Ok i know the times are hard. But I do not feel pity for any African country, because Europe was far worse than what Africa is, but people came together and enforce a change that they are still enjoying today. Why did i say this? A lot of we Africans are simply good at trying to forcefully open a door even when they know they aint qualify.... I call that thoughtless greediness.

The route for migration to any saner western country is clear. You possibly can't be educated and tell me you have not care to visit the websites of those countries and know first hand if you qualify or what type of route you qualify for. This particular oversight is something i dont take likely. Spend days on the internet researching what you need, by the time you seek help or assistance, you make the job easier for the person.

Do not over rely on prayers. Europe dont rely on prayers or faith or those sort of things we Africans are so used to. if those things are most important, AFRICA - Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, etc would be heaven on earth. If you want to japa, help your self and search for information online. That way, you dont fall into shady travel agencies. At least with the little you research, you will know whether the plug is grounded or not.

The best and most easy-hard way to migrate with full peace of mind is via a job offer. Pursue that more and with all means. Even if its a three-one year contract, get it and enter. Once in, and you are captured as a tax payer, staying beomes more easy. But the moment you come in to take from the system, sorry its just a manner of time before a Sunik come scatter your enjoyment.

As more Western countries tighten the door on migration to their country, all hope is not lost if you plan well, strategize and act. Please dont ask me how to plan well, strategize. You wey one japa suppose get plan, but if you no get plan, paid someone to give you a foolproof way of japing. Most free info about japa don cast.... The update wey dey now, na secret before our brothers go cast am with rush rush.

For instance, someone japa using the school route to of all places UK? After spending tens of millions, he is on the verge of been tossed out. Due to lack of school fees fulfilment. Europe no be Africa wey we de beg our way through with all kind of stories. Rule is rule, otherwise someone might bag a prison term.....

If you have GBP18,000 cash, i tell you will a fool to put that in a UK degree. When there are lots of UK start ups you can buy a significant shares in and go in as a job creator, in your free time, you can run the street and hustle anyhow. But you see this school route, you are restricted by many factors. Na before UK degree carry weight, not now. If you us even 20% of the above gather Tech certifications & trainings, it will profit you more.

Make una dey strategize well abeg. Oyibo don know say the schooling no mean anything to una, just that it is the easiest and stress free way to hit UK or Canada.....

Only through an offer of employment. Do you have an employment offer? If yes, then you have nothing to worry as the Employer is the ONLY one who can begin the process. Its done online. But if you live outside EU/EEA, then you must, after submitting your own application via the link from Migration, go to any Swedish embassy nearest to you.

This is the only way to get a visa to do teacher job.

Then the second part, are you certified as a teacher?

Good luck!

If you don't want to suffer in any European country in EU or Schengen make sure you travel with Study Visa or work Visa. Make sure your invitation is done by a company in Bolags register ( Talking of Sweden). These days many easy companies are doing shakara due to increase off the salary threshold for any type of job, so long the job would ask for TCR for the employee. However,

This two categories of Visa qualifies you to be able to obtain a resident permit and live freely in the country and also work.
It also qualifies you to apply for Visa to any countries of your choice as a resident/visitors too.

Na people wey no get resident permit dey suffer abroad. Your resident permit is gateway to citizenship!

That is an impressive experience if you'd ask me. Ordinarily with your skills, you should not have trouble landing a role in Sweden. What we can assist currently are medium skill roles. Apart of Sweden, what says you about Estonia? We can help send your resume directly to openings.

However, you should subscribe to Calm Travels JSA. Send us a mail together with a detailed resume so we can send you an invoice.

Good luck.

@calmtravels

Can you advise or if you can assist. I am looking for job in Sweden. I really hope to find one before moving over. I'm currently an EU resident. Visa and residency permit shouldn't be an issue. My partner is an EU citizen.

I have sent my application to a number of companies on LinkedIn but no response yet. I have 5 years experience in Systems admin, Network operations and security.

Thanks,

As much as possible people should find their way out of Nigeria, because as it appears now, only Remittances from Abroad is the real FX earner for the govt.
While in abroad, we should endeavor to be like the Asians, and build a sizeable community. Like i said early, Only the Somalian communities currently foster brotherhood. Even with threat of deportation, they dont rat on fellow African, doing so to a Somalian is a taboo.

Lets be like Indians.
Here is how the Indians roll. I have tons of them as buddies, in Africa, as well as in Euro zone.
An India gets opportunity to enter Euro zone or North America. H e works his ass off. brings his lose relatives first. Then set up an LLC, using this legal entity, he brings in extended families and before you know it, there is a sizeable Hindu community nearby. This is both for survival and for self preservation. Abroad is really really boring once you dont have friends & families nearby! You can go depressed, sick or even die in your room with no one checking on you until smells force someone to call the police.

I have seen a young married Indian lady earning over 15K USD pm as a techie, while the husband is unemployed and doing volunteer jobs. This lady respects the husband, still go out to pick the husband from his work station, even waiting sometimes for one hour for the husband to close. No disrespect, no quarrelling, no shouting all sweet and homely. A lady with more 150k USD per year

We should use this Asian strategy to earn respect as legit expat, not green pastures seekers. We too na expats. Lol.

Avoid braving the open atlantic ocean or Mideterranean to be in Europe when you can be patient and try the legit way.

Information for foreign berry pickers.

For people who wish to work as a berry picker in Sweden, If you want to work as a berry picker in Sweden and do not come from an EU country, you normally need a work permit. In most cases, citizens of countries outside of the EU also need a visa in order to visit Sweden. If you are planning to work in Sweden for a longer period than three months, you will need a work permit and also a residence permit.

It is the Migration Board that handles the rules governing work permits and residence permits. You must apply
for a permit before you leave for Sweden. You can apply for residence and work permits on the Migration Board’s webpage. You can also submit your application to the Swedish Embassy or Consulate in the country you reside.

If you are planning to work in Sweden for less than three months and need a visa to enter
Sweden, you must submit your application for a work permit to a Swedish Embassy or Consulate.

What is required to obtain a work permit?
To obtain a work permit, it is necessary that:
1. you are in possession of a valid passport,
2. you are able to support yourself through your work,
3. there is sufficient work to ensure that your salary is at
least SEK 29 000 per month,
4. your employer has advertised the position in Sweden
and the EU for at least ten days (for new employment),
5. your employer offers working conditions that are on
par with a Swedish Collective Labour agreement or
what is normal in the profession or trade,
6. your employer offers the trade unions in question the
opportunity to comment on the employment conditions in the job offer.

The ordinary working hours must not exceed 40 hours a week.

What are the employment conditions for berry pickers according to the Swedish Collective
Labour agreement?
For you to obtain a work permit, the salary must be no less than SEK 2 900 per month, and the employment conditions must be equal to those of the Swedish Collective Labour Agreement (or what is normal in the profession or trade).

If you are employed by a company with operations in
Sweden, the Collective Labour Agreement you are covered by is the Swedish Municipal Workers’ Union agreement with the Federation of Swedish Forest and Agricultural Employers. The agreed minimum wage under this
agreement is SEK 2900+ per month. If you are employed on an hourly basis, the agreement also contains information about the minimum hourly wage.

If you are employed by a foreign company with no
operations in Sweden, such as a temporary staffing agency, the temporary staffing agreement is valid. Under that agreement, the minimum wage is SEK 2900+ per month.

This applies regardless of whether or not the foreign temporary staffing agency has signed a collective agreement. A berry picker must be paid at least the minimum wage set out in the Swedish collective
wage agreement.

For those who have a visa to visit relatives, it is possible to pick berries as a private individual. Income from picking berries is tax free for private individuals up to SEK 12,500 per person and year.

Important info about migrants wishing to bring their family to live in Sweden.

Yes. Your wife/husband/co-habitation partner and unmarried children under the age of 21 can be given a permit if they are being financially supported by you (Principal Resident permit applicant). This maintenance requirement means that your salary needs to cover the costs of housing and so-called ‘normal living expenses’ for you and your family members. The amount varies depending on your type of housing and which/how many family members you bring with you.

After the cost for your housing is covered you need the following amount left after tax:
(Normal amount)

9 445 SEK for you and your partner

3 055 SEK for any child 0–6 years old

3 667 SEK any child 7–10 years old

4 279 SEK any child 11–14 years old

4 889 SEK any child 15 years or older.

There are no specific housing requirements for a single person wishing to obtain a work permit in Sweden. To get the dollar amount, divide by 10.

Tips for surviving in Sweden.
If you hook a job offer in Stockholm, do not live in Stockholm. Most of your pay would go in for rentals. Except off course you are paid more than the country's average. The country's average is somewhere around SEK27,000-30,000. This is not a good time for cycling, otherwise i'd advise you to buy a bicycle and even save your train tickets.

There are smaller villages, towns & cities around Stockholm with cheaper rentals with wholesome amenities going for as little as SEK4000+ FOR A FURNISHED STUDIO. Wake up early, use & endure the train ride.

Good luck!

Tips for successful application.
Narrow your Resume to that particular job & its conditions. If you are apply for a seasonal agro job, dont go start telling how you are a great Mechanical engineer or a MSc graduate. That is a great turn off for the person who would look through your application. Stuffs like gender, marital status etc should be expunged to create more rooms for detailed experience, milestones and info that shows that you really had or did a great job.

No one actually give a shit about your sexual orientation or marital status or education level except its part of the requirements.

If you have previously applied for Asylum in any Euro country, and was rejected, or is still processing, kindly dont use our JSA to apply for a job. It will be to no good.
Travel / Re: Things I Found Out About Sweden! by CalmTravels: 3:00am On Nov 22, 2023
Most jobs are found on Indeed or any other Euro wide platforms.
Now, most persons might not have college education, or have the requisite experiences. There is a low hanging fruit for you too.

Seasonal work. Once you are in, and just before the end of your contract, find your way or try to make sure a permanent contract is issued.

Getting a seasonal work in Sweden is usually through a staffing or recruitment agency. They have their quota. They usually go for Thais (people from Thailand).

Sometime next year, Calm Travels would seek to buy the Right to Pick Fruits (Berries), with this, we can second staffs. Keep following.

And if you have not subscribe to our weekly Job Search Advisory (JSA) for Nordic countries, you should subscribe with less than seven dollars equivalent in local currency (Nigeria, Rwanda, Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Kenya, Uganda) for a six months Plan.

If you are highly skilled in the IT sector, not Graphic designs, like you are a confirmed technical writer, a more focused advisory is for you.

Vacant industrial jobs in energy and defense break records in Sweden

The demand for labor is high, especially in the two sub-sectors of energy technology and the defense industry. Vacancies in energy and defense have never before been higher than now during the autumn.
For other sub-sectors, it is noted that the demand for labor is fading, which is seen in both vacancies and according to the Teknikföretagen's business cycle barometer, which measures the proportion of companies with a shortage of labour. This eases the pressure on the labor market and increases the likelihood that the sub-sectors, individual companies or regions most in need of labor can find staff.

Unemployment is rising and employment growth is slowing, according to Statistics Sweden's Labor Force Surveys (AKU). In the third quarter of this year, unemployment was 7.8 percent, up from 7.4 percent in the first quarter. Corresponding figures for employment growth are 1.1 percent, down from 2.3 percent.

The first set of people you met in Europe has the capacity to ruin you or help you make it. Not by providing you jobs or money, but giving you detailed street info.

There is one country you should avoid their citizens at all costs: Ethiopians!
There is one country their citizens are loyal to the core: Somalis.

I have personally had interaction with both of them, and i tell you, the snitches on blacks are mostly done by Ethiopians. As for the Somalis, even with a gun to their head or deportation threat, they won't snitch on a fellow black. No so with Ethiopians, they always snitch, sometimes for fun of it, other times for weird reasons! Especially on Nigerians. Be guided. There is no real friend in Europe, only people who depend on each other for survival.

I avoid Ethiopians like a plague. Some Kenyans also fall in the league of snitches too.
