignorance here, he was paying his vow which he vowed |
goalllllllllll |
if they contravened the law, seal it off. but please be sure to seal off that of your supporter's too if they are criminals too. I doubt if the last statement can be done |
this was just to pay his vow which he vowed if elected and not to look humble as some might think. this is where this report failed. |
I can never forget the day I stopped following one of my neighbor to school owing to the misconduct of one their children which happens to be my classmate. I was so unhappy and I can remember faintly cursing then that the government would soon collect the official vehicle he was bragging with. the following morning, I prepared early since I was about to trek more than 6km @primary 3 with my younger brother in primary 1 or nursery 2 then. I did that repeatedly for about 2years but in all, it taught me some life lessons and how to solve issue myself. as a kid then, I was unforgiving and not ready to yield any plea though I suffered for it. treking is fun then because at least, no one was punishing or intimidating me. it also afforded me to explore some thick bush which were scaring as a shortcut |
I debunked the news that he was going to use a 1957 salon car and so it was. osoko is something else |

Even though I was not a youth towards the end of the 20th century but never the less I still have little memories of those days. The ones I learnt, read or heard from the family, elders, teachers both in school and the church are enough to give me a perfect instance of how things happened then due to the striking similarities. And about the 21st century, I can undoubtedly say that I need little or nothing about the happenings of this period because this was and is still the most active moment of my life. The 20th century even though might not be the best but yet is far more better than this so-called computerized generation when it comes to ethical values and the existing esteemed norms if juxtaposed. You can always agree with me that the century we all are now have deviated from all these values which have made the past elders more diligent in the course of their activities and behaviours. As a kid or a pupil in the crèche, pre-primary and primary school, it was being sang into ears that the privates part of the body includes the armpit and hence everyone must cover it just like his/her genitals but fast-forward now, you see the armpits more than the face of an individual. And people called that fashion? Instances have even abounded where even the flaunted armpits are too dirty or unshaved hence making such an individual look awkward. Look into our songs now, the over-hyped hit-tracks when being decoded brings no sense but rather being accompanied with indecencies which have affected majority of the youths who fashioned their lifestyle after them. How disgusting such a situation could be. I read a lyrics of an over-hyped song the other day and what I could deduce was a repetition of a word over about 80 times. Is such a musician that clueless that he can’t think of something more appealing and convincing or should we say the youths hyping the song have been hypnotized? When I hear elders say this world is mad, I agree with them because the difference between the mad man and the youth in his room is so thin. You might want to ask why? The mad man wears rags, torn clothes and transparent clothes that can’t cover him, you the youths have more in possession than he does. The mad man talks and sings what you don’t understand; you have more collections of songs you don’t even know the meaning. The mad man has his hair being unkempt hence looking awkward, you as a youth go to the saloon and barb/weave what the mad man has on his head. The mad man moves on the street never listens or acknowledge a horn, you a youth put on a headset that makes you like the mad man on the street who doesn’t recognise the horn of a car. Just when you think this world is having success technologically, the youths also are move from craziness to insanity and you begin to ask where we have gone wrong. You are Christian; you are being tagged being too “legalistic” or being to old-fashioned hence you get home, think through and say I’m no longer a Christian because I want to rock, the fact is you have joined the population of the mad men. You are a lady platting your natural hair and suddenly because Tola got his Iphone6 through partying with his Brazilian wig, you get home and the next thing you pick is your bag on the way to saloon. The fact is you’ve just ran mad. No more difference between you and the mad man. As a Christian, remember who you are. A separated one and a consecrated one who has been espoused to ONLY one husband-God and hence must remain committed and separated only for him |
if only it could be adopted then you will see Nigeria achieving big...but as the above said, it will be difficult |
remembered when the court of appeal gave the judgement for a rerun then, fayose himself at mattew junction in Ado opened the boot of his car which was already full of brooms which is the symbol of APC and distributed it. about than 4years after, he became a thug and was resented by the same Fayemi. in politics, no permanent friend or foe, permanent interest exist. e |
thanks. |
Before I continue with my opinion on why it should be scrapped or better still not made compulsory, there is need to look at the intent of the founder then, General Gowon in 1973 after the civil war occurred so as to restore back Nigeria as a united nation. But the question begging for answer is how far having this been able to foster the unity it was originally created for. Corps members in some parts of the country are seen as “fifth class” citizens while other face discriminations which affects some psychologically all in the name of “serving” our father’s land. Every year, the nation allocations billions on this exercise which if for instance being diverted the federal institution of each state would have made these institutions world class. Imagine UNILAG, OAU, BUK, UNN etc. being given the money that would have used for camping in the three batches which are in year for the next five years if managed well. This for sure would have provided our institutions world class structures and the chant for lack of funding would not have erupted in the first place. The research institute in these universities would have made Nigeria as whole proud because innovations would have been possible. What then should be done? NYSC as is stands if scrapped will definitely make workers and traders who depend squarely on corps members unemployed but rather should this made optional. You may want to raise an eyebrow about this but the fact is why are we making this compulsory? The government should rather after graduation give the graduates the allowance of a year at once that is lets say the allowance is #19000 then, each graduates that intend not going should receive two hundred and twenty thousand naira. This without doubt will reduce the dependence on the government after graduation because those who have been able to learn a trade, skill or perhaps as a student have been thought some things that can generate money without depending on the government will use this money to venture into such. You can imagine the output an Agric. Student being given that amount with a land from his local government or traditional leader would yield. And now if as a graduate you are interested in going since it is now optional, you then write a proposal on graduation and the government can now increase the allowance to something like 22000 naira-25000naira. What do we stand to gain? As a nation still looking for a way to curb the issue of unemployment and over dependence on the government, the adoption of this will definitely go a long way in providing employment opportunities to the young graduates hence preventing unemployment. Also, innovations come into place because as graduates, who prefer the money to the service, if such amounts cannot fully help, it will at least provide such a graduate capital for such and little might now to be borrowed to make such dreams come to actualisation. Another thing we stand to gain is that more graduates have a chance to get their dream job because once this service is being made optional, it provides graduates like the accountants, banking and finance etc and some other professions which always offer employment to younger graduates the opportunity of getting their dream job. You can imagine a scenario where an individual graduated at 24 for instance and the bank which he/she dreams of working is also having an age limit of 24. You can always imagine the frustration and depression coupled with unhappiness in face due to the compulsory service to the fatherland. The stipends called the “allawee” is not even sufficient for graduates posted to some cities like Abuja, Lagos, Port-Harcourt etc. the amount being spent on accommodation, feeding and transportation in these cities portrays the graduates as beggars or “church rats” all in the name of service. Here is an estimated breakdown of the amount being spent by the federal government on 60,000 graduates per batch if the allowance is #19,000 Allowance for the whole year= 60,000*#228000= #13,680,000,000 that is #13 billion Feeding throughout the three weeks camp @#5000 per week=#15,000*60,000= #900,000,000 Apart are still registration processes, accommodation etc. This is a roughly estimation of a batch in a year. |
Thanks to everyone. More contribution can still come in |
